I work at Windham Weaponry and it is a great place to work. They really care about the employees and the quality of the rifles that we build. Glad you enjoyed the rifle!
Do you still work there, and if so, what does the "RF" stand for in the model "MPC-RF"? I just won a bid on one last night on Gun Broker.
@@Vladpryde Someone told me it stood for, "Ri---Fle." LOLOL
And good luck on ol' Zeke seeing your comment in his post from four years ago... but it could happen.
Yo Zeke, what's up. Haven't seen you since highschool lol
Great to find u here... I have question about it rifle with a rifle number it starts from yE023497........ Or ur number start with WW....... ETC
I just bought a Dissipator from them... Can't wait to pick it up.

I work for Windham as one of their lead Qc team leaders and a former Bushmaster qc dept member, And I wanted to send you my thanks on a great review.
I did however notice that your carry handle had a slight purple tint, so Ide love to swap that out for you if youd like. Please call our customer service dept and mention my name Roger Cote, and that I noticed the color and would like to swap that out.
Ill send them an email letting them know what I saw.
also our commercial tubes are made from an extrusión so unlike the early commercial tubes with a welded end these are solid from end to end.
again thanks for a great review.
Thanks for offering to do that, but it must not be too bad since I've not noticed it. :-)
hickok45
no problem.
color is one thing we strive to keep constant. so if we start seeing a change we notify our finish house right away.
your carry handle didnt look bad but I did notice a slight hue of purple which is part of black. but we tend to see what our customers normally dont. were our biggest critics on all our products.
sgtcote1 I would like a rifle please lol worth a shot
Windham Weaponry is the BEST AR for the money . I bought a Windham AR 15 chambered in 7.62x39 NO PROBLEMS . VERY ACCURATE . ...
I recently sold my (excellent!!!) Stag Arms and I miss having an AR. I love the story of your company, the people that work there (seen with the tour by the Military Arms Channel) and as an engineer myself I apreciate the quality work you do. My next AR will be a Windham for sure...
Hi hickock45, I´m a fan from Mexico and I really enjoy your videos. I love you always call for the defense of gun rights, because when they are gone (like here ), it´s impossible to have them back. Even with a very restrictive law as ours, we have way more gun related deaths here in mexico than you in the "free states". Best Regards and thanks for the great videos!
{Jose Bartilotti} As much as I support the ownership of firearms, I doubt the reinstitution of gun rights will help your situation at all. If anything, it is poverty and poor living conditions that are driving violence. Hence, that is why gun violence in the US disproportionately affects inner cities (i.e. gangs) and the less affluent with mental illnesses.
@@a.melanoleuca2247 In Mexico people would be able to stand up against the cartels if they had Guns. The issue is that the government arrests you and sends you to prison for 5-15 for carrying an illegal gun. This usually discourages the law abiding citizens from having guns. The only calibers allowed are 12 gauge shotgun, .380, and .357. There are only two stores in the entire country that sale ammo and only 500 rounds per month I believe. The government in Mexico loves the people defenseless, it has nothing to do with poverty. Here in the USA the country could turn the wrong way if Democrats get their way.
No Matter which name is on it, as long as it was made in Windham it's a Quality Gun.
Live just a few town's over from their manufacturing plant in Windham, couldn't be more proud of a Maine owned business
Windham weaponry is right next to where I live. That's where I bought my AR. Great people there. They work on their ARs for free as long as you buy the pars through them.
JS Maine good service
JS Maine is AR15 better than an ak47
JS Maine they're the best around, cant complain
It has less recoil, it's ammo is cheaper, highly customizable, and is more reliable. I would say yes IMO.
ak74 has less recoil than an ar15, as long as it is in 5.45x39.
When they came up with the saying "Respect your elders", Hickok45 is the elder they had in mind! Amazing knowledge for generations to come and to be shared accordingly. Thank you for everything!
I don't own a Windham AR, but when I have handled them in stores, they look really well made and feel really solid.
Just purchased my first AR, a Bushmaster coincidentally enough, after having watched all your helpful videos on the AR platform. Thank you, Mr. Hickok.
