2 legends. 1 piano, no egos, just music. Seven Spanish Angels is one of my favorites. I love how Willie showed his age by saying, "phonograph record." LOL I've often wondered how much better the world would be if we were all blind like Ray and unable to see skin color. Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp also started Farm Aide in 1985 to help family farmers.

Yes Willie is @ 82 and still performing. I saw him perform when he was 78...Should check out "I will never smoke weed with Willie again, by Toby Keith.. Funny. Willie is a legend. Has tons of good songs.

I love this song. It’s just an old cowboy song. A bride and groom are being chased by either Texas Rangers or Texas Bandits. They ended up in Old Mexico and the couple made their last stand. They both were killed by the 7 rangers/bandits. Ray Charles wrote this.

To answer your question about Willie...He is an iconic writer and singer. He had a hard time getting to his perch, but his unique voice/cadence and writing prowess eventually landed him at the top. I don't agree with Willie on some of his politics, but I love him nonetheless. And Ray is obviously a treasure as well! Peace, Love!!

A family friend of ours owns a funeral home here in our home town and two other towns . Their momma and baby sister had gone to Mexico to visit family and while they where there their momma passed away . She is ( was ) a mother of 12 kids all married . She had 42 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. They all drove to Mexico in a trail of cars to bring her home. They played this song all the way home . When they got back it was also played at her memorial . This song holds so many many memories with her and the family . At each and every party we go too they play this song in memory of their parents . Love it keep ROCKIN

The song is about an outlaw who is being chased by lawmen. He tells his woman that they won't take him back to Texas to be put in jail he would rather die fighting. Then, after he gets killed. His woman picks up his gun knowing it's empty and not wanting to go on without her man. Points the gun at the approaching lawmen only to get shot down as well. As to where the seven Spanish angels take them both to heaven.
