Years before I moved to France, I came to visit Paris for the first time. I didn't speak French and it was the '90's, so no Google Translate. 😂 My best friend (who is French and had lived in the U.S.) told me that if I ever got lost or needed help to simply ask a police officer. She said, "they aren't like they are in the States...they're not super serious and are usually nice". She even specified the ones with the black uniforms and combat boots, as they're a kind of special task force. One day I couldn't find a specific store in a certain neighborhood and I spotted a group of 4 policemen. And they were in black! So I approached and ask if any of them spoke English. One did and told me the place I was looking for was "CLOSED FOR VACATION & WOULD I LIKE TO GO OUT TOMORROW?" 😮 Caught completely off guard, I asked if he was allowed to ask me that! And this is the best part: He answered, "I'm a man before I'm a POLICE man". LOLOL I've got more, but this is definitely one of my two absolute favorites.
I was once approached by one guy who followed me out of the store and asked me if I’m up for a drink? No thanks , I said, I’m married. That’s no problem, he said, I’m married too 🙃
I’m a flight attendant and have been to France several times. That’s one thing I noticed about French men. They are extremely forward...from immigration officials at the airport to guys at Monoprix. It appears that they don’t like to waste anytime. Germans and Norwegians are the same way; they are attracted to exotic looking women.
I agree...but Italians are on a different level. Those men dont care when, where, or how they approach women. I've even had airport security try it in Italy 😂...and restaurant managers
Ive had a taxi driver divert the route to show me his house, then he dropped me at my flat and tried to carry my groceries up the steps into my apartment. I politely declined, and unloaded everything. By the time I unlocked the door and started struggling up the steps, the taxi driver was hustling into my apartment building with *my* groceries. It would have taken 5 trips to get everything up, but i felt so weirded out i just stopped and sat in the corridor until one of my neighbors got home to help me. Beware of the fit and young taxi drivers, and always carry a self defense tool. These men are crazy.
i am a dutchman living in france, one night, comming back from work, a car with 3 girls pulled up next to me at a traffic light (02h00 am) honking their horn to get my attention, i open the window, and they say "you are beautifull", i say thanks with a smile, light goes green and drive of. then they followed me, like all the way to my house (10 minute drive). i got out, they got out and started asking me what i was doing for the rest of the evening, if i would like to get a drink with them a their place, that their girlfriend is single and likes me.. like... wow... flattering, and thank you, but no thanks
I actually was followed by a man, I realized he was following me when I went to the bathroom and when I came out he was waiting for me. I went directly to the cashier and asked her to keep an I eye on him because I thought he was following me. Then, I saw my friend and had him walk me to my destination, (which was a ways away from where I first noticed the guy following me). When my friend walked with me, the guy disappeared. But when my friend left, the man walked into to where I was and sat down at my table and tried to talk to me. At that point I was angry, and told him off and left.
The craziest one in my opinion was the delivery guy trying to “use the bathroom” that was shady. Also, the older guy in the car. Be careful when getting close to someone’s car. He could have sprayed something on u or threw something at you. Thanks for sharing!

My first trip to Paris, I went out to this club one night with a group of my friends. There were these two guys, the one I was actually looking at came over to me and says Bonjour 👋🏾. I say it back. He then proceeded to put his whole hand on my head. I too was wearing crotchet braids. I was stunned. He was tall too like over six feet but I didn't care not one bit about what I was about to do next. I then proceeded to tell him in English "that you don't ever touch a black woman's hair without her permission.!! Like I don't know you! He's like désolé. I then return the gesture by grabbing his(use your imagination). His face turns red and he's like "okay, okay". I said good. Glad we understand each other and kept it moving. Smh 🤦🏾♀️
I’m currently in the south of France and the first week here I went to Carrefour and some man randomly came up to me asking if I would come to his house in that moment! I have so many stories
I visited Paris a few summers ago and this one man, lets call him Pepe Le Pew. My aunt and I stopped to eat at a restaurant and soon after a local Parisian man and a female companion sat next to us. I'm friendly and love meeting new people so they ended up basically joining us for lunch. Conversation was good. The friend had just met this man too and although she didn't look uncomfortable, I read the table. Shortly before we got up to continue exploring, he says we should go back to his place for drinks and smoke. I say no, we just arrived and want to explore. He then says, he can show us around then head to the next bar. I kept saying no, we good. I live in NYC and know a bit about dodging unwanted guest (LOL). He kept on trying to get us to follow him or him to join us until we just walked away. That was the beginning of many interactions for the 3 days I was in Paris. I have another that was a straight shocker.....At a cafe for a night cap. Not many people around and just had a nice time. The waiter comes with the bill and after I pay says to me " Can I take up upstairs to my house and rub your feet. We can drink Champaign." I couldn't even respond. Just got up and left.