How old is the rifle?
I lost my granddad in 2013, you remind me so much of him it’s crazy. So glad I found the channel, Love the videos.
Hope you keep shooting for many many years to come! Love your videos!
i had bought an src 308 and i had run into reliability issues but Windham weaponry has a great warranty program and did just that the updated the gas system on it, and also upgraded the gas block for a larger one and also changed my ejector out, for a polished one and ran all types of ammo in it and broke it in or me kudos to them. the issues i had where failure to eject failure to feed and failure to fire i know all the failures you can have. But like i said they have a great warranty program and rectified the issue right away and got it back to me quickly and i love my src 308
As a former Bushmaster owner and Maine resident I purchased a XM-15-ES (M4A3) semi automatic in 2010 and was lucky enough to have the BFI Windham ME stampings on it. It was my favorite out of my 5 I owned at the time and never had a single problem with it. When Bushmaster moved on to Madison NC I have and will not ever purchase a bushmaster again. I will be looking into Windham.
I have three of the Windham Weaponry AR's one each in 5.56, 7.62 x 39 and .308. I have had no problems with them ever. They consistently deliver 1 to 1-1/2" groups at 100 yards. I haven't been able to find a range that goes out over 300 yards yet but even at 300 yards they deliver consistent performance. Love Windham Weaponry products. My next purchase will probably be one of their multi-caliber offerings. Great company. Thanks for reviewing them.
masonpk what's the retail price for the dissipation? looking for another ar15.
masonpk thanks appreciate that!
Windham makes good guns. One of my AR15's and my AR10 are both Windham.
Good guns, great prices, and no complaints.
Unless you are in the $2K budget for a top-line AR or are going to build your own, I would suggest Windham every time. No reason to pay a few hundred more for S&W or Colt, and they are worth the extra hundred from a DMPS.
They even come with a sling and a nice case (as opposed to the box most budget ARs come in).
Oakspar, do you know if this gun shoots steel cased ammo like Wolf and Tulammo?
Andy Appleton I have a Windham weaponry SRC and have fired hundreds of steel case 5.56 with no problems
I have watched several videos on this carbine and this is the only video that clearly explains the dissipator. Thanks Hickok45!
I've owned the Windham Weaponry SRC witch is their base model rifle for almost 6 years now and I love it! Not a single jam or misfire and I've put hundreds of rounds through it! I even went against the manufacturers recommendations and ran a 20 round mag of steel casings through it and not a single problem! The accuracy is amazing for a 16 inch carbine even with the cheapo Barska Electrosight I have on it! I highly recommend it for a newbie to AR's or someone who just wants a good quality AR15 but doesn't want to break the bank to get one!
I have the 10 and 15, and love it. 6 years now and not a single issue with it.
I have both a R16M4FTTKH, in .556 and a 18FSFSM-308. Both are excellent rifles, and Windham has been excellent to work with. They were very supportive in a project to help the family of a fallen officer. Windham is a GREAT company.
YOU'RE CONFUSING ME! STOP IT! LMSBO! You really know your stuff, my friend. Way back when, in Nam, we did EXACTLY what you discribed, and really had 'issues' that we had to figure out the hard way. Seriously, THANKS for the memories.
Michel Gaudet I think it had something to do with throwing the timing off...DI can be finicky...
I was not there, but I read about it.
hickok45
I am truly glad you WEREN'T there. It sort of changed a lot of us, not always for the better. However, I would not be who I am today were it not for the experience.
I have been WATCHING your 'shenanigans' for quite a while now, and FINALLY subscribed. Now I can keep an eye-ball on ya_ hee hee. You sure KNOW your stuff, and I like the way you say you are not sure about something when not, so keep-it-up, please.
I am an airgun buff, with no 'powder burners' around here. But I enjoy hunting. Few years ago I took a Cape Buffalo with 50cal PCP while in Africa with a group_ TONS-O-FUN, and I got to feed a small village.
Hickok, I have two WW rifles, a .223 and a .308. Both have been 100% reliable thus far.
I have several AR's but my Windham is by far my favorite!!!
