+3089280288 Are you kidding? Did you see him pull in forward? lol Not that I could have done much better myself, but that's why I don't drive big trucks... I"m thinking he should have not been driving either...
everyone always asks why didn't I get out and help. and I reply I was asleep. that's why. seriously people had I been awake I would have helped. please read the descriptions before you comment!
Said it right in the title. There was already a bunch of people out there. One more isn't gonna help anything at that point. The only thing helping that guy was if someone else jumped in his truck and took over.
So Robert111 and dave jenkins, both of you would have some how woke up, And helped the guy? You have some special superhuman power that tells you when somebody is having a issue and you need to wake up and help. Must be nice
Brian, I'm pretty certain that Dave was simply implying even he, an inexperienced truck driver, would have had an easier time backing that trailer in than the driver in question. Not that he would have helped, I think he understands. As for the other guy, I'm not sure as I can't see his comment.
I went to school and got my CLD. I had zero experience. And guess what, they didn't even have us practice backing 53' trailers with sleepers. We practiced backing trailers half that size with day cabs for 4 weeks. I was so underprepared for real life trucking you wouldn't believe it. I would get in situations similar to this every time we went to a truck stop because I was so underprepared. Then I couldn't even practice and learn because there would be assholes yelling at me if I didn't back in there within 3 minutes. Whichever CDL school this guy went to was probably as worthless as the one I attended. These schools are a joke, and they just throw you out there on the road with HARLDY ANY experience driving, and ZERO experience backing 53 footers. I quit after 1 week because I was so underprepared and felt like I would be a danger to others at some point.
We all had to start at some point. My experience was bad too and I could attest to those macho truckers who have no patience for newbies. They made the start up that much worse but once you get the hang of things, it’s smooth riding and so is the cash..
From what I hear the shorter trailers are actually more difficult to backup, so I would think that means you got good training if you managed to back them up no problem
Not quite the same, but I temporarily worked at the car plant in my city. My job was that after the cars were off the assembly line, to take it and park it in the massive parking lot to later be loaded on trains to be delivered across the nation and likely into Canada as well. Thing is, they wanted us to reverse into the spots (admittedly, a weakness for me due to poor vision) but to also rest the two driver-side tires into notches directly on the line of the parking space. So we couldn't just be in the parking spot, we had to park backwards on the white line with our tires in specific markers. Well, alrightie then! To accomplish this, they wanted us to drive with one foot and stand up while hanging out the window of the car to see where we were going and then reverse in. I'm sorry...what?! One, balancing my weight on one foot like that wasn't possible but two, I was terrified of slamming the gas and just ramming into a vehicle behind me (and it would actually be a minor accident with a parked car less than two weeks in that would lead to my termination). If it wasn't that accident, I'm certain it would've been another. They allowed no time for practicing the crazy maneuver they wanted us to use and my supervisor even admitted they preferred to hire younger people because they drive more recklessly. I was close to my 30's at that point and didn't get my license until a month before I turned 24 due to the fear of killing someone if I drove. I try to take safety very seriously, so having a driving job that wanted me to undo that didn't work for me.
My dad taught me how to drive when I was 16 including backing a 53ft trailer up to the dock I never went to school when cdls were required I passed my test first time through
For the people that aren't familiar with bigger trucks this spot is the equivalent of the Grand Canyon. If you're a truck driver going to make a delivery in let's say Chicago or any big city you have to sometimes fight traffic, people, and other shit in your way. Also the docking stations are really small by the time you maneuver everything. This spot on the other hand is giagantic comparatively speaking. This person should either practice In their spare time until he learns or just be fired Immediately.
@@No1reallydies he tried? Are you insane? He has NO business trying to be a truck driver, he's a mayor catastrophic, every truck driver should be able to do this like in 3minutes tops!!!!
araceli johnson okay buddy let’s see your videos parking the big rig in 3 mins You won’t post one I know that but what u will do is complain about someone else’s driving
I knew a guy like this when I was in truck driving school...they passed him...I wouldnt be surprised if this was him..unbelievable...Truck driving isnt for everyone
that was me probably..lol..and yes they passed me...went to MS carriers in Tennessee and they told me to pack it up after a couple days and go home..never made it as a trucker cause I couldn;t back one up
@@edsloan8535 because companies are nickle and diming it as is. Insurance companies are involved, also depends on the amount of accidents that they are already paying or have paid suits on due to other drivers whoever fault it may be.... cost of repairs and fueling.... truck companies make money but not enough to outfit a fleet with gadgets when you can just hire a Professional Driver to have common sense and good judgment to make safe and responsible maneuvers
That and there are a ton of non American truck drivers on American roads. Not sure how many of these drivers got their CDL, they can't drive or speak English. And they certainly don't value safety.
