"You can fail at what you don't want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you LOVE" - Jim Carry, I love that your moving through love for your passion and not letting fear overcome you. May God Bless you my friend,
I totally feel the intimidation part. I’m older than a lot of the small business TH-camrs I watch and I feel like I’ve missed the boat. Thank you for the motivation!
Congrats! You're gonna enjoy the journey! =) I'm an ARtiSt myself with a Website / ARt ShOP & i was getting stressed just a few days ago trying to do everything with my Shop (until I realized - it's on my own terms). That has been extremely freeing!! I don't feel comfortable with things like some social media promotion, email newsletters and worldwide shipping. Just a reminder to take it step by step and do only what you can handle & enjoy doing !! ♡ having FUN is the secret to creating great art!! =)
Hi ! I love your personality and the vibes here, and I relate to you so much regarding starting something new, especially a public thing. Excited to see more of your journey !
This really made my day! I’m 38 and still trying to figure out where I wanna go art wise and my biggest fear is that it’s too late to do it. Watching your video and also reading the comment section and how lovely ppl are really is encouraging. Like someone already commented you are likeable and pleasant to listen to. I wish you a lot of success and looking forward to the next video!
Having my own small bussinesss where I sell my various arts and crafts is a lifelong dream. I'm 30 now and in the middle of a second burnout, heavy therapy and no prospects or ideas of what I want to do after therapy, job wise. I want to start smart and on time, but I don't know how to. So here's to you sir, that you may have the success that you deserve and dream of, thriving in your art's endeavors. I would love to follow your growth and process and hopefully grow along with you, getting the courage to start as well.
I've been through some burnout periods myself and understand the feeling of starting something being overwhelming. I have been documenting the process this week of getting things ready and putting together all the resources I have found and hoping to make that step by step video for people because it sucks to feel like that is what is holding you back, believe me, I get it! Hoping to see you start too when you feel ready :)
Congratulations! I'm really excited for you. I'm actually in a similar boat. I'm 37 years old and starting my art business finally! I'm currently in the process of filming and getting ready to start on TH-cam as well and it is definitely scary, but also very exciting. You are very likable and easy to listen to. I think you're going to do great!
Wow, that is really nice of you to say! I know the beginning can be a lot (at least it was for me and of course still is) but you got this! I'm going to keep an eye out for you first video and journey! Good luck and hope to see it whenever you're ready!!
@NeonShibaStudio thank you! I'm definitely excited to get started! I've heard from lots of people how much work it is, so I'm mentally prepared for that at least haha.
Inspiring stuff...I'm on a similar path and plan I think. Although there's always reasons to not that seems to be winning...for now. I wish you the best on your journey!
New subscriber here 😊 Good for you I’m really inspired by what you are doing and especially the why! So glad I found your channel, it’s helping me with that final push and pull to follow in your footsteps. I look forward to watching along as you succeed Kyle!
Hey! I too love watching art businesses grow. I would love my own art business even though I am not really an artist. I have worked for youtube creators and I am always kind of viewing channels from a creative and strategic perspective. I am impressed by your videos especially from someone who is starting out and your views are consistently growing! You will definitely gain some great traction. I hope to be as brave as you someday in my creative endeavors
Thank you, that means a lot, especially from someone with your background. You can be, it is really scary and overwhelming to put yourself out there and try new things but you can always stop if you don't like it and might find you love it!!
I'm really excited for what's to come! Your sentiment of following your passions despite the risk of failure is beautiful and something I needed to hear.
Glad I found your channel. I'm a small art channel as well and I started my art business in Feb of this year. The journey has been wild and sad sometimes but still so happy I started.
