This service can’t remain free forever as well as sellers fees being $0. This is a grab to gain back some of the market and once they do things will change.
Seller fees are not $0. You get charged at the end of each month based on your sales amount.

This is dope I bought a few things off eBay. I have 2 pairs of 1s that I have for resale now that eBay stepped their game up I'm selling.
They need be more open to the customer service . I mean if I’m send my shoes to some “Authenticator” I would like to know who is looking at my shoe what’s are there credentials and I should be able to contact them through the process. Especially when it going to be a paid service soon. Just trusting some one in New York they can switch the shoes and say they are fake or they can pass a shoe that is fake. When it come down to it just more clarity in the process.

Imagine being the pioneer of global collectibles selling, and having never crossed your mind having a Legit Check Department until competition came along.
I mean, you guys collabed with Nike for an ultra exclusive auction of a 1/1 Dunk Low SB for charity, and shipped it chopped in pieces so it couldn't be resold. Strategy which failed.

Ebay authentication is not 100% you can still get fakes. Especially the yeezy 700 waverunners. Yeezy 700 box was different than retail, the insole was just adidas sign with no branding or insole cushion, the adidas print on sole bottom. These were obvious signs and was still authenticated, pretty sad.
Unfortunately this service is absolutely useless for any vintage sneakers. Just tried to purchase a pair of vintage 1980s reeboks and had them sent back because eBay didn't know what they were looking at. Called and there's no way to still get them, I have to wait for the seller to get them back and re-list them to try again. You guys should really add an option so that even pairs that don't pass inspection can still be received, because this whole thing is a huge barrier to buying and selling anything other than brand new modern shoes. Vintage collectors are getting the short end of the stick with this one. And guess what, you can't even turn authentication off. Stupid.
Great option. Hope they allow your suggestions. I dealt with the same thing on some vintage Nike ACG. Didn't pass authentication because they couldn't find the size. Sizing is embossed in the shoe and they didn't see it.

Yep, sold a pair of 1999 bred 4s and they got sent back because I didn’t specify that “the midsoles were repainted.” Absolutely stupid because the midsoles are crumbling anyway and need a sole swap. I clarified that in the description but I guess it doesn’t matter. Absolute joke

I bought a pair on the 11th and they’ve had them for authentication since the 18 and it’s now the 27th and there’s been no updated. The estimated delivery day for me was the 25th and for some reason they can’t authenticate a pair of shoes in 5 days. I’m going back to GOAT.

How long does it take to authenticate? I purchased on eBay and it says delivered to authenticate and been stuck there for days with no sign shipped to me
Took 11 days for my pair of Tokyo Bio Hacks to be shipped, authenticated and delivered. Around 2 weeks seems to be the general consensus

What happens if the sneakers don’t pass authenticity? Do they send them back?
If the inspector cannot determine that the product is authentic, or if the product is not as described in the listing, the item will be returned to you and the buyer will receive their money back the item will be returned to you and the buyer will receive their money back.

Sellers are already saying authentic shoes they have sold are being returned as fake and their accounts are then shut down. I don't want to risk that so I'm actually moving all my shoes to GOAT and StockX now, I'd much rather pay their fee than risk my account being locked.

You don't need to Pay it'll say on the buyers page but I think it has to be a certain price or higher or it won't say it

I don’t know if it’s the sellers or the people that do the authentication but every time I buy a pair of Jordans on eBay the box comes DESTROYED. Maybe I’m being petty but when going to resell if I choose it takes a little from me. When you pay $300 plus for a pair of sneakers that box they come in should be immaculate.
eBay checks everything for authentication but the size. Bought shoes they were the wrong size. After opening the box cutting the tag and putting them on so o was stuck with the shoe.

I’ve bought 3 shoes from eBay and luckily they’ve been real since I checked throughly and used multiple check apps, but I have the shop app which tracks all my purchases and once I see my shoes are out for delivery to the authenticity center they’re authentified so quick and label created to ship to me that very same day that I’m like do they really check them? I just feel like it’s pretty quick knowing thousands of shoes come in to them at a time

@@cosmoquinto2765 usually a week. I think when eBay finally authenticates them (usually that same day or the next) they do 2-3 day shipping to your home

As part of the process, sneakers go through a multi-point inspection. We check the sneakers against the photographs, description & item condition in the listing. If the seller didn’t describe & photograph issues with the sneakers, we return it to the seller & cancel the order.

Who is doing the authenticating? Why are they failing real shoes? This will evolve into a nightmare for sellers and buyers. Selling fees will eventually go up. Authentication should be an option for sellers not mandatory.

Probably depends on a bunch of factors. I bought 2 pair so far from 2 diff sellers (CA & WI). Each took about a week to ship from seller to authenticators to me (NY).

Recently got a pair of Lebrons that didn't seemingly didn't go to the authenticator like my others orders. It says guaranteed authentic on the listing and the box though.