Keep talking Hickok. I really enjoy the tangents on the history of these firearms and their manufacturer's history too!
I own a Windham Weaponry AR and love it. Runs great and it's very dependable.
Thank you. In the Army I used the A1 and the A2. I finally bought an AR M4 configuration and it felt odd to me. I miss the old a2. I enjoyed the lesson.
My first AR I bought last year is the WW Carbon fiber AR-15. I absolutely love it.
THANKS hickok. I was just looking at one today. Just about plunked down the cash.....but decided to research a little more first. The timing of this video couldn't have been more perfect. Keep up the great work Brother, we appreciate it more than you'll ever know.
Truly respect him for sharing his knowledge as well as being entertaining at the same time!
That makes me want a Windham even more now because they gave the middle finger right back at the Corporate Plutocrats who dont give a damn their employees,.. I love it !! Thanks Hickok45 for telling that, I didnt know that !! Not to mention most of the barrels on Windhams are C/Lined..
I have a Windham CDI , I love it , I knew the back story of the company and that was one of the reasons I bought Windham,
I got one of there carbon fibers & have had 0 problems with it. Like you, I did my home work & decided to put my money in a company that makes good quality firearms, plus the warranty is awesome to. Been looking at & wanting a .308 nut meg thumb hole stock they have when I get the $$. As always I appreciate what you & John do for us gun owners.
Have had my Windham for 4 years, and I have enjoyed shooting it :-) Thanks for plugging a US company Mr Hickok!
Great video, W.W. Dissipator is my absolute favorite AR. Just attach a good comp and it will feel like a mid-length system with a reliable cycling of a carbine gas system combined with a longer site radius of a rifle length gun which comes in very handy.. You could achieve the benefits of all three gas system in one rifle, it's very cool. Plus I really like that it's a 1 in 9 twist for accuracy with lighter cheaper ammos, it's great for fun day at the range.
Thank you for the history on the Dissipator style rifle and Windham Weaponry. As an older person, I'm a little overwhelmed by the modern AR rifles. I used an M-16 in my service days; so these vintage style AR's are my cup of tea.
I have a WW Carbon Fiber .223/5.56, 16" barrel. Changed the rail for a 14" Troy, BCM gas block, and Vortex scope. Love it.
I've had a Windham AR for almost 4 years and I love it.
How’s it holding up
@@justsomemincedgarlic it's been great. Never had any kind of issue. They do have a lifetime warranty also.
My first AR was(is) a WW, and it was also my first gun ever. Great manufacturer!
Great review Hickok45!!!! I find your reviews extremely helpful and I remain amazed at your marksmanship. To add to your review, at the recommendation of my LGS, I purchased and I have owned a Windham Weaponry "MPC" NJ Compliant .223/5.56 (Model R16M4A4PT-MA) for several years and enjoy shooting it at my LGC. The build is first class and the handle sights at so good (IMHO) that I decided to keep them instead of going to a red dot or optical sight. I have run 55 gr. through 62 gr. (both in .223 and 5.56 NATO) without any problem. It breaks down without issue.
My only comments for consideration are: (1.) Buy Windham Weaponry or other high end magazines. I have had FTF issues with "generic" magazines purchased at my LGS; (2.) I do wish the forearm had rails on it. But, in the spirit of being a truest to the original build, I guess that is just a personal taste; (3.) My rifle came with a case, which I do appreciate and is certainly functional. But, it is not of quality build commensurate to that if the rifle. Overall...I would absolutely buy it again. There are more expensive AR platform products out there. But, the quality for the price can't be beat.
dang Hickok your 6'8"!.. I'm 6'4. I didn't realize you were that tall. thanks for the video.
He's nearly as tall as one of my uncles...7'0. Absolute skyscrapers.
Rodney J I'm 6'-4" and my uncle 6'-8". Had a Bushmaster dissapator in 1999. it fit like a glove for tall guys.
Rodney J His son is 6'10"
Im 5’11 so wtf
dicky shep you're short, that's what!
my first Ar was a Bushmaster Dissapater. Longer sight radius on the shorter barrel makes for a more accurate rifle.