Aw, thanks! I'm excited to check out your channel and business. I know the journey isn't always easy and can be rough, but hoping you (and I) keep going and really glad to hear you took that step to start!! :)
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 You've got this. As a child I dreamed of being an artist. I didn't receive the support as I grew up in the "starving artist" era and art was considered a hobby. Life moved on. A marriage, child, divorce and then the focus was on supporting my child. In my 30's I returned to school and earned a studio (mosaicist) art degree. This was something I was only practicing on the side as I kept the day job to pay those bills. Social media and such methods of support and inspiration were not yet available. In my 40's I became a high school studio art teacher teaching crafts. I did dabble in other areas such as macro photography. In my 50's I started to slow down and due to health reasons retired early. I traveled and six years go moved abroad. I started a fictional series and remain in many groups I joined in the states. It was much easier to travel with a laptop for writing then art supplies. This fall I started to think of how I could supplement my income and do something that really brought me joy. I had a couple of children's book ideas rumbling about in my mind for quite some time. I started researching illustrators for the stories I created. In doing this I found the love and the reawakening of the dream I had as a child. I've always loved bright, vibrant colors. I realized it wasn't paint and canvases that I was drawn to but digital art/illustration. Obviously, as a child this wasn't even a thing and I felt that because I'd never learned to draw traditionally it wasn't feasible. Aside, from childrens books there are many other projects I would like to create with digital art such as coloring books, stickers, interactive activity books, cards etc. So my goal now is to upgrade my tablet and painting app and do what I've always wanted to do. I can still travel and move about with my "supplies" tucked in my bag. I applaud you for going after your dream. This will enhance you the rest of your life. This will set an example for your family. Blessing and happy creating.
Thank you for sharing your story with me and others here! Hearing your perspective and experiences through all that is really inspiring to keep going with your passions and dreams. I feel like as I get older, too, and with a family, it's like you say, setting an example for them and hopefully others that you can do it! I wish you luck with your travels and art upgrades! Would love to see your creations some day :)
Congratulations! It’s never too late to start achieving your dreams :) I applaud your courage and I wish you the best. Can’t wait to check out your shop 😊
This is where I am at as well! Good luck to you, you got this!! As cliché as it sounds, keep going even when it feels tough or like you want to give up. Those are the moments where we grow and take one step closer to our goal and the life we want to live!
i think i'm at a similar stage as you are. subbed and looking forward to seeing more content from you. i really want to start my own channel as well and i hope to roll out my first video this month. good luck to all of us newbies!
Once you make it big, this whole comment section can say we were with you from the start. You're doing great and also you're helping me feel less scary about my own thing. Good luck!!
Hey! Fellow leechuts fan here. Way to go taking the plunge. I'm still really intimidated by filming and editing but I hope to be starting soon. Keep doing what you're doing man. 🤘
Thank you! And leechuts is a huge inspiration to me. I hope that you consider doing it, it feel really overwhelming but at the end of the day like you'll never know what it's like on the other side of the plunge if you don't try! And happy to help with any filming or editing fears (from someone who is in the beginning stages with you ;P)

Great Video! I'm a small artist trying to make a youtube channel as well and you are so right, It's WAY more work than I could have ever Imagined. Can't wait to see what you post/do next, good luck man.

Wow man! Look at you go! Well done, SO BRAVE! I'm right there with you, trying to be creative after 12 years of avoiding it. With limited time though, full-time mother, part-time worker. Your work is so fun and you have such a lovely style! SUCH TALENT! I'm starting from the beginning, just trying to find a style 🤪HELP Wishing you all the best with your creative endeavours
OMG i 100% know the feeling (still feeling it) of trying to figure out style, what to work on first, where to go. I get it. I want to create a video in the future trying to kind of walk through things I did and hopefully help people figure out what works for them. I am all about free education and sharing knowledge and resources and love helping others in any way I can. Also, with a kid myself and full time job, it's .. a lot. It's amazing you are a full-time mother and work part-time and still finding time to start. Thank you for the support!!
Best of luck...I'm on a similar journey, but with fine art. I AM making progress, but it's slooooowwww progress! It can be frustrating and at times you might feel like you are getting nowhere...I know I have...but I'm still here plugging away at it and adding extra things as I go. I think this is the perfect piece of advice right now and thank you for sharing your journey. I am anticipating it being slow but, I know this sounds cliche, I really am in it for the journey and process and being able to do things like this to connect with fellow small business owners and everyone else here. I think your strategy makes so much sense and am wishing you luck as you continue on! Excited to check out your channel and art :)
Many start with Etsy and it can be a starter but I left them years ago when I had a vintage side hustle. You could still use it. I am going to go with Shopify personally in order to have control over my own business. You can get 3 months for $1 and for a beginner store with low inventory starting out they have a $5 a month plan. May I suggest planning ahead by what holidays and events will be coming. Example, New Years, Valentines, St Paddy's, or seasonal Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter. I applaud you for doing a TH-cam channel as it scares me 😅 I know many think they have to use all forms of social media and I disagree. I think the best advice I received was pick 2-3 sources and use those.
