#Lima gives access to the mystical city of Machu Picchu in the Andes, Lake Titicaca in the highlands, the lush Amazon jungle and Peru’s coastal desert. But, before you go to see all of this, it’s worth exploring the capital first.
In Lima’s Historic Center is the Plaza de Armas, also known as the Plaza Mayor. #Visit Government Palace which is still the official seat of government today.
Continue your #vacation outside of the city center. The Bajada de los Baños in bohemian Barranco is home to the Bridge of Sighs. In Miraflores is Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Columbian temple of some 1,500 years old. The Museo Larco in Pueblo Libre contains amazing pre-Columbian artifacts.
Don’t miss Lima’s parks. Parque de las Leyendas is a zoo and Parque de Exposición has fountains to play in and an awe-inspiring light show.

You are full of surprises, I knew nothing about Lima when I visited Peru, travellers only talked about Machu Picchu, Quito, the Andes, the Amazon, or Lake Titicaca - but Lima was so underrated. Yet when I finally arrived I immediately fell in love.

@@cesarolivas2085 I absolutely love Lima. Spent 2 months in Peru and Lima is my favourite. I guess before coming to Peru all I knew was Machu Picchu, Laka Titicaca, Cuzco; people hardly stay in Lima so I didn't know what to expect. It is so beautiful!

LIMA, "City of the Kings", ancient, modern, beautiful, cosmopolitan, amazing. Colonial historic center, prehispanic ruins, museums, restaurants, best food of Latin America, night life. The only great capital city of South America with sea view. Simply the best place. I love. ❤️❤️❤️

Most unique climate of any city in the world. A city in a Tropical location (12 degrees S Latitude, similar to Indonesia), at sea level, yet it has a chilly climate similar to San Francisco, the ocean is too cold to swim in, and the sun hardly ever shines. It messes with your head a little bit. Beautiful city with wonderful people.

Excellent video. Something to add is that Lima is the gastronomic capital of LatinAmerica. Lima with NY ans London are the only cities in the world with two or more restaurants in the top 15.

La Punta District of Callao is wealthy and safe. You need to be cautious with the rest of Callao.

Me and my friend are visiting Lima and Machu Picchu we leave on the 9th May 2018 and will be doing the 4 day trek only 2 more sleeps ... feeling very nervous but very excited to be able to be privileged to do this with one of my best friends . I was here about 2 months ago. It's definitely doable on a backpacker's budget, especially if you opt for a modest accomodation and eat where the list Cal's eat. It's definitely cheaper than Cusco.
