this is very much moldovan culture, singing about the forest and the rivers flowing around us, the sun and the moon, the lyrics are so much more beautiful in romanian too, because they sound like our oldest poems and legends!
also little fun fact, the flute player is also part of a basm (old folk tale), and when the "bride" drinks from the bowl it has "dor" written on it, which is a Very important motif and emotion ingrained in our culture, it can't be fully translated but its the feeling of missing and longing and melancholy mixed with love and wistfulness! I'm honestly so happy with this year's song choice, hope Pasha ranks high ♡ (and thank u for the reaction)

It’s not about a wedding, it’s an allegory of death with the song based on a heavily cultural Moldovan poem, in which a shepherd gets killed and tells his sheep to lie to his mom that he got married as to not break her heart