That first story reminded me of that guy who came to my place to install something and was awestruck when I opened the door and blurted : “ I did not expect you to be that pretty “ lmaooo ok lemme move 🤣

I was really afraid of getting out of my comfort zone of my hometown and after finding this channel and being stuck here due to the pandemic I am finally applying to jobs all across the country (: thank you sm!

I had some guy tap me on my shoulder on the bus and he asked me for some change so I gave him some, then he tapped me on my shoulder again and asked me for my number.😂😂😂 This was when I was living in America, luckily when I’m here and a guy starts talking to me I just say, “Je ne parle pas français.”
I used to live in France. One time I went to the mall with some girlfriends. We noticed this Frenchman following us for a good 10 minutes. He kept trying to get my attention (but I wasn't interested). He was at least 30 years older than me too. My friends and I thought he gave up so we went into a boutique to shop for some outfits. While I was in the dressing room, (close to naked) I hear a man's voice right outside the door saying "Hello beautiful, Miss, Miss. How is everything fitting you? You're so beautiful come out and let me see how you look in that dress." My friends and the sales woman overheard him. My friends and the sales woman freaked out (as did I) and yelled at him and pushed him out the store while they called him a creepy perv.
I have to admit, asking someone out in weird situations ( not related to working situations) is perfectly fine. One point for going for what you want but be ready to accept rejection and respectfully walk away 😅
Not just in Paris! In NY this guy approached me and didn't care that I was with a guy. We didn't know that he followed us into the store and when my guy friend was on another aisle, he tried chatting me up again. That really freaked me out. Hey, maybe he was French! 😂
Wow, you have been approached a lot. Dang, you must have been like "What the heck". A guy started walking behind me while I was walking towards the light to cross. Don't ever feel bad about protecting yourself. The last man was the craziest.
I was once hit on by a recruiter for a job. He reached out after seeing my resume online and when I told him I had recently started a new job and was no longer looking, he switched over to flirting with me, saying he could use a classy woman like me in his life. Yikes!
Don't even get me started with Parisian men... lord I'm rocking in my chair just thinking of the semantics games (some of) those men play when they get caught.
Omg every where I went in Paris men kept calling me and my friend chocolat 😂😂 and it was hilarious because we’re both black but really light complexion and all of the men who called us chocolat were dark skinned African men. One night we were looking for the bar Dirty Dick and another African guy walks up to us calling us chocolat and my friend responded no you’re the chocolat. I don’t know who told her to do that but he followed us for blocks trying to talk to us and telling us his life story we even knew where he lived by the time we got to dirty dick. Anyways we get there and he proceeds to come in with us, I lied and told him he had to leave because my husband and her boyfriend was waiting for us inside. He didn’t believe us and came in anyway. We both acted like we needed to use the bathroom and then dipped. We literally ran across the street to a dive looking bar and stayed there for the rest of the night 🤣🤣🤣
Great video tiffanie. We include it on our Besancon Travel Guide for now. When we update Paris Travel Guide will find another place to share your insight with our audience.
Tiffany , ☕ 🌱🌐✌ Enjoyed this...☕💓👜🎬 I was walking down the sidewalk going into a shop. I heard someone blow the horn & say hello beautiful . I turned back to look , he ran in the back of a car. As I'm shopping , guess who walked into the shop ? Him , and Now we are married & he loves telling people how we met. 💡😆🌱🌿♻
😬 the delivery guy that had your intuition pinging was scary! Sounded exactly like one of the serial killer shows on tv that my mom is always watching lol. But f’real, so glad you trusted your intuition in that situation.
Phew chile, that rejection story hurt MY feelings. Also, I didn't realize the 'use the bathroom' thing is common. I had a guy try that with me in Korea too.