Good video....as always. I like the rear sight, A4 Dual Aperture, Elevation and Windage Adjustable for 300 - 600 Meters. Comes with a decent hard plastic case, sling, full lifetime warranty that is transferable, great tech support and customer service. Thanks Hickok45.
Hickok, there's a huge difference between a Milspec and Commercial buffer tube. Milspec is made from 7075 series aluminum and Commercial is made from 6061 series aluminum. 7075 aluminum is twice as strong as 6061. As well as, 6061 is extruded and 7075 is forged. Since 7075 is so difficult to extrude, due to its strength. Hence, the difference in materials for added strength and the process in how it's made...i.e., extrusion vs, forging. A milspec buffer tube is significantly stronger. As well it cost more for a milspec tube too. But, it the buffer tube is ever dented or bent enough. The entire rifle goes down. The manner in which most people are going to use their AR's. A person will be fine with either buffer tube. But if a person wants a true fighting rifle per se. Then a Milspec buffer tube is the way to go.
Great info, thanks! I knew of Windham but did not know the history.
I just bought a dissipator HBar barrel kit. Good product for a good price. Good service also. Like you i wanted one back in the late 90s. Took me this long to get one. I still have the 1998 Bushmaster catalog.
I bought this same rifle a month or so ago. Took it to the range last weekend. No complaints. :-)
SonOfTheDawn515 uncle got one yesterday taking it out tomorrow
Anthony Mancuso thanks for the information.... -,-
Anthony Mancuso Less recoil than I remember. Definitely no buyer's remorse with this one!
I have a WW-15 SRC.
Well made guns and very fun to shoot.
I love dissys
What timing...just received a 'mock' dissipator from PSA for a fantastic price....love the look and feel. As a bonus, I was not aware of the the Bushmaster/Windham Weaponry history....always a win/win with hikock45, Thank you!
I wanted one so bad. They sold out right when I was checking out so I just bought a rifle length upper with an 18 inch barrel.
Can't have too many ARs...if only I could convince my wife.
Sell the wife to buy another ar...
A fairly priced AR will never be a bad investment.
go back in the fight .
Colt 1911, you are right...and I happen to know there is a long box in top of closet, behind folded blankets, that says FN on it. Just waiting to be gift wrapped. Gonna be a merry Christmas. I think I will keep her.
Buy her a couple, then introduce her to a women's shooting club. (There are a few out there) Before you know it she will own more than you (and more blinged out too!)
For those of us that live in states with more strict gun laws Windham makes the HBC model which is Maryland compliant. I got one a year ago and I LOVE IT
I have a MPC since 2012, it's still very tight even after 3k-5k rounds...I feed it with federals and fiocchi, they had no issue; my handload stuff, rarely a jam. (and mostly because I had to use a 10 rounds CA. legal magazine.; no issue to 20 or standard sized one.)
Anyway, a friend of mine that had custom Daniel D build and was pretty impressed my "cheapo" little Windham build. Her husband even comment that it feels like a old bushy. I actually recommend to other friends and they also got Windhams. And a few of them were ex-military.
Great and reasonable ARs.
I'm impressed by the gas block configuration. I knew it worked well with the AK but was never sold with the AR. Now I see it was an improvement I'll take one. I still have my hands on an 80's pre ban A1 model that I will love to the end. The only thing I didn't like about the newer Bushmaster was the occasional steel bore instead or the chrome bore. Either way great weapon and you made a great video.
I love the old school Ar-15's also! I have always liked how the carry handle looks. I have one with a fixed carry handle so my scope and red dot are mounted pretty high. It looks kinda strange but it does the job and that is all that counts! The day you posted this I was at the range shooting also. :) Great vid! I did not know anything about Windom Arms and now I know the story about them. Maybe my next Ar will be a Windom! THANKS for the info!
Bought a WW AR over the weekend put a few rounds down range and I love mine nice review Hickock 45 Thanks.
