We will attempt to get them started, driving, and back to the house. Will these start for the first time in 18 years? Will they drive under their own power for the first time in 18 years? Will NikkiT and JC finally have a car they would enjoy? All these questions answered on this episode of RevStoration.

Rev, I haven't watched the video yet but I wanted to tell you the Pinto remains my favorite car. I had one as a 16 year old and many after that. While people today love complexity in their cars, I love simplicity.

Mustang II, Pintos, Mavericks, Ford sure was horsing around in the 70’s.
I’ll bet those shoes get more miles put on them than those Pintos, LOL!
Actually, these have become rare cars, you never see them, even at shows. It’ll be nice to see them cleaned up. Unique find, Rev, sounds like you bought them right.

Talk her into driving it once. I had a 73 pinto runabout years ago. I absolutely loved it. One word of advice, if you put 8 adults in it, beware. The rear fenders will rub the tires. Oh, and don't hit any bumps.

When I was a teenager I almost bought a pinto like the runabout you got except light blue with a automatic it was actually in great shape it was probably a 10 year old car now back then people laughed at Pinto’s but I wanted a car so bad I do care what it was then a few days later found a lime green white interior Pontiac Grand Prix it was a 1975-76 one of those years and I bought it instead so seeing the pinto brought back some memories

I had a '73 Pinto squire wagon that was given to me by my Father in Law I drove it to work for about a year and the transmission went out on it so I donated it. But my wood grain paneling looked good on both sides and as a matter of fact my Pinto Squire had the same green paint job as yours. Ah yes memories of long ago and I traded up quite a bit further than that now. But its always good to see you get those old cars running. Thanks for another great video Rev.

I had a squire back in the 80’s as my work car. Really enjoyed it. The timing belt is very easy to change and should be the first thing you do on both of them. Had three of those engines, the squire and two Rangers. Always had real good luck with all of them.

Hi Rev and the Ole Man. You did well there with these two. I am surprised that the rubber cam belt didn't break after all the time they have been standing. Cam belt breakage was very common on Ford pinto engines in the UK in the 70s and 80s. Great stuff as always and another enjoyable video. Cheers Chris.

I think I talked about the 76 Pinto run-a-bout I had , but it was a V-6 auto that had duel pipes pulled back to 2 resonators then into 1 muffler . Took it to the muffler shop has it duels all the way back to Monza mufflers at the right side , it sure opened that car up so it could breath . It had 2 cad converters , 2 resonators, then 1 big muffler , it was choked down .

Friend of mine use to have a red one just like your blue one . He cleaned out every ditch in Tallahatchie county in the early 90’s. He would get wound up on a few Old Milwaukee Best and run in ditches. We use say the county should send him a check for keeping the ditches clean.

Pintos are kind of a guilty pleasure car of mine. I think they get too much hate. Gotta love old vehicles. They can sit for a long time then fire up like they were parked yesterday.

    I had 2 Pintos.
My first was a red '75 Runabout hatchback with absolutely no power anything.
    No air
    Manual 4 speed
    Manual brakes
    Manual steering
My second was a 1977 Runabout full glass hatchback with air, power steering and brakes.
Flew to Oklahoma to buy and drove back to Michigan.
    2.3 litre engines in both.
I ran the doo doo outta both and were some of the easiest engines to service.
    Thanks for the memories.

My friend SAM TAFLINGER up here in southern Indiana had the 2300cc engine rebuilt next step up camshaft and the American 4-speed transmission with a 2:73-1 rear gear ratio. In second gear he was already doing 55-miles an hour. His little pinto out ran my Ford Pinto I couldn’t even catch up to him and I had a 4-speed German transmission and I had a 2000cc engine with a 3:8-1 gears ⚙️ in the rear axle. And I had the pedal to the floor. And we still had the factory two bbl carb’s on the engine’s all rebuilt.
