  • This quick video explains negation in German, which is how to say the opposite of something. For example, I DON'T go shopping, that is NOT my wife, I saw NO ONE, I ate NOTHING, etc.
    You will need a basic knowledge of the German articles, so if you haven't yet seen the 'Adjective Endings with the Definite Articles' video, please watch that first by clicking here:

    Hi
    First of all, I wanted to thank you for your efforts to deliver this wonderful content. I am very much enjoying it and planning to take an exam in this coming summer. My aim is to get a higher score (B2-C1). And I wanted to know whether I can be fully ready for all the grammar part within the test by studying the content you are offering. Does this content contain all the German grammar or does it extend beyond this?

    In America, I have never heard “Maths” as is “Maths is not easy”. We just say Math.

      Yeah, it’s definitely British English to say ‘maths’

    Wirst du auch eines tages pilotin.
    What does trigger the genitive case in this instance.
    Can you please explain.

    • @HerrFerguson
      @HerrFerguson  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s a great question, but I’m afraid I’ve got no better answer than ‘It just is!’ 😂
      It’s to do with expressions of indefinite time (which aren’t governed by a preposition and aren’t adverbs)
      Another example is ‘eines Abends’ (One evening…)

      @@HerrFerguson that is actually better than needing to learn a whole new segment of german. I thought i missed something in your genitive case video.
      But thank you a lot for your time spent explaining every single time, a whole lot of love to you" Herr "

      It's called semantic congruence. It's a set phrase.
      These exist in all cases, and all are adverbials.
      You can see a list in Duden Grammar Band 4 Randnummer 1229
