  • Today we are taking a closer look at Lachie's latest purchase, a 2000 Honda Accord Euro R. Imported from Japan only a couple of years ago, this JDM sedan is an understated gem that most would look straight past. More Accord content to come!

    This is my favourite Honda Accord there's just something about that 90s look and feel it's timeless

      Totally agree. There is definitely something cool about 90s cars!

    Really nice review. I own a very clean example here in Jamaica 🇯🇲 and it’s a car I’ll never sell. 220hp from the factory with the h22a from the factory, electric power steering, double wishbone suspension, mugen titanium double tip exhaust, lsd gearbox, factory recaros etc. 90’s gem.

    The description you gave about the car right at the beginning is the reason I fell in love with Accords in the first place. They did not need to go through all this, Accords sold well enough but for some reason they went the extra mile and made a few very interesting sporty models such as the Type R which was exclusively sold in Europe and assembled in the UK and the two JDM EuroRs. Add to that the general unnecessary sportiness of the cars 4th gen onward due to things like double wish bone suspension and short gearing and you got yourself a fun every day car that looks and handles incredible on some coilovers paired with a set of nice aftermarket wheels and grippy tires

      Agreed. They are pretty underrated cars which are often overlooked by people who don’t know which I like about it

    Believe it or not, this is actually my dream car 🤣 I've been fascinated with the CL1 Accord for quite some time now, as it's definitely one of the forgotten Honda "R" models, and heavily overshadowed by the Integra and Civic Type R that were big around this time. These won't be legal to import to the USA until next year, but I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out when the time comes. Loved every minute of this review man, great job!

      Thanks mate appreciate it! It’s definitely a much rarer car than the civics and integras. It’s also significantly more refined and easier to live with 90% of the time but vtec transforms the car when you want to send it!

    Congrats on this purchase, the car looks so clean! I've had my cl1 for just over 2 years now here in Sydney, although it's nowhere near the same condition.
    Just an fyi on the steering weight, u can actually adjust it with the selector that's on the left of the steering column. Moving it to the + will increase the weight. I find it much better than the normal and light (-) setting.

    I just bought a 2011 accord euro R CU2 luxury,6 speed manual and very rare. Best car I’ve ever owned out of all the cars I’ve owned over 35 years.

    These are great. I got a 5th gen accord with H22 swapped in and it is just a blast on the highway and bad roads. It rides like a boat, but Im fine as all my other cars are hard AF. And somehting many non-honda guys, complain about how slow the cars feel, but they expect a rocket ship out of stock 2 liter engine. Recently there was a guy complaining that the s2000 is slow and he was flooring it at 4k rpm. Also he was comparing it to a Corvette. Some car channels are complete garbage.
    Great summary of the CL1. I thought this came with the F20b which is about 200hp, but maybe they made h22 ones as well.

    • @kerbweightmedia
      @kerbweightmedia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah exactly you can’t compare an s2000 with a v8! Completely different car. I think they did make a jap spec accord SIR-T with the f20b which looks pretty much the same but the Euro R is a slightly higher spec with the h22

    • @konholio2
      @konholio2 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@kerbweightmedia Not sure what they were thinking, but there is the 6th gen type-R which also has the H22A7 engine. I dont know if there is any considerable difference except the styling. Also there is the Torneo which seems very similar

    • @kerbweightmedia
      @kerbweightmedia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@konholio2 yeah the accord type r is based on the European accord and makes a little less power and the Torneo is jdm, same as my car but with a slightly different exterior. Then they had the US spec accord as well haha got no idea what they were thinking!

    I used to have an 02 accord v6 the 4 speed auto was trash. Now I have a 94 accord with a h22a swap. It's crazy that the older 4 cylinder is faster then a newer v6.

    • @kerbweightmedia
      @kerbweightmedia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thats crazy haha. The h22 goes hard! There’s something special about the vtec 4 cylinder engines

    How much you pay for it if you mind me asking? I’m looking at a CL7R 06

    • @kerbweightmedia
      @kerbweightmedia  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      $21k Aud with 96k kms on it. I was also considering cl7s however they seem to be a bit more expensive and I couldn’t find one with low ks. I would love to compare the two!

      yeah I agree. kiwicarlife did a comparison check his channel. Hondas are sick. I've come full circle. I have a hsv background. @@kerbweightmedia
