    i just simply love all your soaps & other skin care products making they are too good can I ask you one thing is it necessary to study chemistry to Start soap making business or can we start it without studying chemistry as a subject :/ cz I really want to start this but I have no concerns with these chemicals,m a fashion designer by profession but I seriously started loving soap making :/

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A chemistry degree isn't necessary for soapmaking! Just make sure to take all safety precautions before making soap, as you are dealing with lye. Once you know the basics and how to safely handle lye, you can get started. =)

    Can I substitute the polusorbate 80 with the 20? If I can, do I use it at the same rate as the 80 in this recipe?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn't try this recipe with Polysorbate 20 so I'm not entirely sure! I would recommend making a small test batch with the Polysorbate 20 to see if it helps emulsify the oil in the bath water. =)

    Could you use fractionated coconut oil? And I thought poly 20 is for oil poly 80 for butters?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use fractionated coconut oil if you like! It feels really nice on the skin. =)
      Fractionated coconut oil: www.brambleberry.com/CaprylicCapric-Triglycerides-Fractionated-Coconut-Oil-P4957.aspx
      Also, Polysorbate 20 is typically used for lighter oils like fragrances, while Polysorbate 80 is used for heavier oils like coconut. We found it works best in this recipe!

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The key is a lot of shock absorbing material like packing peanuts! You'll want your bath fizzies to be covered on all sides to help prevent breakage. It may also help to wrap the fizzies in bubble wrap. =)

    If we choose to use Mica to color our bathbombs instead of the La bomb Colorant how do we go about using it, how much do we use??

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend starting with about 1/8-1/4 teaspoon added to your powders before the witch hazel. Sprinkle those in and stir until they're fully incorporated. You can add more, but keep in mind the more color you add the more likely they are to transfer to the tub. In that case, you can use Polysorbate 80 like we did in this tutorial to prevent the ring in the tub. =)

    • @bramble-berry

    Help! I made a lot of pure olive oil soaps ( ph is perfect, followed every rule) and it's slimy. It still works but it is slimy. Is this okay?

    • @domestichippie6797
      @domestichippie6797 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      EM&M Pure Olive Oil or Castile soaps take much longer to cure out and become a great bar of soap. It can take 6 months to a year for them to lose that slimy feel when wet. how long has it been since making them? Castile is an amazing soap once it is finished curing out though!

    Is poly 80 considered as a chemical or a vegan product

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Polysorbate 80 is a synthetic ingredient. Its components can be derived from both animal and vegetable fats. I'm not entirely sure if ours is vegan! You can email MSDS(at)brambleberry(dot)com for more information though. =)

    you said that sod.bicarbonate is abrasive....then isn't it abrasive to our skin?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be a mild exfoliator in soap and scrubs! However, in the bath tub it you won't feel it. In order to exfoliate, it needs to be rubbed into the skin. In the bath tub it fizzes and dissolves. =)
