Tata really came through for the group at the end giving his hand and life after the mistake he made at the job and finally coming full circle to be appreciated finally which he wanted and damm that prison game is intense as hell can’t wait for the next one
it’s kinda funny how you guys automatically speculate that chishiya is the jack of hearts or a part of the game itself, when no he’s just a crazy good analytical character who somehow manages to survive the games every time
I feel like something people don’t register about the Jack of Hearts is that you can’t sleep at all. If you let the game go on long enough people are gonna straight up be too exhausted to play and die since the LONGEST you could sleep for would be like 45 minutes at a time to be safe, so there is pressure to kill while you’re still lucid.
If you have a reliable way to wake up every time you could sleep for close to 2 hours at a time. The rounds start every hour and last for an hour, but you can guess at any point during that hour (we know this is fact because the jack of hearts guessed early in a round to get out of being tortured) so a round starts at 12am and you make your guess at 12:01am you then sleep until 1:55am and then make your guess at 1:59am for the round that started at 1am, you then repeat and make your guess for the 2am round at 2:01am and continue that cycle getting roughly an hour and a half of sleep depending on how quickly you fall asleep.

The next round immediataly starts after the previous round so if they had to wait until the hour was fully up to guess they would have gotten a full hour with the jack of hearts there was nothing in the rules saying you had to make your guess at the exact time just that you had to make your guess each round. It also showed people making their guess with different times on the countdown clock, it's just the explosive collar that goes off on the hour but if you're never guessing wrong you never have to worry about the collar exploding while you're sleeping.

@@indo_game3516 I don't really know if J of Hearts is much better or not with or without Chishiya, it's just because Live Action Chishiya playing J of Diamonds would be boring because not every viewer is a Mahjong player.
@@cat_96 It’s hard to say as a mange reader, this game was more involved in the manga, and had more major players, one of the biggest differences between the manga and live action is an amount of non main characters whose roles either get wrapped into the main characters or get cut. There was more of a mix of hapless people just trying to get away from the King of Spades and the kind of bastards who would actively be seeking out the Jack of Hearts thinking they could win, which imo makes more sense than having the vast majority of the players just be sheep in Usami’s group. There was even a player who almost successfully stalled the game out and he had to be stopped because that would have caused every player outside the venue to die when their visas expired after winning every other face game. BYW, if you would like more Chishiya, one of the side stories that was never adapted showed Chishiya’s first game in the Borderlands, the Six of Diamonds. You should check it out!
Well, Ippei was the reason Chishiya made it out so far. That was the winning strategy that allowed all the other players to make it: building the rapport with someone from the start and trust them as a mutual support system. If anything, Chishiya might've been blaming himself for not building up support when he saw the signs of ippei breaking.

just realized on rewatch that tatta had to destroy his own arm for the group to win, and he also destroyed the guys arm in the flashback. interesting parallel.
liked the discussion at the end where they were all guessing who the jack is.. goes to show about how good the misdirection of the episode is since they were all wrong xD.. same for me tho lol

That whole situation with the couple in the prison was weird. In your subtitles, when he said he would protect her, she said thank you by his name. In my subtitles, for watever reason, it translated as she said "thank you master". which is weird. what really is their relationship?!

Chishiya bonding with someone in his own special way and then they get taken out. He doesn't show much emotion but he still cares.
It's a real shame... Probably even blames himself for not doing enough when he saw the signs.