All the shitty driving infractions needs to be put on the truck and driver. Thit will force companies to hire driver who won't put their trucks into violation of with crappy driving...
True, but my dad actually did that very thing in 1970. Walked on at Stevie Stone's quarry in Richmond, MO and claimed he could drive.. no chauffeur's license yet.. they put him behind the wheel of a dump truck w trailer and he figured it out on the fly. By time he got "caught," he knew enough to pass the test and become legal. Spent the next couple decades OTR. Things were much different back then. Definitely wouldn't recommend that approach today. There are many more trucks and many more laws and folks to enforce those laws today than 50 years ago.
@Hi Dude, what he's saying is that a 🐃💩 degree in Femanist Literature doesn't help you do any Job what so ever! Why would you rack up thousands of dollars in debt to do a Skill Job; Skill requires experience built over a long time. If you aquire a degree in Truck Design, why would you do ANY job other than designing trucks!? That truck design degree also doesn't equate to Semi Truck driving skill or experience. There's a reason why, "Experience Required," is a thing, and that's why the pay is attractive; it's a difficult job that requires skill!
@Paul Mallory You realize your assumption about "ignorant people" is ignorance in itself right? Not everyone who is educated thinks these things about other people. Quit whining, do your job, and don't worry what other people think. You'll be happier.
The guy had absolutely no idea how to back the truck. Didn’t know which way to turn the wheel. Whomever signed off on his CDL drive exam, should lose their job. This driver didn’t even know the basics.
@@YUYU-so1hm man, you fuck off, I didn't say nothing rude or disrespectful. All I did was point out a grammar error, so if you are gonna get all butt hurt about me pointing out someone ELSE'S error then you are a child. Quit being a little kid and gtfo of here.
Bad, but not as stupid as the video I saw of a woman who pulled around the gas pumps about 16 times trying to get on the side of the pump where her gas cap was.
When truckers get out of they’re trucks to help another driver its truly a blessing 🙏🏽. Lord knows how hungry, sleepy, and irritated we can be so to take the time to help another driver is truly amazing 😇
I definitely like to help people... if I'm grumpy though, I usually try avoid others til I've rested. But..in times like this, make sure an idiot like him won't hit MY RIG?? I'll be more than happy to get out and help!! THESE guys' help didn't seem to matter though... was he arrogant? A Hot head? Stubborn! Embarrassed? It seem like he had the whole damn parking lot of drivers walking to this truck to help, and he was still acting like an idiot!!
Very true, I’m very grateful to vet drivers that help, I’m pretty new and my mentor that was supposed to teach me didn’t teach me jack. I’ve had really good conversations and interactions with drivers that have helped me! I hope in the future when I have more experience I can help more drivers and pass the knowledge forward.
@Biker Rat Oh, ok. Maybe you don't realize, but getting a CDL USED TO require much more extensive testing than a regular DL (I have no idea how this guy passed)... but besides that, all it takes is a little bit of COMMON SENSE to realize you're DESTROYING AN ENTIRE PARKING LOT.
@Biker Rat *Chauffeur's license... yes, I'm aware. I used to work with a guy that had one, hell of a nice guy but he was a terrible driver. Anyway, that still doesn't excuse this guy for continuing to destroy other people's trucks after he knew he hit the first one. I've hit shit before, but then I STOPPED so I wouldn't cause any more damage.
It's about who is hiring and who the hiree knows, some get away with bloody murder, some get in trouble for a loose shoelace. I knew one guy who scrapped 3 trucks in 1 year, destroyed millions in cargo and personal property, fell asleep each time and cost the company millions of dollars. They made me evaluate his driving... drove well but could not stay awake... they still kept him. Me? I was getting harassed for fueling in New York state.... and only put enough to get across the border.... almost got fired for that and was fine with being fired but they gave me an awesome load to bribe me in staying. I knew no one, so I was getting picked on all the time. After I inevitably quit, 40 drivers followed suit... the company was bought out less than a year after.
TheManKnownAsJR huh? How? I almost took a trailer door off and it was almost career ending. It wasn’t even really my fault. Yes my responsibility but not really my fault. How can someone wreck three trucks and not have their dac destroyed?
