I made my way to the Tri-Cities to watch the Columbia Cup for my Birthday and ✔️it off my bucket list. What a treat to see these amazing mini’s race around the course. I got some great video too!
I have a factory set of the Miller u-1 decal sheet form a vintage kit that was half built and the other half missing sadly. Still want to build one. One day. But up here in MN we don't have any racing.
You mention about building a boat over the winter, I take it you mean fully built, paint an all! Back when I raced for many many years in APBA and the pro division USTS most of the times an order fir a new boat goes in the year before, and your lucky enough for it to be done by next year, showing up to the 1st race of the year, you spend all day rigging it just to make it in the water before testing ends. No paint, just West, and an X on it for the season, so the ML kneeler I'm building as in true alky fashion has to run this summer with an X and West... lol
The only bad thing on your clips Scott is that they end. Keep up the good work. Can you explain in more depth the actual measurements of the boats in the different classes and the names of the equipment people use like ESC and motor names
Grew up in RC Unlimited Circles in the NW. Really sad the see the lack of craftsmanship that once existed. Good to see David still has the Pack going.. About spit out my drink when I saw that.
Man I have the U-1 Miss Budweiser 1/10 scale boat hanging on my wall and I am also looking into who built these hulls👍Mine has a Dynamite nitro from factory and hull plate number inside!
A couple guys tried gyros a while back, but the response just wasn't quick enough to do any good. Very few even have manually adjustable canards anymore now too. Just not needed once you find the right spot.
Killer videos! What is the club's top speed for a gasser and for nitro? I love the nitro days flying and I get it, but you cannot beat the instant torque and speed of electric. Whenever I see gasser boats running, they look slow. Tuned nitros look faster so Im curious what speeds you are running.
Boats in racing videos often appear to be going slow, mostly because they are! After about one lap the order is usually sorted and most everyone is just trying to survive to the end. When running balls-out (technical term) our nitros and gassers are pretty much identical in speed, with fast boats running in the mid 60's

Hey Scott, As always great Vid. Have you thought about a Full cut from scratch (Your Planz) Large scale Gas build from start to Finnish?. Your current Videos are amazing, YEAS !.. But there is some gaps that I am sure some of newb's would benefit from 4 SURE.... DIVE DEEP MISS US or Pay n Pack

I always wondered why or if they make big glow plugs for gas engines. And run a gaser on nitro
Why not? It's not legal for most racing series, but I'm sure it could be done!

At. 24:24 I see a servo for the canard flap. They are manually controlled or they use gyros?
