personally its my favorite Batman game of alltime, and I'm born mostly in N64-NGC-PS2 era, but I still have a working NES with a few games that I do enjoy. the game is a fun side scroller but is mercilessly hard...needless to say the music in this game is more memorable than in most modern batman games
slightly unrelated, but Batman Returns (the movie) was originally going to have a sequel, a third TB Batman movie would have been great, apparently Joker was going to return, and so was Cat Woman, but people complained that it was too dark and violent so instead.....we got the Batman Forever movies.... Imagine this kind of flashy badass music ON SNES, a third Batman game based on the third movie could have been amazing. I really want to hear this in 16-bit now!
There was nothing like switching on the NES on a Saturday morning as a kid and playing through an entire game. Even if the game froze or you got your ass kicked, you just accepted it and restarted the game. I really think that taught me a bit of patience and discipline. We now live in an age of instant gratification and expecting everything for nothing. Times sure have changed - nothing will ever beat the 90s. They were the golden years.
Back in the day, this game was a state of the art masterpiece for the NES. The music, the graphics, the level design, the boss battles, you name it. Definitely one of the best NES games.
This was one of the greatest game on the NES imo. And one of the, if not THE best licensed moviegame of all time. Dear lord the music is still adreanaline pumping to this day..
Whenever I hear cool sounding NES music like this I always try to imagine what it would sound like if a band was playing it. (guitars, bass, and drums)
For those that have this game-no matter how-play it today with your whole heart, for a great actor and human being has left us recently. Thank you Kevin Conroy. 😢😭
For NES, this is a very strong composition. It's like a mini-song. Tragic minor-key, fitting for the subject material. A 4-phrase(!) intro. Nice chord progression and interesting melody for the verse. And a chorus climax that almost repeats. Very driven tempo, like a locomotive. It even has an outro before it loops. Not an expert but I'd rank it as one of the best Stage themes ever composed for NES. That the sound team was able to extract this from a limited channel and sound producing system is extraordinary. I mean, I hear a bass-line, drum-line and a complex sounding echo melody in the chorus.
Sunsoft were masters of sound on the NES! Fully sample drums hits, a near FM synthesis sound emulation, reverb on a 5 channel 8-bit sound chip, and one of the greatest epic songs ever written!
This game will forever stay in my and my brother's beating heart forever !! :) we played this , contra , monaco , spiderman , robocop , terminator , chip and dale ... alot of mario stuff ... lion king ... tetris ... Battle tanks :D man oh man ... those were the days 15 years ago :P .. im 22 now my bro is 24 .. things change fast but we are still the same kids inside :) always passing stages in life :D NICE VIDEO !! love this game's soundtrack's thx alot dude ! :)
@Lindsay Vail first off Millennials range up to the 40s so unless you're a damn near 50 year old guy on TH-cam you might want to check your facts. Also Bale was the better Batman.
I remember playing this game when I was little and remembered this song instantly. Games were a lot harder back then, or at least made you play through them all in one sitting.
@Densester Man, I can hear the pearls falling on the ground tore off from Bruce Wayne's mother necklace when he had a flashback of his childhood in the Batcave.
One of my favorite video game songs ever. For 8 bit NES, this was well ahead of it's time. I'd love to see any of these new gamers try and play this game. Games these days aren't about the gameplay like it used to be. This game had it all! It suited the Batman franchise very well. Just my .02
Damn, I always thought i was the only one who love this tune, liked it nearly 20 years ago as I play the game, and now I find here metal covers and other remixes....great !
I could hear this song looping for eternity and still not get enough of it. Simply Epic. Back in the days videogame music was still videogame music and not movielike music like it is now
I always listening to this version and the Jimmy Thell version of Streets of Desolation in work..... And man..... i would cry about this music... Extremely good.
It's still mindblowing how such a good song can be composed on a 8bit system
No super high tech or autotune, just pure Batman
this track has bass in it omfg these people back then were no less than Einstein
Still gets my heart racing!!!!!
the guy was Japanese
ever heard of the C64 and Jeroen Tel?
This game is a visual and audio masterpiece. It's definitely one of the greatest NES games of all time.

Zealot King
i like pink ass holes :)
IBroLLyI ISephirothI hahahhaha xD
but really , i live this theme so bad
What they did within the many technical limits is pretty amazing. Its still IMO some of the best music ever made. Elegance in simplicity
This music needs to come back in a new Batman game
Batman Returns music is quite sick as well!
Batman Returns had the better soundtrack IMO. But it's too fucking underrated.

I wholeheartedly agree
“We just need music for a Nintendo game, nothing special.”
Naoki Kodaka: “YOU WANNA GET NUTS?!?! COME ON!!! Let’s get nuts!!”
Oh my god, I remember getting so pumped up playing this. The music got your blood flowing.
Dear lord, I'm 28 and crying like a b*tch listening to this.
The nostalgia is mighty.
25 mate, still remember playing this...
Amen. // 35 year old.
35 listening to this in 2020. 1 of the GOAT right here. Whoever composed this song is worthy of greater status than Mozart.
42 and doing the same nostalgia is a very powerful thing
32 😑

I remember getting this game on my birthday a long time ago. such a great game wish i still had it.
Whenever I hear cool sounding NES music like this I always try to imagine what it would sound like if a band was playing it. (guitars, bass, and drums)