@Steve Lamore you know the man by the way he ends...you were discussing pilitely and patiently and yet at the end you showed your low level of intelligence. I bet you don't have a wife /daughter
How on earth does this guy have a cdl? I'd bet anyone who has EVER, even once, backed a boat trailer down a boat ramp would do better than this and this guys driving this rig?! Wtf?!
jones jones could be an old EMT or fire truck driver. I know you need a CDL for fire truck, not sure with ambulance Either way, this guy has no business behind that wheel
Kevin Meyers this!!!! X100 CDL schools don’t teach you crap. I had to threaten a lawsuit with my school. With about 5 days left before the sessions ended, I had 3 hours of road driving and we had to practice backing, including parallel parking on a broken truck. It literally took two people to turn the wheel. Don’t ask me how I passed the test because I have NO idea. Some supreme being was guiding that day. I managed the parallel with one very slight pull forward. I was so shocked, I got out and looked at all 4 tires. I was so dumbfounded I just sat there thinking something had to be wrong. The instructor, who was a total B. Told me to hurry up and honk the horn. After training when I got hired, I bet my backing was worse the. The guy in the video. But I stuck it through and did actually improve.
SilentMemer a lot of these dudes are really bad at it, idk how they got linceses. At my old warehouse job we'd see guys try backing up to our doors for like a half hour, and with not many if any other trucks at the other bay doors. We also had this metal railing/wall thing to guard walkway entrance to the regular door to get inside and so many of the trucks doors were ripped off hitting it while backing up lmao.
update: that driver is no longer driving trucks. he left that job soon after getting his helicopter pilot license. true story. good move on his part. there's plenty of parking in the sky.
Well... he saw some guy do that once, and it looked pretty cool, so he decided to try it. I'm surprised he didn't fall out of the fricking truck with it still in gear and the clutch out. Oh and, by the way... that was a triple tap to the J.B. Hunt. Once on the front, and a double on the side of the hood. Plus, how the hell did he get it this far???
Sofia Gomez , if you can't back up to park, you should take a class on driving. Never know what situation will require you to back up. If you cannot fully operate a vehicle, you shouldn't be behind the wheel.
Yeah that's the stupidest thing to do. Your truck has a mirror to see in and a window to look out of so you don't open your frickin door when you're backing up. It's a good way to fall out of your truck while it's still moving and you might get ran over.
I'm a new driver but idc if you been driving for 50 years or 3 months . If your unsure of your surroundings it doesn't hurt to take a minute to get out and look
Yeah, you are even allowed to leave the car during a driving test. Say "I'm unsure what's behind the car and the board computer's beeping doesn't help me here, I will go out and check" or something like that and go look for yourself.
My first time getting a load from Citrus World I thought they where joking, telling me back down the street, then almost jackknife into the loading dock. I got out and walked it and quickly saw there was a better way. I got made fun of a few times but I could usually line up to the loading dock with one or two tries after walking it
And that's part of the problem. Get out and look! Not once did the driver even bother to have a look for him or herself. Also, if you don't have to blindside back then why even think about trying it.
I’m so thankful when I did my CDL training with Fedex freight backing was the #1 priority with all size trailers. We worked more on backing than any other skill! Clearly the company that trained this driver spent no time practicing backing. U can tell by the angles he took to back into the spot and that spot was HUGE and he had plenty of room to back in even blind sided with no issues if he had any kind of quality training. Hell I’ve back 53’ into much tighter spots with way less space off of a city street with active traffic on the roads! This is terrible! The space this driver has is like the perfect ideal scenario!! No traffic and in a parking lot at that. Easy money right there
You're absolutely correct. That person could not have had any decent training whatsoever, but I'll go even further to say that he also seemed to be completely lacking in natural ability and common sense. I mean, if he had been backing a car into a spot on the right would he have hung outta his door on the left as he did here? Hopefully, he doesn't drive anything anywhere after that horrible demonstration.
Was this the guys first day driving a truck? I especially like the double hit on the truck in the middle. "Oh shit I think I hit something...try it again...yeah definitely hitting something. I guess that's what the thump and the inability to keep going in that direction were about."
I'm glad you was asleep and missed it. It shows that you are doing your job. Not to mention that you was thinking about your safety and everyone else around you. Never drive tired think safety first. Thank you for the great job you do. Sure wish other truckers would get reason when they are tired. Have a great day.
