Could you please explain the mechanism on how the plasma increases the acidity of the medium?

When active species ( for example NO3-, NO2- produced by air plasma) interacts with the medium (for eg: water), acidity of this medium increases ( for example when air plasma interacts with water, it produces Nitric acid in water). I hope it helps!