I've gotta throw this out there, in defense of my favorite AR configuration. the 16"/rifle length configuration DOES INDEED WORK. as long as the gas port gets opened up to at least .101". because of the sort dwell time, the gas port needs to be enlarged over the std 20"/rifle length specs. just like the 14.5"/carbine length has a .063" port, but the 10.5"/carbine length has a .093" port. They become unreliable ONLY if the port is undersized (such as cutting a 20" down to a 16" without touching the port) , or the barrel is cut to short, such as on the Colt 605-A/605-B, which had a ~15" barrel, giving only 2/3 of the dwell time that a 16"/rifle length has. basically, Colt screwed up the reputation of every ArmaliteRifle-15 configuration possible.
Hey I just came across this comment.
I was misdelivered a FN Cold hammer 20" with a rifle length gas system when I had ordered a 16".
so you're saying if I chop my 20 to 16 and leave it untouched I won't cycle right? but if I ask the smith to increase the gas port to .101" I will actually be in the sweet spot for the rifle to function reliably?
@@glockmaster9516 Good question. I wish River saw this comment to answer it
I find mine, and mind you I've been out six years, is better put together than my issued M4s in the army. The upper and lower are nice and tight together. And I think this trigger may be nicer.
simple and light. i think thats my favorite setup. a2 carry handle and all.
back in 04 when i got my first ar it was advised to stick with your abc's armalite, bushmaster, and colt. olympic arms didnt have a stellar rep
Something about that A2 carry handle FSB gets me giddy every time!
I love my windham weaponry Src never had a problem with it
I have a Bushmaster that was made in Huntsville Alabama ! GOOD GUN !! NO PROBLEMS !!
Awesome video Sir. You are and have been my go to guy on all guns. I have owned my WR-15 for about two years now first AR for me. Works great. Not a problem. Would put it up against any brand. Thanks for all the videos over the years.
That A2 style rifle on the table is a thing of beauty. I absolutely love A2 style rifles.
I purchased a Windham Wesponry HBC last month and it Rocks!!! By the way you are the reason I purchased an Arsenal SLR last year. Thanks again !!!!
During the pandemic shutdown Windham Weaponry switched over to only putting Mil-Spec buffer tubes on all of their rifles.
I own a Windham MPC M4 and i absolutely love it.
I bought my first AR15 in 2006, the Bushmaster. The guy at the gun store said it was top quality(I didn't know squat so took him at his word). Damn was he right. Never any failures or issues since. So now the Windham facility has been back in business, I'm saving up for their SRC .308.
I have a Bushmaster Dissipator that I bought about 10 years or so ago and carried it on duty until I retired. I liked the idea of being able to have a compact overall size plus the accuracy potential of a 20 inch AR sight radius.
I used Bushmaster rifles for longer that that and have had nothing but positive results regardless of configuration. From what I have seen/heard/read I wouldn't hesitate to buy an WW gun if I were shopping for another.
I like Windham Weaponry. I don't own one, but I have a friend who bought one over this past summer and he loves it. I've shot it and I had no complaints. It's a well-built AR for sure.
I have met Hickock45 twice at NRAAM. Down to earth gentleman.
Great vid hickok. I really wish they made "actual" dissipators where it utilizes a rifle length gas system. I built a dissipator with a 14.75" and rifle length gas system sans the A2 sight and military handguard. I chopped my 16" rifle length barrel down to 14.75", opened up the gas port from .105" to .125", run an adjustable gas block, and an A5 buffer system. Shoots reliably even under rapid fire!!
Man, that DI system was smoking like hell. Nice rifle and great video Hickok45
I liked the idea and configuration of the Dissipator, so I had M1 Sales build an upper for me with SS heavy barrel in .223 Remington, 1:9 twist, wasn't cheap!. Some of the other reasons I liked is the rifle length hand guards give better purchase for my hands as well as protecting the barrel from impact (as opposed to carbine length hand guards) and they protect the gas block much better then the front sight/gas block configuration. The lower I built myself, using a Timney trigger (3 pounds) and installed an Ace skeleton stock which I really like. I also had M1 build an upper for me in 7.62x39mm which I haven't fired yet. Normally I build both uppers and lowers for myself but I had the money at the time so I let M1 do it for me.