@Janiquestar Its interesting that when a man in the USA approaches women you all would be calling it toxic masculinity and street harassment but in France seems like some women think its cute. SMH.
I was once approached by a guy driving around my neighborhood Walmart which is in a strip plaza. I was loading my groceries in my trunk and he stopped by me in his Chrystler 300 and told me I was sexy and he wanted to go out with me. I told him I was married with 3 kids. He said he didn't mind and would I like a boyfriend? I told him no, that I would lose my mind with him as a boyfriend, plus my husband and kids. He still told me I was sexy and if I changed my mind, I could call him!!! He still patrols around my neighborhood Kohl's plaza and I know his car. What a wolf. That dude who wanted to use your bathroom was up to no good. That sounds really scary. But, my mom's friend always says that" is better to be looked over than overlooked! "
I have had a guy get about eight inches from my face on the bus, and he put his hands on either side of the handle bars of my seat and said to me “I don’t mean to scare you, but you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my life!” It was creepy because of his closeness to me and I was only 14. I stopped taking that bus route.
Living in London. The guy from the phone company who came to install my phone. Afterwards, he asked if he could call me sometime! I was like , uh, NO. He says, “but I already have your number.” So I said, in that case, HELL NO!
People who've never been to France: French men are all so romantic! People who live in France: "Questionable ways French men have approached me" (and have enough experiences to make a quality video recounting them😅) All of my crazy moments with French men were either at the supermarket or at the club.
Supermarket I never would have thought that...Club I have my B....Face on so I am more observant and didn't have crazy stuff step up on me...but the Supermarket ?? maybe because your/my "guard" is down...(??)
My 1st few trips to France, but mainly in Paris, N African guys would say, what I thought was hey cousine! Aww, my African cousins are being friendly! The 3rd trip, was crazy with the amount of men who were saying this. So, I asked the receptionist in my hotel. I did my best to repeat what they were saying in French. No, they were not calling my cousin (fem). No, they were asking if I would like to have cuisine? Like, do you want go somewhere with me to be alone? Shocked! I was hearing this constantly!
@@Nubianette Arab guys/people often call Africans "cousin", or "cousine" if it's a woman. There is nothing naughty there. They though you were African. The naughty may come after "cousine", though... The hôtel employee didn't understand, or didn't know this custom if he/she is not from Arab or African culture.
As a french person... The mail man thing.... I HAD THIS HAPPENED TO ME.... except dude straight up stalked me on facebook and kept on messaging me! is that a french thing?! Haha 😂
Nah. That's called a stalker and that happened to a friend of mine in Switzerland. She had to stop using facebook for a while, then after a few years she moved apartments and changed her facebook name. She said is was a creepy experience for her and the police couldn't do much but just give him their version of a restraining order to not come close to my friend.
I think if you were a gay man you'd have a lot more and even crazier experiences lmao one of my more memorable experiences was living in Lisbon, it was like 3 AM, walking home from the club, and as I am crossing the street this guy in his car waiting for the light to turn green honks his horn at me and tries to get my attention. He seemed cute but approaching a random guy in a car late at night wasn't really my vibe, but I appreciated the attention. Man my 20s were fun.
Lol I’m dying at this. I’m sorry the boys made you feel uncomfortable but this is unfortunately normal. Every time I’m in Paris weird things happen to me. One time when was I was at the Bastille metro leaving the club, this guy was hollering at me and I just ignored him. But then this man FOLLOWED ME through the Corridors of the metro (and if you been to Paris you know that they can be a Labyrinth down there) just to ask for my number. I was like *in French* sir, it’s 5am, I don’t know you please stop following me and begging me. Leave me alone! But he was still pressed. It was crazy. The French boys love to be all dramatic and breathy when they don’t even know you. The US boys don’t get all crazy until they know you lol . But I feel you girl. I feel you
Years ago, I took my now husband's car to get an oil change. As I was leaving I noticed that one of the guys had left a note for me in the car with his number.
You’ve acted very prudently and politely. Man. Those are truly some weird interactions- especially the guy who asked to use your bathroom. Remain sober and vigilant.