As a U.K. Trucker you try and always reverse on your driver side and avoid blind side reverse. When in doubt if you must blind side stop get out and look. Don't matter if it takes fifty shunts just get it in safely and no damage. He was obviously drunk or a novice
Sydney Calhoun Woops sorry tree hugger, hope you've never been the only passenger on a bus late at night or gone as far as even thinking about boarding a plane.
Damnit, guys, you can't blame him for his affluence. His mom clearly paid for him to be on the varsity softball team at swift and she had someone doctor the photos and submit them FOR him. Gotta put this on the parent.
I am a Heavy Equipment and Tractor Trailer mechanic. We have to put our stuff on a dime. This is the funniest shit I have seen in years. Ty for posting! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am a US Army, (dino era mech, for wheel, & track), ... so once we’d get em fixed, We’d take them out to a field where we could put the equipment through its “paces”, ...lmmo, ... it was fun to drive the 113’s, & M-60 tanks through the mud, & up over short hills, & drop offs, just to see if it would handle the stresses of rigorous usage, ... but the one I truly got off on driving had the 283 Chevy motor in it, ... the 114 personnel carrier, ... it would look like wind em up, & watch em go, type handling, ... lmmo! But the M-60, was the powerhouse, as the AVDS, (of which the AVDS stood for Air cooled, V-12-Diesel, Superturbocharged, engine, & it was a stud of an engine, ... of which, I have also driven a Michigan train, with the 1693 Kitty Cat, purring along about 110 mph, pulling 86,000 odd lbs of steel coils from East Chicago, to Detroit, along US 12/20, & up I-94, with the required permits through Indiana, ... really cool, behemoth trucking, ... as well as a 450 Cummins, with a 10 spd trans, & 3speed reargear, ... talk about climbing a wall, ... if gravity/traction, were not such an issue, that truck there, would have had no problem climbing a 90 degree slope, as I’m sure that even at 67 years old, that I could crawl faster than that tractor maxed out rpm, in its 1st gear, ... one hell of a puller, but the top end, would still be able to drag well over 150,000 pounds of truck, trailers, & freight down the highway @ 130 plus mph, ... but I’ve always been partial to the 13 speed trans in my 1st truck, a 2 story steel cab Ford, with a 250 Cummins, and a blower, ... it too would pull just about anything, but simply did not have enough horses to get out of her own way, ... lmmo! Getting going was not the issue, but maintaining highway speeds is why they made that 3rd lane for slower vehicles, ... lmmo! As it would be just fine on the shorter hills, but would have some serious issues on the longer drawn pathways of even today’s graded out slopes on any truly long hills, ... down to 20-25 mph, on the Indiana 63 section, which replaced the main route of US 41, through the Turkey Run area, just north of Terre Haute, Indiana, ...
coolnegative truth be told your boat and utility trailer is harder to back than that trailer if you can back a short trailer you're golden that how my grandfather taught me to back up
I once had to back my sleeper condo and 53' trailer about 13 miles down a twisty bit of TN US route because of a rockslide, had no issues at all. Yet I can barely back my 12' utility trailer down my driveway.... I hate little trailers! Lol
The longer a trailer is, the more leeway you have to play with. I have a jet ski that is probably about 8 feet and a 30 foot coachmen travel trailer. Believe it or not the camper is a breeze to back up compared to the jet ski. With a small trailer the slightest movement of the steering wheel will make it kick to the side QUICK.
A few years back I was working for a design company that was renting office space above a manufacturing plant... I had a view of the loading dock from my desk. Now the way the plant was setup, it was on level ground and the dock was accessed by a paved ramp going down to the door itself... One day, some doofy truck driver managed to back his trailer up the paved sides of the ramp and promptly pried one side of his driven wheels off the ground. Obviously, with an open diff, he couldn't make it back up the ramp and gravity was just pulling him further down the hell hole when he let go of the brakes!! After 20 agonizing minutes, break time came up and all the shop employees were out with their cell phones filming the ordeal!! After a while, a tow truck showed up to pull him out of his predicament.
dude, i know you're trying to be funny and all, but with trump as president this is kinda not the right time for racist comments, maybe wait a bit until they chill
Some ppl cant park in reverse dunno why. Maybe habit i was like you too cant park can in reverse due to trauma that i had when i was trying to reverse park and accidentally crash my car into the wall causing the rear lamp of my car destroyed
At the 76 truck stop in Bloomsbury, NJ in the late 80's, a driver knocked an International cab over completely off the frame while the driver was asleep in the bunk. He was kind of irritated. The offending driver called the victims company and complained about the victim screaming at him while only dressed in his underwear in the parking lot.
