Awesome and informative lecture. I started a ketogentic diet nearly a year ago, with a surprising effect: no more anxiety! I feel so liberated after 20+ years of suffering. Keto for life!
@@larala8204 About 2 weeks. The first week was rough, but I just hung in there, exercised and increased my electrolytes, which helped. By the second week, I was feeling unusually calm and grounded. By the third week, I realized my anxiety was no longer sitting under the surface, ready to pop at the slightest triggering thought or situation. Since then, I've been in numerous previously panic inducing situations with zero anxiety, and even did a dance performance which I NEVER would have attempted before! (I was a bit nervous, but it felt like a natural response, and completely tolerable.) I definitely recommend anyone with anxiety give keto a try!
@@truthnfreedomseeker Really. That sound's great. I just started my Keto diet, I hope for the same experience. Sorry for bothering you, but can you please tell me did you follow the diet from the book, or just figure out on your own. You mentionet electrolyes? like wather or.something else? I have a really dificult period right now....
@El Jay it didn't work out for me. I am someone who doesn't like to eat meat every day. Now I try to avoid sugar an dairy products, I eat a lot of veggies and berries, drik more water and take supplements B and probiotics. I also do yoga 4 times per week.
MSG was the cause of my three decades of anxiety. I finally figured it out and am better now. Three decades of being told I was bi-polar (despite never having a manic episode - shrinks are friggin idiots). Last week I mistakenly got some glutamates in my diet (the cheese biscuits at Red Lobster use torula yeast instead of MSG, but my body responded the same). It took about a hour to induce my anxiety and a couple days to flush out of me. I still don't eat a lot of protein, so I supplement with theanine, arginine, lysine, and tyrosine. Beware of anything that crosses the blood brain barrier. 5-HTP, DHEA, SAM-e, and St Johns Wort all created havoc in my system.
Glad you figured that out. If you like the cheese biscuits than you have to try our recipe for our gluten free cheddar biscuits th-cam.com/video/Aonc-m8m0RM/w-d-xo.html
I definitely resonate with what she's saying regarding environmental stress and it's contribution to depleting the good microbiome, though I had never heard this before! However, I'm wondering about the opposite effects. What happens when it's a gut issue triggering anxiety (such as candida, or leaky gut due intestinal permeability from say... celiacs or something) Anxiety can be manifested through the microbiome as well, from my understanding, and does not always have to have an extrinsic factor, hence why people feel more at ease and more calm, when on a keto diet or a diet that supports gut and brain. It's hard to tell someone to be mindful who has chronic gut issues. I would agree that having anxiety, and then responding to that anxiety physically exasperates the situation.
Oooo I love that question! So interesting, I have not seen any studies on it but I would say safe to say that community, intimacy, connection, joy would create an environment for a robust microbiome to thrive.
On keto for the last 3 months anxiety gone best thing ever

@@DearNadia I think both, I get anxious on a meeting, in a grocery store, when I have to go to some event, everyday....

yes my book goes deep into this
One more question: if stress depletes microbiome, would something like intimacy increase it? (that might be a silly question...)
