Hey Pravus , i have played this mod before once and i believe that everything until 1914 is defined by events that are ment to keep everything historical (just saying it so you know)
if you declare war on turkey you spawn 5 infantery divisions in lybia and it is an automatic peace treatry

As Transport ship says +5 I'm assuming that the reason you can do ten is that you could originally only do five and it added five more.
I was a bit puzzled when he accidentally managed to assign a sixth unit to the invasion but when he hovered over the tech later, the tooltip made it clear.
IIRC the base game tells you the new maximum for each tech so it's an understandable mistake. Maybe the mod has other modifiers too?

If you are going to do another play through of this style I recommend very heavily to use the Great War redux mod as it adds a lot more alternate history and in-depth focus trees
Avoid the temptation of the allies, change history and join the central powers

Something to make your life a little easier, if you double click a division in a army group it will select every division of that type in said army group.
Time to make El Duce proud
Pravus if you build 14 x 4 siege arty you will blow through enemy divisions. Spam 10w divs to guard ports and to fill the line. Remember stack Soft Attack as much as possible. Regular field arty is too weak in my opinion. Others may disagree I would like to hear their opinions as well
Also spoiler the AI will spam 10w divisions like crazy

Be carefull in libya don't lose or an event ends the war if you win early you take libya, Rodes and one island.

I noticed the amount of tech available to research makes me think this mod plays like Victoria 2 (i.e. potentially a very long game), or at least from what I've seen

The fact that you have to research naval invasion in vanilla Hoi4 is a bit dumb, naval invasion already was a thing in the great war and before that.
In this mod you can always do a naval invasion.

Edit: You don't know much about italy during the great war, do you? (Italy sided with the allies historically)
(Also I recommend that you get a lot of submarines as in the early war german submarines destroyed ridiculous amounts of shipping)
Pravus, I think Italy might be getting some minor reworks in the new HOI 4 expansion. Also are you going to do a series on the new expansion?

Hey Pravus, Your audio keeps peaking. It gives some static crackle at the top and the EQs are peircing, like I can feel them peircing my ear drums. Love your HoI4 playthroughs though.
You should try Germany. I did a while ago and the western front was basically impossible.
the historical route is alliance with France and war with Austria and Germany. If you want a non-historical game you should ally with Germany

The Cult of the Offensive stuff is a reference to how strategies were not up to date with the weapons when WWI started, that's why it's terrible

Easy jokes on Cadorna but it’s not like many other generals during that war were much better than him… Also the entire military establishment was far more interested in the administration of people than winning the war… All this to say that he was far from the only thing that didn’t allow Italy to win the war earlier than it did.
This mod is okay, but it's extremely railroaded. WW1 happens no matter what you do, even if Serbia decides to cave in to the Austro-Hungarian demands. Not only that, but the focus trees look almost identical. Deluge mod also suffers from this, with all focus trees being basically a template, and only political/expansion branches being slightly different.
Not only that, bust most tech and national focuses don't even have proper descriptions. Balance can also be a problem, with so many different technologies and regular amount of research slots it's easy to just fall behind in many tech, especially if you're a minor nation.
For a mod that's been around for years, it's a shame that not enough work is put into it. Great War Redux actually has more options for countries, some of which involve avoiding the world war for a while, or even major countries choosing to back different faction (like Russia actually approaching Germany). There's basically a scenario which can lead to Kaiserreich world, and it's not as railroaded as this mod.

I mean, IRL WW1 was going to happen anyway, regardless of whether Serbia caved or not.
So, I don't necessarily see that as a negative against the mod. Especially since it's still work in progrees
@@craniusdominus8234 Yes, but Serbia caving shouldn't have been an excuse for war. In this mod, no matter what Serbia does, it's a world war. France and Russia just declare. In the Redux version, the World War is only delayed, and there are more possible triggers for the world war, some can even happen without Serbia, before the assassination. The assassination can be easily avoided (just like in real life), Austria can choose not to pursue war (just like she could in real life), Germany can go into conflict with France in the Moroccan crisis (an event which almost started the world war). But no. July crisis is the start of the world war in this mod, no matter what.
I've played the Redux version, Serbia was invited by Austria to become a crownland and was given territories of Croatia and Bosnia and became Illyria.
The world war started because of the conflict in China, in early 1916, with Central Powers backing one side, and Entente the other in the conflict.
As for work in progress, it's been a work in progress for almost as long as HoI4 exists (that's like 5 years now). Great War Redux, which is barely 2 years old, has more content, flavor and options than the original mod. Not to mention that the things this mod focuses on are graphics (portraits mostly, as well as national focus icons, company icons etc.) and some localization, instead of actual content. The mod almost hasn't changed at all for 5 years. Meanwhile, the Redux version keeps adding new content and actual flavor, to make the playthroughs more different. It might be unfair to use Kaiserreich as an example, but that's the actual mod that has effort in it, with each playthrough being unique and almost every nation being fun to play, with different paths.
That is one handsome face to fit the voice.

So you know, your 3080 does barley anything in HOI4. It's a CPU intensive game.
You would not be able to kill the ottomans this mod is heavily scripted to make sure that you have the right people in the alliance