It's not only great, it screams Batman. Every time I see a Batman movie it automatically plays on my head. It fits so well.
for 8 bit it even beats 16 bit damn i always loved this game and the music
never gets old
You are right it never gets old
2 years later (or 3, not really sure) and it’s still not old.
This sounds incredible on headphones
you have to admit, this was the best, if not one of the best batman games in the 90"s
Still the best Batman game.
yes
Since this game, all were thrash until arkham saga. Still playing this from time to time :).
Andrés Vlad Doménech Alcaide Batman II, the ones made by Konami and Sega were excellent too, breh
Adventures of Batman And Robin for both the SNES and the Genesis were masterpieces, althought they were hard af
The best music of NES.
Maybe the best NES audio track ever. Certainly within the top five to be sure.
My brother couldn't end this game & he was having only single life left.
He gave me the controller but somehow i managed to kill joker :D
Man it was damn hard to kill joker. He used to suck 4 bars of life with just one electric shock😅
Sunsoft were masters of sound on the NES! Fully sample drums hits, a near FM synthesis sound emulation, reverb on a 5 channel 8-bit sound chip, and one of the greatest epic songs ever written!
I play this song on a loop when I play Arkham games
@SolidSnake0621 I should try that lmao :P
The fucking drums
oh god so many flashbacks on my head listening to this theme T^T. awesome theme
“Fear is a tool. When that light hits the sky, it’s not just a call, it’s a warning.”
It's a warning that a guy wearing a massive purple suit will run at criminals and throw 36 boomerangs at them
This game will forever stay in my and my brother's beating heart forever !! :) we played this , contra , monaco , spiderman , robocop , terminator , chip and dale ... alot of mario stuff ... lion king ... tetris ... @@thatbeefman8042 both are great
Juan S. Moreno Kevin conroy?
@Lindsay Vail first off Millennials range up to the 40s so unless you're a damn near 50 year old guy on TH-cam you might want to check your facts. Also Bale was the better Batman.
@Lindsay Vail Im literally a gen z
Man this takes me back... and STILL it kicks ass why in fuck are their not remix's of this!!!?
This song started playing in my head again and I haven't played it since five years. Dis is the best track in the game from my opinion.
Even the MIDI versions are outstanding. Some of those files are above 50kb and by looking at the track data it's intense as the music itself.
I remember playing this game when I was little and remembered this song instantly. Games were a lot harder back then, or at least made you play through them all in one sitting.
The music had a special power that let us remember our best memories of our life. Greetings and God bless you !! : )
i can smell the smoke coming from the nes.
I can see the actual thing melting.
No kidding.
OMG... Burnt plastic... I remember too...
@Densester Man, I can hear the pearls falling on the ground tore off from Bruce Wayne's mother necklace when he had a flashback of his childhood in the Batcave.
Lol
Great music, I remember how happy I was when my dad got me this game, unfortunately I never could get past the 2nd level
Why
One of my favorite video game songs ever. For 8 bit NES, this was well ahead of it's time. I'd love to see any of these new gamers try and play this game. Games these days aren't about the gameplay like it used to be. This game had it all! It suited the Batman franchise very well. Just my .02
so sick
This track and the first stage music of Ninja Gaiden get you so hyped
The drums 🤩🤩🤩
Damn, I always thought i was the only one who love this tune, liked it nearly 20 years ago as I play the game, and now I find here metal covers and other remixes....great !
One of my favorite Nes game music themes besides Guardian Legend and Ninja Gaiden
After all these years, I still remember it
The Best Batman game ever. Fight me
Damn this brings back memories
That theme gives me goosebumps.
iPhone ringtone!
one of my all time favorites,, thanks for posting this!!!
The BEST music
This track rightfully belongs to The Shadow.
This game really portraits Batman as Batman. Dark as a bat must be.
i loved this game, i played it over and over again back then.
I could hear this song looping for eternity and still not get enough of it. Simply Epic. Back in the days videogame music was still videogame music and not movielike music like it is now
YEAHHHHHHHHH ! FINALLY I FOUND U XD
I played this game so
Much, that I had to put the Nintendo cartridge in the freezer to get it to work at times.
dynamic and the drum beats are exceptionally impressive for an nes title!
Omg memorieeees :')
ive spend days on this game :D 5/5 and fave
What a nice, excellent, impressive theme. Will always love it !!!
Batman logic: get hit 8 times to die and shrivel into fire
I played this game before I saw the movie & I read the comic adaption of the movie before I saw the movie! XD
Awesome game!
May be the best video game song ever. This shit's so good
uplifting beats and badass synth.
I remember first hearing this song and thinking that it sounded like something from earthbound beginnings, I still think that.
The music makes me flashback younger age. Very memorable ♥️
I was searchin' for this sound for along time ago jejejee Thanks!
this is the song i always imagine on every batman novel, comic, game, series and movie
I love Mega Man's music, too (particularly the opening theme from MM2). But I really like the tunes in Batman.
Streets of desolation best music in the game ever.
This is the greatest Nes song ever made! this is coming from a die hard megaman fan and we all know how good dat megaman music is.
Batman is now punching air!
I always listening to this version and the Jimmy Thell version of Streets of Desolation in work..... And man..... i would cry about this music... Extremely good.
best game song ever, up there with the first castlevania song
GOAT.
True batman theme
Great memories, still awesome
This theme reminds me of Shinobi (SEGA Master System) and Castlevania (NES Stage 1)
i love this song =)
una obra maestra definitivamente .
I returned to my childhood! awesome
Masterpiece!!!!! Classic! EPIC!
Christ...this makes me remember my childhood all over again. Those were the days!

i love this game.
This is the very best song ever of all time. Fact.
Excellent music in this game.
im addicted to this song!
Man, this song gives some of my favorite NES music pieces some competition.
Lots of key Changes and cool melodies ! No wonder I was an Yngwie fan!!! This is like Neoclassical for NES.
All these old school games had amazing soundtracks!
this is so gooooooooood!
Damn that takes me back. :)
This game was really good shit and nobody knew about it.
It was like Castlevania or Contra, but with batarangs and Joker goons.
Such a sick song.
This song... Grooves into my soul.
meticulousgeek same here. What an intense flow this song has got.
