Cobra airforce t-shirt was an interesting bit of foreshadowing????
I like the rollouts and I don't have a lot of complaints with things. A number of people in the Hasbro live chat seemed surprised that Alpine didn't have a backpack. I feel certain that third party creators are going to take advantage and offer "upgrades" for all of his roll out though. GridIron already does.
Can't wait for the Retro Cobra Commander! He's a MUST HAVE, obviously! The Retro Stalker is fantastic, and I like the Retro Cobra soldier as well, but yeah--I also want to see it with the red mask! Gonna probably paint mine red, anyway, knowing good and well if I'm patient Hasbro will probably offer one with the red eventually. lol.
Gotta say that I wish that the camo pattern on Storm Shadow's mask wasn't symmetrical and intentional like this. The point of camouflage is to allow characters to blend in to their environment, and to that end, the camo patterns need to be random. This kind of symmetrical design is sort of counterintuitive to that, as the symmetry is meant to make an artistic statement and draws attention to his head. Not very tactical, and I'm not a fan of that, really.

I’m ok with Alpine not having a backpack. Hasbro has been having issues with the backpack, because either it doesn’t stay on or is too back heavy, like the Tunnel Rat version 1, or a Cobra Viper backpack. Hasbro needs to do better than that. The Retro Cobra Commander is a good figure, especially with the vac metal face plate, but I think the political b.s. surrounding the hood is silly, but you can thank the director of the Snake Eyes Origins for his thinking about how the hood is representing the KKK due to the fact that he never saw the cartoon in 1984, and how he has stereotyped hooded cobra commander due to his silly nonsensical political beliefs and political ideology.
Gridiron studios already has 2 separate load outs for Alpine, one of which was released today
I really the Cobra Trooper and Stalker but it would have been nice if they had punching hands. I’m still in for both
They can use his climbing gear for Hit n Run and Tracker
Iron grenadier demon tank for haslab. With driver, destro, and a roudy Roddy piper it would sale in a heartbeat!
Love your stuff Chris! Was travelling during the livestream. Your insight and the comments from the fans is always great. I'm so amped for the retro trooper. Since I started collecting later in the classified run, I missed out on retail of the Cobra Island and Cobra Trooper versions. I love them, but can't justify that huge cost that they're going for in aftermarket. I'm getting as many as I can. I think all the stuff in this run looks sweet. My only real disappointment is Stalker. Sure that paint is cool, but that's the only difference. I would have liked to seen something besides paint done to make a figure Retro.
If we get Flint on retro card I want a new head sculpt.
And Lady Jaye a complete new body and head,I know she already had retro card ,just find some other way to release her lol.

That "radar gun" is that a oart of psyche-out's kit from back in the day could thay be a easter egg
Next name drop is Hardball to go along with Mad mauraders and a nemesis to Frag Viper
The new storm shadow v2 looks great, but it bothers me the swords mount on his right hip which is inconsistent with how Japanese warriors would carry their swords. Hopefully you can put it on the other hip too, or on his back. The back is also not traditional but at least it looks better and is consistent with ninja lore and the original v2 figure.
And still not a single laser rifle trooper in sight….
One complaint about Dialtone. The original figure has lots more hair. I don't like the short cropped hair on this figure and Flint, for example. They should have more hair like they did in the 80s.
Otherwise, Dialtone is a great looking render!
They screwed up on the blast effects lol. They got the colors reversed
Is it just me or is Dialtone looking a little short?
How can you tell without another figure next to him? Is he known for being particularly tall?