I think the more I've thought about it since making this, and done more research, the more I've felt the same. And, thank you for the advice, I think you're completely right. TH-cam is scary, for sure, but hopefully can be rewarding too :) Good luck!
Thus is SO exciting!!! Yesssss!!! 🎉 Just do it!!!😊 Here for the ride & support- two of the best ways to promote yourself (besides TH-cam) are Instagram & local craft shows! Have fun with it!
Wow, thank you!! And, I was just looking into local craft shows this past weekend, I really really want to get into doing those after I get going! Thanks for the advice and support, I really appreciate it :)
Hi! Im also on my journey starting a YT channel. I think you have an amazing voice and style (both outfit and art) 😎 Also the video quality is very crisp :> Hope u will keep going and learning along the way!
In my opinion, if you are the one driving the traffic to your products, you will be 💯 better off using your own website. I sell stickers on Etsy and when I look at all the fees I’ve paid since 2020, it hurts. I get they need to make money but the seller needs a pretty big profit margin to make Etsy worth it. Good luck with everything, I’m excited to see how it goes for you!
Thank you for this comment, I think this and one someone else left really give me the push I need to just focus on using my own site. I think you are 100% right and this is so helpful. Thank you and good luck with your stickers! :)
I want to start my art business too and I find it extremely hard to do anything with a job and a full time school schedule. Also, who was the artist you mentioned?
I would be greatly interested to see the process for your website and shop. I'm a web developer and photographer and wanted to do the same😅 but didn't know where to start. I thought of shopify or linking square to my web page.
I get it! It is a lotttt and super overwhelming. I am going to create a video and really try to make sure it is as easy to follow and not intimidating (but still detailed) outlining what i did. I have a lot of resources to share and hoping I can help with getting over all of the logistics because it sucks that that is what is getting in our way of starting. I hope it will help :) And good luck! I am trying out shopify but have looked into square too and going to include some things on why I chose what i did :) Sorry this is such a long reply haha
Don't sell your stickers short. They're creative and unique, colorful and well-done. There's some good AI stuff out there but you have an edge. You shouldn't have any problem selling them once people become aware that they're available.
I am glad youtube has been recommending me small art channels recently! The editing is great, and it is really nice to see someone starting their journey. I wish you good luck and hope your channel blows up! ヾ(≧▽≦*)o
Thank you so much! I genuinely love watching small art channels and the journey so am beyond excited and happy to hear people might want to follow mine! Thank you!!
Hello! As an illustration student hoping to set up my own small art business myself, I found this video to be really inspiring and encouraging, so thank you for sharing your journey! Regarding your first shop launch, I personally think it might make your shop look more professional and put-together if your launches have themes and/or colour palettes to ensure visual cohesiveness. For example, you seem to have quite a few ocean-based sticker designs, and a few Shiba designs, so maybe you could do an ocean-themed shop launch? a Shib shop launch? I hope this helps! Good luck with your journey, I'm excited to see what you create :)
Wow, thank you! That is great advice and I appreciate the insight :) I hope that maybe going through this process can help you with both inspiration and resources on starting your own. Sounds like you have a lot ahead of you so excited for you, too and good luck! Hoping to see your work and maybe shop too!!
Fellow small time artist , youtuber and sticker seller here wishing you good luck! Im excited to see your journey. New sub 👍

Thank you for this comment, I think this and one someone else left really give me the push I need to just focus on using my own site. I think you are 100% right and this is so helpful. Thank you and good luck with your stickers! :)
good luck on your journey!
Thank you!!
all the best👍
Aw, thanks!!
@NeonShibaStudio no worries about the length of your reply it's much appreciated 😁 can't wait to see the video thanks!
Don't sell your stickers short. They're creative and unique, colorful and well-done. There's some good AI stuff out there but you have an edge. You shouldn't have any problem selling them once people become aware that they're available.
Thank you, that is incredibly nice of you to say and honestly something I needed to hear! I really appreciate it :)
I am glad youtube has been recommending me small art channels recently!
The editing is great, and it is really nice to see someone starting their journey. I wish you good luck and hope your channel blows up!
