I almost bought a design C, but as I already had a silver pen (an old Montegrappa heritage) and didn't have anything in Urushi, I opted for the Namiki Emperor, though it was a tough choice. What I want to know is when is someone going to unleash their talent on pen feeds? Plastic, ebonite, ebonite, plastic, plastic, plastic. This is an aspect of fountain pens that seems stagnant and I don't know why. Rock crystal? Maybe something in blued steel. I'm happy to wait.
Otto Hutt is, besides I don't own still one of their FPs (😢), my favourite pen maker, for the design, intelligent mechanics, and the overall beauty, that stands apart from the most of the others. I hope I can buy one design C and a design 08 as well. I love handwriting, I absolutely love to write, and I love beauty and quality made products. OH is, will be, my favourite. And thanks a lot for your great, great reviews.
Nice presentation. Beautiful, no nonsense designed fountain pen. Extremely clean writing instrument. Love Sterling Silver pens. Wish I owned this model.
Two things. LOVE my DesignC, just wish it had an ink window like the 08. No idea why the deleted that. Also, I KNEW you were going to show the MIH piece when I saw a watch on the table! (Oh, I oiled up my leather case, it's much darker now)
Grew up with my father producing Boxes for Greubel Forsey, Jacob & Co., Omega. Later did my apprentice and worked in Retail in a High End Boutique in Lucerne. And then kept on being involved since with our Family Business we were organizing the SwissCreativeLab during Baselworld hosting brands such as Urwerk, Akrivia, Eberhard, and many more.
Maybe because in pictures and Videos it kind of looks like it's plastic cause they managed to do a very interesting non shining finishing. I can tell you that live it gives completely another perception.