Hickcock, thank you for another excellent video, always appreciate you take the time to inform and entertain us!!!!
Bought a WW AR-10. Awesome machine! Had a snafu, though. 60 rounds in the trigger mechanism jammed up. Sent it back with doubts. Apparently, the green camo Magpul pistol grip dropped a plastic sprue into the mechanism when they screwed through it on assembly. It came back no charge. No doubt they won't let it happen again. Great .308! I love it and give major kudos to Windham!
I've had my WW AR-15 for about 5 years now. Very reliable, high quality. Shoots 5.56 and .223. Selling point to me was that they have a lifetime transferable warranty. They believe in their products!!!
My first AR15 I built as a dissipator. I like the look and longer sight radius.
I own the HBC and it's a great rifle. Second one in. Awesome firearms from the boys at WW
Another good video,I love watching your videos, looks like lots of fun and gets me to the range. I just bought a windham src....and I must say it's a fine firearm. With each rifle bought windam donates tem dollars towards veterans. They truly are a good company that does care, and they put out quality guns. I have a few hundred round with no failures to eject. Keep the videos coming, I'll keep watching!
I own a Windham Weaponry Carbon Fiber (SRC) rifle and it has had no issues at all. Also, who can beat a lifetime warranty for a rifle?
I'm the proud owner of both a Windham Weaponry WW-15 HBC and a Colt LE6920. The Windham Weaponry AR15 doesn't take a back seat to the Colt although it was several hundred dollars cheaper, and yes besides the name I know why the Colt is much more expensive. Windham Weaponry, an awesome company employing fantastic people.
The group of guys and gals who made the wife's AR15 and my AR10 there in Windham get my kudos. Zero fails of any kind, light and way more accurate than one would think. What are the chances of getting two AR variants in different calibers that run perfectly bought 3 years apart from any other company? I''m damn impressed.
I own the Windham Weaponry 20" Government M16 A2 version. Way better than the banged ones we were issued in the Army. Always a joy at the range.
Eugene Stoner is smiling somewhere:)
Thanks Hickok45. This video was great. Glad you picked up something that you have wanted for some time.
i bought a Bushmaster Dissipator back in january but i believe its a "mock" dissipator cause it has a mid-legnth gas system as opposed to the rifle legnth that most of the older ones had
You are incorrect. A quick google search shows many "dissipator uppers" as 16 inch barrels with rifle gas systems. Del-ton makes one. Though I do also see a mid length dissipator.
This quote was at the top of my google search as well: "Once upon a time, a "dissipator" AR was created by taking a 20" rifle-length gas system upper and cutting the barrel down to 16". This allowed the shooter to keep the long sight radius of a rifle for accuracy, but keep the carbine length barrel for maneuverability."
rAYMOND Kidwell the original dissipator was 16" with a rifle gas system. They were a PITA to get running well so most transitioned to 'mock' dissys with carbine gas, rifle FS/hg. BCM did the 'kino' a few years back, a 12.5" carbine gas with middy HG/fsb.
Absolutely hate the Freedom Group. Their ultimate sin being dragging Remington through the mud.
Think its safe to buy a new marlin 60 from em?
rex theDog I own a "remlin" 336BL and it's not a bad firearm. Very decent quality. A couple of scratches in the finish when new, but I mostly got over it. I also own an 870 tactical I bought last year and the quality is very good. I compared it directly with the 870 Police and could not discern a lot between them so I went the cheaper route. Ymmv though since they are owned by the freedom group and I have heard that quality depends on the day the firearms were made and who worked on them basically.
bigdave1917 I have a 10/22 and I'm 13, best .22 for you money
I have a windham govt. model.compared to my "other"brand AR the windham has great build quality and finish.very happy with it.
I won a Windham AR15 winter camo in MN last week in a raffle, being shipped to my local gun store here in WI. I own a few AR10's and love the Sig 716 the best. Even thou the wife has claimed it the research on it is up to me. Obviously I come to Hickok 45 for his thoughts.
I find your dry humor to be HILLARIOUS, H45!!!
