    I watched from beginning to end with out stopping!!! It wasn’t that boring!! You showed us how to identify when moisture gets past the epoxy into the wood. I did like how structural strong the boat is, but when you took pieces of boat structure off they just popped off!! Pretty cool!! Great video!!!

    I took a shot like that back in Finley. Luckily i had a carbon fiber hull so i put on a band aid and sent it back out. Tail feathers went confetti though.

    As for your solution of adding L-shaped plywood doublers to reinforce the thick bulkhead where it snapped, maybe a few strips of lightweight fiberglass would do the trick in a more elegant fashion. Just an ideia. 😁

      Well, I made to the end of the video! 😉 Love watching this, even though it was real painful to watch (and hear) plywood and stringers being torn off. When watching all this carnage, I had more than a few moments when I thought "But why?" Personally, I would have put that boat on a shelf as a souvenir of RC racing, and built myself a brand new one. But that's me... I don't have the kind of patience you have Scott! Keep them video's comin'!

    That's tedious work. You might you made a comment about what would make it harder. well if you use the butterknife instead of the little blade that you was using. that might make it harder. Ha. Awesome work. Thanks for your instructive videos. Even if 1 is watching its well worth the time to spark interest in our hobby.

    • @M5PerfHydros

    Watched and enjoyed your video. Have been enjoying your dynamic "Spielberg" type productions off and on for a while. was thinking of getting into your hobbie for a while, but alass, my schedule currently will not allow. Just a short note to let you know of a term for the type / style of construction that you use. It is called "torssion box". You may already know this, but it is the same "type" of construction used in aircraft, and to a certain extent boat building. Frames , stringers, covered with a "structural" skin. very strong, very light weight, and as you have often noted, one ounce can make the difference going down the back stretch. Any way, really enjoy all your video's Maybe some day I will be able to compete with you. Later Dave K.

Building an ML Boatworks Hydroplane GSX 380V2 electric I'm sure you're familiar with. Looking for speeds around 70, what motor and esc would you recommend. Happy Thanksgiving

    • @M5PerfHydros
      @M5PerfHydros  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the kind words, but I think I'm going to disappoint you... The only electric hydros I work with are scales that require specific motor/batteries under our club rules. These boats are 1/8 scale and probably average in the 62 - 65 mph range, but only because they are limited in prop size as well. You will very easily run 70mph with your GSX!!