I had a man approach me when buying bread at the supermarket. I was so distracted I didn’t even remember the bread in the end. He started to call me beautiful, asking for my number and asked me out. And tried to drop me off home, but told him I have a car. I only gave him my Snapchat as he wouldn’t leave, but then trying to exit the store I notice he’s in the car behind me as I’m driving out. I hoped he didn’t notice it’s me but he does, and to my luck I end up stopping at 3 red lights on my way home, each time with him being right next to me at every red light. He winds his window down blowing kisses at me, saying I’m beautiful, shouting at me to wind my window down so I can hear and talk to him, but I’m pretending not to hear cos I wanna go home. lol he didn’t stop shouting, luckily he turned a different way when I was nearly home, then continued to Snapchat me non stop. Safe to say he was blocked on snap and haven’t heard from him since :)
🤣🤣🤣 I am so sorry for you !! As french living in USA I hunderstand your feelings lol a lot of hollywood clichés about french being Romantic. Was true in the 60 but not anymore.
dear people of the usa coming to france in paris: clubs and streets are full of weirdos and many of them are not french educated nor french. nice guys are busy and most left paris a pretty long time ago!
You had me cackling at all the names you came up with for these men!! 😂 The love in the club guy sounded like some jersey shore s*** tho 😂 some guys shouldn't drink 😂 smh!
Hey, Tiffany😁. I'm a new subscriber and I love your videos😍. I want to visit France when I get my bachelor's degree🤗. But I wanted to ask if you knew there reason for the high leves of domestic violence in France🤔?, because that really worries me😥 specially since all I hear are good things about the french men.
Domestic violence levels are actually not that much higher than elsewhere. We've been running campaigns for years to enable and and encourage women to report them therefore they are simply more reported than in many countries where they are perpetrated silently.
There is no "are we exclusive" talk , which is fine for this canadian girl who got tired the toronto drake wanna bs! I grabbed my frenchie in a Marseille minute! ha!
@@startpage717 right they could have just said "your hair is beautiful." SMH little do they know many white and other women wear extensions, clip ins, etc all the time.
Something very similar happened to me there I was minding my own business in the butchers shop buying my meat and as I came out this man literally cornered me asking if he could talk to me.i found it creepy the way he stood in front of me like that I simply say I'm busy right now and flew like a bird in the sky to get away from him 😂 so I definitely can relate for sure.positivity peace and love 💛

That first delivery guy is creepy. The car guy, I've seen that happen but mostly to tourists / foreigners. They know Parisians are not having that kind of BS.
I have never ever experienced men and their pick up tries like I have in Paris and most of Italy!!! I always always meet the Algerian French and look that’s ok .. I’d love to meet a nice hearted French man . They are all full on and lie immediately to your face . One guy was clearly French trying to tell me he grew up in America and he’s not really French he’s American Meanwhile he’s wearing the Frenchest outfit ever and the accent .. Hahah he had a new tourist friend he met they were having wine and invited me on the pont de Tornerelle to have wine . So I thought one drink ok . But then he stated talking to two new Canadian girls and we all went to tour Eiffel and a Irish bar near st Michel for shots ha but I was supposed to hook up with the tourist friend and he fancied one of the Canadian girls . Oh so weird so I left and went to New York restaurant on Avenue de New York Bonjour Bonjour Bonjour lol after a while change it up man ha ! Give a new line a try ! You must point out the public Restrooms as I never can see . I always order an espresso just so I can pee and it gets expensive ha The worst encounter was in Milan on the train where the ticket dude asked my friend to go in the bathroom with him and poor girl had no Italian comprehension and I had to intervene and tell him to go a way !! I her been followed by a French guy in rue de Republique , an old homeless drunk man on the train from Niemes to Avignon , a drunk guy in Pau , and guy on a bike in Pau on the same night also in London and in Milan . Girls stay safe !!
Here's my creepy story. A few years ago when buying a christmas tree a few blocks from my home in the 20eme the store clerk walked out with me and said "we deliver for free" "please let me help you". The tree was heavy so I said okay. He went back into the store to tell the other person. When we got to my door just a block away he said to me " are you married?" I said yes, then he said "well if you want to have someone else in your life I can be that guy". OMG I looked at him and said "no, I'm fine" and handed him some $ for the delivery but he said no, no, thats fine. but if you change your mind you know where I'm at." ewww (he spoke in french, I am translating, but that was so creepy. Its so crazy how you can't even trust someone who pretends to be nice.

