Figuring out what the story was with this car was more fun than putting the starter on ha. I was hoping it would have been a legit clock on the car, but oh well. It smelled like armpit and cheap cigars and cigarettes inside. Thanks again for the entertaining few days. What a trip!! Ha.
I had a young in law who was in the black car business in the east coast. He said that on some of the Town Cars they got over 800k miles before they replaced them. He said they normally would never keep a car in service that long - except that customers kept requesting Town Cars. So they kept maintaining and servicing them. Oil changes just about weekly, transmission service every 30k mikes. Unlike this 933k mile example, they kept theirs looking good paint body and interior. All I know is that my beautiful 2006 Presidential Edition (Signature Limited) only has 144 k mikes and will likely outlast me (I’m in my 60’s).
Glad you’re back Al! Those panthers are bulletproof. I’m looking for an older Ford truck with a 4.6. Not the most powerful option but the darn things never die!
@@GregoryB-p7r one of the few conditions that Ford gave the engineers that developed it was that it had to be built on the current modular production line. That means it's a modular V8 like the 4.6. As a matter of fact they started with the Cobra DOHC 4.6 as their baseline and went from there. But they knew from the start it would have the 5 liter displacement just so it could have the legendary 5 point OH name. Although it's a modular for production, so much changed that Ford gave it its own engine family name, Coyote.
Police cars were usually purchased by taxi companies when they were decommissioned and would go sometimes 8 or 900,000 miles. I have one with 500,000. The Town Car rides on the same chassis. GREAT VIDEO!
Good to see you again Al, been tooo long! It’s just behind Matt Farah’s LS400! Well done figuring out it’s history - that interior is way too clean for that sort of mileage. That chime when you turn the key is pure Volvo - my 2005 V70 sounds identical but back then Ford owned Volvo so make sense that parts were shared. Great video😊
I was a airport shuttle driver from Sedona Arizona to Sky Harbor in Phoenix, we had 2 town cars hitting close to a million miles that were still running when the business closed in 2021,I've got 2 of them with about 150000 miles, love em
Dude where have you been? Nice to see you’re uploading new content again. Too bad about the Lincoln’s history…wouldn’t the auction take it back given the VIN issues?
Humm VIN swapping can get you major time in the Pen.... Wouldn't want to be the person who did that. Cool video though always interesting what the history is.Alway enjoy your videos Al.
a ford panther platform car with 900k miles? im not surprised at all! the city i live in they local taxi company has a ton of crown vics n a lot of those had 750k plus n were still runnin fine! i used to ride them for doctors appointments n stuff as my insurance would give me free rides with them...
I know that car it used to run all over Sarasota. I remember seeing it after it the ass end got plowed. I bet that car can drive itself backwards and blind to Tampa International!!
My question would be why would somebody take the time to do this on a car that was virtually worthless in 2020. It is still amazing the cluster still reads the miles after all this time.
Well look who's back... I was thinking of you the other day. So... Is this the 1st and last Taxi you ever buy from Copart? This purchase was a bold move. My 1st assumption when I saw the wheels was that they pulled a bunch of good parts before sending it away. I used to work for a Limo company, lots of shady things go on.
I Absolutely Believe over 900 cause a few years back I saw a one of the 1st years Black Navigator at Auction that was a used as Car Rode Service and the auctioneer said this one Went around the Block 9 Times so yes i Believe its over 900.000.
Figuring out what the story was with this car was more fun than putting the starter on ha.

reprogram that odometer back to the 118k! since thats the actual miles of it!
It’s about time you come back around! Missed ya
AL!!! You cannot leave us for 7 months again!!
It’s about damn time!! Glad to see you’re back and doing something other than a Caddy!

That Modular V8 is one of the best engines Ford ever made. It lives on today as the Coyote 5.0.
really the 5.0 is similar to the 4.6??

4.6 is the coyotes grandfather..
Good to see your back Big AL 🎬🚘👍. Thanks for posting guys.✌️🫡

Was starting to worry about you dude! Glad to see you’re back!
Great to see you back. We missed you! 🎉

4.6 is the greatest motor ever made..
I had to debate 4.6 or 5.7 I’d say 5.7 faster 4.6 waaay more reliable
Big Al has been MIA for months, glad you are back and "this Bud's for you" 🍻 👍😎
I think they removed a ton of parts before sending it to the sale! Good to see you back on TH-cam!
Dang this was from a town over I grew up in. Good old Sarasota. I just got my first panther platform car last week
Pretty cool sleuthing! I googled the business name on this car and the yelp listing shows this actual car with the “33” on the side.
Welcome back definitely missed you
Welcome back I understand how crazy life can become. Glad to see a new video.
He's back with a bang!!
Thanks Pal!
Hey Randy !!!!