Oh... if I had been that guy I would have done more than just scream at him. You destroyed my truck. You better be running for your life and hope I don't catch YOU before the cops catch ME!
Danzignan Swift is a poor company to work for. Hours are bad, pay isn't as good as other companies and management is a joke. They expect a lot out of their drivers and offer little compensation for meeting their expectations.
I’ve had the blindside a number of times. Fact that’s how I injured my knee. I had to get out so many times to check my positioning. Adjust my position, get outlook, get back in adjust my position...... after about 45 minutes of this, in the rain I slipped on the red clay. Fortunately I was almost in the spot I was told to put it. Coming in the right was was blocked with pallets of material. The only time I ever had trouble backing up was when I was running a fever of 103° and my company told me that if I didn’t get in my truck and drive they were going to come and seize the truck, all my records that I abandoned it. I’ve never been so sick before in my life, when I had cancer and after the surgery during chemo, I didn’t even get us sick. An ambulance brought me to the hospital from my truck. God bless my fellow drivers. When I got back to my truck, it was totally clean inside. The sheets and blankets fouled from body fluids we are bagged several times, So notes telling me that it’s up to me what I do with it. I threw it out. Some clothing articles. Some things were washed, including my pillow. I’ve never been so fluffy. My truck smells so sweet inside. Someone had taken care of my dog. Fortunately, I did not lose her. They left them in my truck, but somebody was taking him out for walks, ensuring that he had freshwater and food while I was in the hospital. When I got out of the hospital the company said you drive. When I got back to my truck I started getting sick again. And my temperature started rise. I made it to Denver, I couldn’t find a place to park and I was beginning to fade. I backed into a truck, just catching a couple inches, That is enough. I left the company, and I’m very glad I did. I ended my career with a wonderful company, that had experience knowledgeable dispatchers. When I was talking to my dispatcher, I had a cold. She told me she wanted me to shut down for the weekend, and get well. She didn’t want to see an accident when you’re driving not 100%. I never heard of a company that cared about their drivers, but in the long run it also helps their record.
more than likely one of those guys you are stuck behind that doesn't know how to shift. We had two drivers today like that in front of us. One took a whole light to get through the intersection and the other almost got us hit on the interstate cuz he was only going 20mph coming off of the ramp.
lol.. i feel bad for him even though i shouldnt because he didnt g.o.a.l and he had plenty of room.. we all make mistakes but "got dam driver"GET OUT AND LOOK!
must have been an ex-trainer from england(30 day wonders) Then he pulls into a spot that he will have to back out of,no one near there is safe with that kind of dumb ass around.
I've seen some swift trucks struggle, but from my experience, 8 or 9 times out of 10, it is some beat up piece of sh*t truck like this with some independent idiot/cowboy driving. In other words, usually it ISN'T Swift.
He Can't Drive. His Estimates WERE WAY OFF. He Never Once Got out of The Truck to check his Position and Distances. Why he looked out of The Drivers Side Door when Backing Blindside? I have No Idea... He was AN IDIOT No Matter how you look at it...
Companies want to get rid of us old drivers with 20 plus years of experience, so they can bring in these steering wheel holders, and pay them next to nothing. Then they can’t understand why their equipment is getting torn up.
Mike Hamilton probly cause u watched some car videos or anything auto related and they thought they could get away with a truck video I'm her to tell u I'm here too idont know why lol it just happends
I just SMH. I witnessed a driver plug his full length rig into a (I thought) hard to get into loading dock on the first pass and made it look easy. When I commented on it to him he simply said "I've been doing this for 18 years." I learned to parallel park a 560' long destroyer, a tractor-trailer ... ah, not so easy I think. Got a lot of respect for you folks.
This is one of the reasons why we chose to remove all wet-bars from our trucks and now have a zero tolerance cocaine policy for our drivers under the age of 30.