It's scary being a woman you have to be so careful out in these streets I've experienced some similar stories here in America. I remember a security guard at my job would constantly flurt with me and leave notes on my car, I wasn't interested in him at all it was apparent but he didn't care. I would try to avoid him but he would keep trying he made me really uncomfortable. I was so glad he got terminated for an unrelated incident, so I didn't have to worry about him anymore.
Not for everyone.
I remember an old man tries to approach my wife right in front of me in Paris. I guess if you have an attractive wife, people will try ...
💀💀
Not just in Paris! In NY this guy approached me and didn't care that I was with a guy. We didn't know that he followed us into the store and when my guy friend was on another aisle, he tried chatting me up again. That really freaked me out. Hey, maybe he was French! 😂
@@deniaridley yikes that’s creepy.
The way I haven’t watched this video yet but already feel like I can relate 💀 had some unique experiences during my tenure in France
LOL!! Listennn - feel free to share I'd love to hear them :)
I have too many! but one man proceeded to tell the whole town he loved me after I only knew him for maybe 3 weeks :) that was a journey.
Yes. The men in france are so forward!
Wow, you have been approached a lot. Dang, you must have been like "What the heck". A guy started walking behind me while I was walking towards the light to cross. Don't ever feel bad about protecting yourself. The last man was the craziest.
Right you never know!! Glad I trusted myself ;)
I was once hit on by a recruiter for a job. He reached out after seeing my resume online and when I told him I had recently started a new job and was no longer looking, he switched over to flirting with me, saying he could use a classy woman like me in his life. Yikes!
I have literally binged your videos. I am so thankful I found your channel. You have definitely inspired me to make the move abroad.
Lol. Stay safe Tiffany. 😊 It's a trip out in the real world these days.
Don't even get me started with Parisian men... lord I'm rocking in my chair just thinking of the semantics games (some of) those men play when they get caught.
LOL
LOL OMG!!!
It might have happened because of a popular song Chocolat by L"Artiste. It was the jam a few summers ago. The video is on YT.
Great video tiffanie. We include it on our Besancon Travel Guide for now. When we update Paris Travel Guide will find another place to share your insight with our audience.
Tiffany , ☕ 🌱🌐✌ Enjoyed this...☕💓👜🎬
I was walking down the sidewalk going into a shop. I heard someone blow the horn & say hello beautiful . I turned back to look , he ran in the back of a car. As I'm shopping , guess who walked into the shop ? Him , and Now we are married & he loves telling people how we met. 💡😆🌱🌿♻
OMG I love this story!!!
Wahhhh so creepy!
So, which guy was your favorite?! 😂 And what's the funniest way that someone has tried to approach you? Can't wait to hear your stories!!
@Janiquestar Hahaha love it!!
@Janiquestar Its interesting that when a man in the USA approaches women you all would be calling it toxic masculinity and street harassment but in France seems like some women think its cute. SMH.
New subbie hereee 👋🏽 I’m hoping to visit Paris by end of year so I’m binging your videos! 🤍
Hi Tiff, I'm "older " by your definition, LOL! You are so entertaining ✌🏾🙋🏾♀️
Lol!! I just meant older than me hahaha. Glad you enjoyed!
Living in London. The guy from the phone company who came to install my phone. Afterwards, he asked if he could call me sometime! I was like , uh, NO. He says, “but I already have your number.” So I said, in that case, HELL NO!
People who've never been to France: French men are all so romantic!
People who live in France: "Questionable ways French men have approached me" (and have enough experiences to make a quality video recounting them😅)
All of my crazy moments with French men were either at the supermarket or at the club.
Lol!!! So true!! 😂😂😂
LOL!!! Omg this is too funny!!
@@TiffanieDavis This was mid 90’s to early 00’s. I can still remember some of the guys faces. I thought they were being so nice! No, naughty!
@@Nubianette ...
You know you look good when your hair looks crazy and he's still like, "Yeah baby! I could do it!" Lol
OMG Tiff! Ces histoires sont si drôles. J'adore les noms ! Btw, Mr. FBI needs to have several seats!
Hahahah merciii :). LOL right ... SEVERAL!