Absolutely love the A2 stock
I had a Colt H-Bar back in the late 80's. It was a good rifle, but I always hated the bolt they used instead of a front take-down pin. Always struck me as a nuisance rather than an improvement. Didn't care for the way they called it a "heavy barrel", either. The only heavy part was from the gas block shoulder forward, and near as I can tell, did nothing to stiffen the barrel against flex. I would much rather have had a Bushmaster, but I got the Colt on a trade. Wasn't long after that they started talking about assault weapons bans, and the guy I got it from desperately wanted to reverse the trade. Had to tell him "sorry - no backsies."
Nice for old school , will stick with Danial Defense , IT is nice to know you can get old school . Thank you Sir
That old A2 is truly a thing of beauty.
No Sir the A1 was beautiful. The A2 is handsome.
I bought a WW SRC back in 2013 because of the story about the company restarting. I have only around 1.1 K rounds thru it and the only thing "stock" about it is the internals. The best thing I ever did was change the trigger to an ALG ACT....smoooth. The rifle is set up for long range with a 4x14x44mm scope and bipod. I would recommend a WW to anyone who wants an AR15.
I own an AR manufactured in NY and I am very much satisfied with it. Maybe some have had issues but not with my experience thankfully. I have owned it for several years.
I met hickok at a gun show in Tennessee sometime ago and he is one of a kind nice guy and holy crap is he freaking tall
I'm not experienced with ARs and am getting one soon. One way I go about choosing one is, I go to the Cabela's website and see what the highest ratings are and read the reviews. Windham seems to be the top choice.
love my Windham SRC.
I hate when Anti-Gun people call an AR15 an Assault Rifle/Assault Weapon. They preach about banning Assault Rifles/Assault Weapons, but they have NO idea how firearms work, and they have no idea what they are trying to ban. They think AR15's are Fully Automatic, but they are Semi-Auto (One round is fired when the trigger is pulled). And on top of that, the Anti-Gun people don't even know the difference between Semi-Auto and Full-Auto. They always say ban this Semi Auto Assault Rifle/Assault Weapon. That statement doesn't make ANY SENSE at all. It clearly shows they know nothing about firearms and what they are trying to ban. An Assault Rifle is a Fully Automatic Rifle. They think Semi Auto means Fully Automatic. The Anti-Gun people need to be educated on what they are trying to ban and what they are actually fighting for. How can you fight for something that you know nothing about?? It makes no sense to me.
Completely agree, the military uses weapons, I own firearms. I carry a self defense firearm. My permit says "Pennsylvania license to carry firearms". Maybe some people are prone to violence and every object is an instrument or opportunity for them to assault someone. Then they project their personality onto others. I guess some of us aren't programmed to think of violence all the time.
Thetechgenius I'm not anti-gun, but pro-gun living in an anti-gun country ;-) I thought ar15s could easily be converted in full auto?
Nope,.. even if you had a full auto trigger pack there's more to it than that. But is it easy ? its not real difficult but the question remains... do you ever want to legally take it out in public or risk having a police officer or game warden run its numbers or inspect it beyond visually glancing at it,.. there you go,.. but criminals will do what criminals do regardless of "easy"..
alex ossel It's not easy to convert an AR15 to full auto. A full Auto AR15 is a M16. The AR15 is the Civilian model of the military M16. Gun shops are not even allowed to carry a full Auto lower receiver part in their shop without a Class 3 license. And most shops don't have a Class 3 license or class 3 firearms. The full auto lower receiver part is regulated just as if it were a fully functional firearm. As for illegally modifying the AR15 without buying the lower receiver to fire full auto, I'm not sure. But I'm sure it's not easy. And if your caught modifying the lower receiver for full auto, you will go instantly to jail don't matter what state your in. Then you will never be allowed to own any type of firearm after that. Because that's a federal offense, and they don't play games with that kind if stuff.
Thetechgenius thanx. i learned something
I have a Bushmaster ORC made in the Windham plant. I love it.
The 11.5 commando and the mid length A2 dissipator are my favorites.
Nice rifles! I'm wanting to add one to my collection. Great video as always, Hickok! 👍
Bot my Windham SRC AR 15 three years ago and love it!