It scares me that he's on the road. My MIL was killed by a trucker that came fully into her lane. Truck drivers have my utmost respect. It's a hard job & I know I couldn't do it, but it seems like lately they are putting some drivers on the roads that are just damn scary
Okay I worked for a furniture company called Loves furniture for about a year back in the early 90's now they had a delivery truck that I had to drive occasionally. There was another man I worked with that did most of the driving. I can't remember the exact length but it was about 3/4ths the length of your average semi. It had 6 forward gears and 2 reverse if memory serves me correctly. The front wheel base was right underneath where you sat so it turn on a dime. Now some folks just do not have very good depth perception like the guy in the video if he had any at all. 🤔 the guy I worked with one day was driving and we came to a house that had this very long slightly winding driveway. Close to a quarter mile from the road to the house proper. He backed just a little way and said we go no further. I asked him why he said he was afraid that the truck might damage the landscaped tree lined drive. Well we had several pieces of furniture to deliver there some of it quite heavy. I told him I can back us right up to the front door. He was skeptical at first but I told him I could do it. So I hopped in and I backed that truck all the way to their front door. I didn't so much as disturb one leaf on the trees. He insisted on being out of the truck so he could spot me if I needed it. Of course I didn't I was very used to using mirrors to back in and out in several other vehicles at places I had lived at. He was amazed that I could do it as I'd never driven a truck that size and type before. He on the other hand finally admitted he had poor depth perception so I was usually the one who backed into and out of tricky places. The guy in the video had a huge amount of space and still couldn't back that truck up. Makes you wonder how he got his cdl? 😀
Wow this is terrible. This has nothing to do with being tired or on drugs. He simply does not know how to position up and or reverse properly, how much to turn and what not.
boutrous92 what makes you so sure it has "nothing to do with drugs?" I guess you're a virgin because certain drugs absolutely make you stupid in the exact way we see here. Now it isn't necessarily related to drugs, but you can't possibly know
Jesus Christ, I could have done a better job than that and I've never driven anything longer than a 17' trailer. Was that thing stolen by an old Asian lady or something?
Damn. I know backing is twice as hard when your tired, but daggone. The funny part was at 2:20. I bet the guy was on his step saying, "just let me do it".
Being a driver for 13 yrs I gotta say once in awhile I'll have like 5 open spaces and couldn't back it up correctly. I'll be all crooked hahahaha LMAO. Being tired will get ya Everytime. Plus honestly don't blindside, that's just asking for trouble especially if you're tired. Peace out
Reina Jenkins, I am glad I am not the only one. Empty lot, eleventy-six spots, and I can't get straight to save my life. Give me a hard spot, and it works.
Clawbytes, it absolutely is. The worst is an empty lot with one pole in the middle. A new driver will keep their eyes on it, (so they will avoid it) and plow right into the pole.
Or even hookup. That's a shame. I'm no expert but have been around trucks all my life. If you have any driving skills at all you can back then up no problem.
And people wonder why I'm going to hang it up after over 40 years behind the wheel. This is what their putting on the roads now. CDL program is really working good, real professional drivers on the roads now!!!
I had my road time in late 90's and hated it Would rather shunt or work on the dock. Really surprised they don't use a day cab and a empty chassis to teach drivers to back up. That's how I taught myself to back up.
I understand what you mean driver. I see alot out here that I just cannot beleive and im still a Youngblood only driving 8 years myself. How many miles you think you got under your belt after 40 years? Hell of a long career and I thank you for it from 1 to another. Glad you made it safely. Although im part of the new generation of drivers I take my job very seriously and with great pride. Just hit 650k safe miles at my company as a local driver and im very proud of that. I also drive NYC everyday. Excited to hit my first million, god willing!
Went to a school and they were able to weed out plenty of jokers. Even then, they can only do so much since students can get up to 10 tries before they have to go home for 30 days before they can try again.
Guy or girl don’t belong in a big truck. Has no idea what the trailer is doing or how it reacts to certain maneuvers. Opened the door on a blind side back.
Well, I know it isnt real, but I do play ETS. When I shall park the trailer, then I will try to make sure I go onto the side where I can look out of the window. I just dont understand why he didnt tried to come into an angle, so it might had been easier for him
Kristen Harral Naw, it was Lahey on the liquor after he was fired from the park he took up driving a big rig for awhile but Ray can't drive a big rig he's disabled "wink, wink" and Bubbles loves his Kitty's too much too ever hit the road and leave them...
Line haul driver. Trained professional at moving forward. Back in the day there were yard jockeys to handle this. That said, this driver may have seen a short bus or two in his time.
Wesley, it is NOT your responsibility to get out of your truck to "guide" this idiot driver, awake or not. Clearly this guy should look for a different job cuz trucking is not a good idea. I am truly amazed some of the guys that got out did not just have him exit his truck and park it for him, lolol.