As a french person... The mail man thing.... I HAD THIS HAPPENED TO ME.... except dude straight up stalked me on facebook and kept on messaging me! is that a french thing?! Haha 😂
OMG so creeepy!!!!
Nah. That's called a stalker and that happened to a friend of mine in Switzerland. She had to stop using facebook for a while, then after a few years she moved apartments and changed her facebook name. She said is was a creepy experience for her and the police couldn't do much but just give him their version of a restraining order to not come close to my friend.
..
Hi Tiffanie!! Great video...
I feel you
Hello, was doing my internship in a company and was getting small sticky notes on my desk everyday asking me out !!! :-D
Years ago, I took my now husband's car to get an oil change. As I was leaving I noticed that one of the guys had left a note for me in the car with his number.
I like the one with the girl free who took your phone. 👍🏽 Drama 😆🤣😂
LOL! I was like WHAT is happening!!
You’ve acted very prudently and politely. Man. Those are truly some weird interactions- especially the guy who asked to use your bathroom. Remain sober and vigilant.
7:57 damn giiiirl you are a boyfriend stealer lol! 🤣
The FBI and Special Delivery guys were just too much.
What are the Paris Sales? 😍 Shopping-lover here!
Even if I.m French, the nice thing is to have the names of all the good hype places in Paris, that's really great🙏🏾
🤣🤣🤣 I am so sorry for you !! As french living in USA I hunderstand your feelings lol a lot of hollywood clichés about french being Romantic. Was true in the 60 but not anymore.
dear people of the usa coming to france in paris: clubs and streets are full of weirdos and many of them are not french educated nor french. nice guys are busy and most left paris a pretty long time ago!
j'ai adoré ta video !!!! good content ! i'm crying ! we are not all weirdos here btw . xo
Tiffany these stories kill me 😂 😂 lorrrrrrd 🤦🏾♀️
So funny, but some of these men are aggressive & scary! Also that delivery guy was unprofessional, should be reported to his boss.
As you are stil young and American in Europe, it’s common men are interested, at least you have stories to remember when old and grumpy 🤣
Love your sweater!
I think I speak for many people when I say, we would like to hear some stories of your fondly thought of interactions with men. Thank you
Everything before the bar scenario are very normal. The delivery guy was cute.
I love your hair. I don't know if I can pay attention to what you're saying, lol.
In India and in France, girls should be extra aware of creepy approaching guys😅
That sweater! Jadore ❤️
GIRL the bathroom one. No no no no no no no no so glad u said NO. He's a grown man who can find a bathroom or go by a tree!!!
Thank you for responding to my comment. I'm glad the women speak up and have the freedom to do so😊
There is no "are we exclusive" talk , which is fine for this canadian girl who got tired the toronto drake wanna bs! I grabbed my frenchie in a Marseille minute! ha!

If you think these are that weird you haven't been in NYC long enough
#6 was super creepy lol. That has happened to me before...l’homme est bizarre
Sooo creepy!!!
"L'homme est bizarre " ou cet "homme était bizarre " ? It's not the same meaning .
Has anyone dated a French man long distance? I’m curious
Mr. Special Delivery was trying to scope your place out. Could've hurt you too.
Oh so weird so I left and went to New York restaurant on Avenue de New York
Bonjour Bonjour Bonjour lol after a while change it up man ha ! Give a new line a try !
You must point out the public Restrooms as I never can see . I always order an espresso just so I can pee and it gets expensive ha
The worst encounter was in Milan on the train where the ticket dude asked my friend to go in the bathroom with him and poor girl had no Italian comprehension and I had to intervene and tell him to go a way !!
I her been followed by a French guy in rue de Republique , an old homeless drunk man on the train from Niemes to Avignon , a drunk guy in Pau , and guy on a bike in Pau on the same night also in London and in Milan . Girls stay safe !!
lol
Always be aware of your surroundings, always trust your gut intuition...and always know where to properly hit a creepy individual. #yayeet
I say sir and ma’am too 😂😂
Here's my creepy story.
He just give it a try . Some girls say...OK ! 😁
How did you meet your current guy ?
At her apartment viewing 😂
Yeah Crazy but be safe...FBI and the Toilet Guy...no no no (actually all of them no really Lol)
I think the delivery guy asking to use the bathroom was creepy that would have freaked me out.