Welcome back Al!!! Thank you for putting that car out of its misery.
Wow that Town Car has seen some stuff esp with all that VIN swapping 😮
I’m glad you are back. Have a great day.
neat video... very interesting story on this car....It is still a beautiful car regardless...
The man is back! And with a Panther!
And theres me thinking CSI Miami had been cancelled , great video .
It’s good to have you back making more content! I hope you got a new camera for Christmas! Miss you Big Al! Hope you keep making more content to come!
Love the daily upload schedule! But on a serious note, very glad to see you're back.
I was a airport shuttle driver from Sedona Arizona to Sky Harbor in Phoenix, we had 2 town cars hitting close to a million miles that were still running when the business closed in 2021,I've got 2 of them with about 150000 miles, love em
Nick is a really decent friend and class act as a person Al. I am glad to see him there.
Prob swapped the trans out with a core before turning it over to Copart.
I didn’t want to accuse anyone of anything in this video but that is the most likely possibility
Man that sucks, but thank you for the video. And delayed thanks for being back, Al
AL!!!!! You were missed! Glad to see a new upload, and hope all has been well!
Nice to see a video from you again, Al. Thanks for the post.
Dude where have you been? Nice to see you’re uploading new content again. Too bad about the Lincoln’s history…wouldn’t the auction take it back given the VIN issues?
I got what I needed off it for my other town car and junked it, perfectly acceptable outcome for me.
Welcome Back AL I was about ready to contact Anthony and find out if you were still Amongst the Living 😅
I’ve been asking Anthony for months !
Glad to see ya back, Al!!! I've missed your videos.
Awesome Video, Bro! Thoroughly enjoyed it.
First Off Glad Ur Back Well Big Al Next Seeing A Lincoln Panther Near One Million Miles Is Crazy.
Al buddy! Glad to see your not dead! Always good to see a fellow former New Hampshirite LOL
Humm VIN swapping can get you major time in the Pen.... Wouldn't want to be the person who did that. Cool video though always interesting what the history is.Alway enjoy your videos Al.
It's been a long time but I'm so glad you finally dropped a new video. You're one of my favorite TH-camrs

It would make one hell of a demo derby car.
Doesn’t drive lol
@@bigalsbikeandautoNot a Crown Vic, but similar. Crown Vics are pretty popular in the demo derby community.
Good to see you back 🥰
you're back!!! 🥳 great to see you again brother
Holy smokes that's incredible!!! Even more interesting plot twist!
Glad to see you back!
Glad you are back Big Al. Just curious..Can those mileage/instrument clusters be manipulated to show increased/decreased mileage?
From what Nick told me no
Is it the 20000 subs give away car? I have mixed feelings. Congrats!
😂
I know that car it used to run all over Sarasota. I remember seeing it after it the ass end got plowed. I bet that car can drive itself backwards and blind to Tampa International!!
Yes it probably does 900k plus!!
So now that the car was VIN swapped, did Al got in trouble and that’s why he was missing for 7 months 😮
Not me that would be in trouble lol I was an unsuspecting buyer.
im thinking cab companies dont stop using cars until they are a goner...im sure all the life has been used out of that car lol
Definitely
Big Al I really missed your videos please upload more 😁
Hey buddy glad to see you back brother
7 month vacation from TH-cam boy that was a bummer. Good your back
That’s not surprising! Lincoln’s used for cabs and Uber and limo services get 1 mil miles then they toss them!
My question would be why would somebody take the time to do this on a car that was virtually worthless in 2020. It is still amazing the cluster still reads the miles after all this time.
It was a taxi ..🚕 could easily have 900k !
They've never seen the million mile crown Vic 😅😂 these cars run forever.
Welcome back fella
Well look who's back... I was thinking of you the other day. So... Is this the 1st and last Taxi you ever buy from Copart? This purchase was a bold move. What a crazy story on this Town Car. Love them though, but maybe not this one.
Man I couldn't believe when I saw the notification, I tried adding you on Facebook. Super stoked your doing good brother
I Absolutely Believe over 900 cause a few years back I saw a one of the 1st years Black Navigator at Auction that was a used as Car Rode Service and the auctioneer said this one Went around the Block 9 Times so yes i Believe its over 900.000.
What's up Big Al!
What’s up Todd!
Since the vin history is so shotty you outta see about using it in the Freedom 500 as a race car
Bad transmission, I scrapped it at end of video
welcome back Al💯👍
Jeez, where you been my man? It's been 84 years 😂
BAs back! 🎉
Cluster must have been from a taxi or something ? Maybe you can sell a few parts off of it and scrap the rest !
That’s what I did
Advise. Don't buy other parts before checking engine and gearbox out.
Junk yard was next to Copart. And all parts were returned with no hassle afterwards.
Missed your videos man!!
He's back baby!
WTF Big Al lives!!!!!
Couple motors, few transmissions lol
The prodigal has returned!!
I think copart would’ve taken the car back after you found out it was a vin swap situation. They could probably get into legal trouble if they didn’t.
The elusive Big Al has awaken
ABOUT TIME BIG AL
That starer is the worst!
Took me longer to get the starter out on my 2001 than it did for me to change the engine!
Nice to see you Big Al
Welcome back Al
Hi, Al. Welcome back
Welcome back 😊
BIG AL IS BACK LET'S GOOOOOO
Good to see ya!
These are decent cars !!
If you google the name on the side you can see this car in the the photos on yelp
Yeahhh! We missed you!
Great Video
FINALLY, WE MISSED YOU.
Yeah, good video Al.
Holy cow!
Great video.