Well, every other truck in that lot and the drivers seemed to be able to back up their trucks with no problems but I can see your point. This guy should just not be a truck driver...…...period.
Getting out to guide the incompetent is 1) self-preservation (what if they hit *your* vehicle?), and 2) potentially helpful (some of these guys *can* learn, they just for whatever reason didn't get trained properly). Mostly #1, though.
i wanna be with the cool kids (who surely can operate a 18-wheeler) and trash that guy too, but something's tellin' me backing a truck is something completely different from going straight on a highway
I have never driven a tractor trailer...I am not going to even pretend for a moment I could have successfully parked that thing...BUT...I feel like I could have at least made a better looking attempt at it then that lol. And btw, for the record, truck drivers are indeed about the most helpful people you will find on the road. I was pulled off with my 30' camper trailer with a flat tire, and pulled into one of the tractor trailer parking slips at a rest area on the NYS Thruway...while I was changing the tire, I literally had 4 different truck drivers stop by and ask if I needed help or tools in the 15 minutes it took to change it. Most of those guys are top notch folk.I fully believe OP when he says he would have helped if he was awake.
One guy had never driven anything. And went to a drivers school. He promptly threw out a drive shaft. Didn't know what was wrong. Could not back up in a straight line with the truck already in a straight line.
Being a swift driver and all hahaha On a serious note it's extremely scary how many non-qualified people are getting their CDL's and being let loose on the roads. Scary shit, for real!
So, like, you'd think that maybe he'd be _looking at his passenger mirror,_ which actually has a view to the trailer, instead of randomly leaning out the door to stare blankly out at the pavement as he's ramming other trucks repeatedly. What on earth was going through his brain?
floofytown true, but it’s very difficult to see where the drivers side of the trailer is backing and how close you are to the truck on that side. You really can’t see it out of the passenger mirror on a blind side back, except for your logo on the side of your trailer and the additional round mirror is little to no help in judging depth. So a guy that has no idea how to back in the first place doesn’t stand a chance doing a blind side back. He should have just quit or had another driver back it. They would give him a lot of crap but might have learned something while not damaging every rig on the lot. Hell I bet a lot of drivers would proudly show off their backing skills.
I have had trainees 2 days in, back 500 times better than that. I can not even guess how he passed DOT and got a license. Maybe this is why i get asked if i have my CDL at some shippers/receivers. I can not believe he actually has a CDL.
Well read some comments obviously there’s not one truck driver commenting on this video I watched the first 20 seconds and quit because this guy does not know what he’s doing and it’s too frustrating to watch basically he’s backing in on his blind side never to be done in less there is no other option.
Blind siding, like everything else is an acquired skill. It’s part of my daily routine, sometimes backing into a building, and blindsiding down an isle between machinery. It just takes time, and patience.
I have been driving around 35 years, I see some of these guys backing into a spot in a truck stop that I wouldn't try, I drive a 389 Pete that dont have electric mirrors it's tough to blind side
There's nothing anyone can do to help that driver. it's called learn to drive first, then drive.
kyle Davidson he could have pulled in first, sight sided out and site sided back in
3089280288 he could have also not smoked crack but...
+3089280288 Are you kidding? Did you see him pull in forward? lol Not that I could have done much better myself, but that's why I don't drive big trucks... I"m thinking he should have not been driving either...
Lol he s a pro it s every one else that can't drive lol oh 10 yrs in training 😂😂😂
everyone always asks why didn't I get out and help. and I reply I was asleep. that's why. seriously people had I been awake I would have helped. please read the descriptions before you comment!
Said it right in the title. There was already a bunch of people out there. One more isn't gonna help anything at that point. The only thing helping that guy was if someone else jumped in his truck and took over.
I was wondering if you posted this on Twisted Trucker
man ive never driven a truck but I could have got that in there.

At least you're honest bro don't worry you'll get there, have confidence in yourself bro
My dad taught me how to drive when I was 16 including backing a 53ft trailer up to the dock I never went to school when cdls were required I passed my test first time through
I can hardly back up a with my garden tractor, and I can tell you this guy has no business behind the wheel of a big rig.
Tony Tuite worst part it's probably harder to back up a garden tractor with a lawn trailer then it is to back up a big rig
Patrick Pikulski Definitely less forgiving in terms of over correcting.

Hey man he tried we can give him that most people too pussy to even get in a rig nowadays

This is one of those careers where " fake it till you make it" is not a good idea.
Better than a pilot or a doctor though.
@Paul Mallory not really 😂. It's a a very painful suffering life$ no doubt , has alot of problems already 😙💪👌👍✌

They made me evaluate his driving... drove well but could not stay awake... they still kept him. Me? I was getting harassed for fueling in New York state.... and only put enough to get across the border.... almost got fired for that and was fine with being fired but they gave me an awesome load to bribe me in staying. CDL schools don’t teach you crap. Blindside parking was his best try .. he blew it even with his back wheels further up the chassis.

Yeah that's the stupidest thing to do. Your truck has a mirror to see in and a window to look out of so you don't open your frickin door when you're backing up. It's a good way to fall out of your truck while it's still moving and you might get ran over.
How else is he supposed to hear when he hits something? 🙄
I got made fun of a few times but I could usually line up to the loading dock with one or two tries after walking it
Traugott Müller i actually didn't know that.
Traugott Müller well I didn’t know that
And that's part of the problem. Get out and look! Not once did the driver even bother to have a look for him or herself.

@@johneosmaniii3915 You got to play with some very cool stuff. It must have been a blast.
I worked at a warehouse and saw this every night. People must not be getting trained right any more
they trained them to unload money for cdl. But, the question should be addressed to the authority, how did this guy pass the driving test ?!
I got no room for any bad mouthing. I can barely back up a boat or utility trailer.
coolnegative truth be told your boat and utility trailer is harder to back than that trailer if you can back a short trailer you're golden that how my grandfather taught me to back up
I once had to back my sleeper condo and 53' trailer about 13 miles down a twisty bit of TN US route because of a rockslide, had no issues at all. Yet I can barely back my 12' utility trailer down my driveway.... I hate little trailers! Lol
A short trailer will get sideways faster than a 53.
Short trailers react faster than these do.

This kind of “driver” is exactly why I stepped out from behind the wheel after 12 yrs. it’s just embarrassing, not to mention dangerous.
🤣😂💀💀🤦🏾♂️👀
Oh... if I had been that guy I would have done more than just scream at him. You destroyed my truck. You better be running for your life and hope I don't catch YOU before the cops catch ME!

All swift trucks have dash cams.
sir i m interested work for swift .but i m from indiana.plz give me one chance.my email sukh48554@gmail.com . my contact no 00917347655136
I'm not American so can someone explain what's wrong with swift and what it is actually? (I suppose it's something American, correct me if I'm wrong).
Danzignan Swift is a poor company to work for. Hours are bad, pay isn't as good as other companies and management is a joke.
They expect a lot out of their drivers and offer little compensation for meeting their expectations.
Jaren Smith Thank you for the answer ^^ seems to be a pain working for them :/
I can't imagine him backing into a receiving bay for a store.
i'd love to see him alley dock in chicago
I'm just wondering how he even made it to the truck stop.
more than likely one of those guys you are stuck behind that doesn't know how to shift.
As you said we all make mistakes, some days you just should have stayed in the bunk. What kills me is 8 or 9 out of 10 times its Swift or Werner.
must have been an ex-trainer from england(30 day wonders) Then he pulls into a spot that he will have to back out of,no one near there is safe with that kind of dumb ass around.
I've seen some swift trucks struggle, but from my experience, 8 or 9 times out of 10, it is some beat up piece of sh*t truck like this with some independent idiot/cowboy driving. In other words, usually it ISN'T Swift.

Clawbytes, it absolutely is. The worst is an empty lot with one pole in the middle. A new driver will keep their eyes on it, (so they will avoid it) and plow right into the pole.

I also drive NYC everyday. Excited to hit my first million, god willing!
Went to a school and they were able to weed out plenty of jokers. Even then, they can only do so much since students can get up to 10 tries before they have to go home for 30 days before they can try again.

When you failed truck driving school twice
6x times 😂
One guy had never driven anything. And went to a drivers school.
He promptly threw out a drive shaft.
Didn't know what was wrong. Could not back up in a straight line with the truck already in a straight line.
What school?? 😂 he Paid someone off for his CDL
Being a swift driver and all hahaha
On a serious note it's extremely scary how many non-qualified people are getting their CDL's and being let loose on the roads.
To help him listen for when he hits something he'll know when to stop😂😂
