I do think it should've gotten a season 4 but the show not being in line with canon and sometimes contradicting it would get confusing for people playing the games after or watching the show after without looking up if it were considered canon.

I thought it was good! The premise felt very similar to Monsters University (the prequel to Monsters Inc. where Mike and Sully were college students learning to become scarers), and IMO the show gave a very interesting depiction of what the Skylanders were like when they were younger, and still learning to unlock their full potential and become the legendary heroes we know them as in the games!
Even though I have a soft spot for the show, there are a few gripes I have with the series: Spyro (in his normal form) is usually annoying, at least for most of season 1. There's wasted potential when it comes to certain plot lines in the show. E.g. How about Spyro and Cynder swap their roles of mentor and student? The 'new' characters are surprisingly ignored most of the time and are not used to their fullest potential. However, I will note that the animation is nice, some of the character designs look better than their game counterparts and there was some interesting reinterpretations of characters that we had previously seen. Thankfully, the show ended on a decent note while leaving it open for a new season or short series. Hopefully, one day, we could get some answers about the cancelled 4th season. Maybe even get a picture of Spyro's parents?
Exactly my opinion, but I'd advocate for Spyro's character in the manner that he's fairly consistent throughout the entire show. A couple arcs here and there, just like with every other centralized character.
The revelation this show drops that Eon is Kaos' father this entire time is massive. It's a shame that we never got a 7th game where they would delve more into the crossover lore with the show, and maybe in that game we could've gotten it confirmed in the main canon that he has been his father there too.
I liked the series. I actually found out about on accident, and it was the greatest thing I ever discovered. Sure, it did have its flaws, but that’s what I thought made it so charming. The characters were all fun and interesting (Pop Fizz is still my favorite in both the games and the series), the storyline (while it did have room to improve) was creative, and I liked the fact that the creators fleshed out both the heroes and villains. And maybe with the right minds, creativity, and those who still hold both the games and series close to their hearts, they could remake it into something great!
The first 2 seasons, while flawed, are actually really good, the third season is not bad but have some REALLY stupid moments. I think this show deserves a B, is not a amazing show, specially compare to other Netflix shows like Black Borjaman, Carmen Sandiego or Castelvania just to give some exemples, but overall is good.
I thought the last scene with Eon and Spyro was meant to be a hint towards the actual Spyro games, Eon shows Spyro where more Dragons are and that connects to the Spyro games
The show was made for kids in the end, but the first time I’d watched it, I hadn’t played giants,swap force, trap team, Superchargers, or imaginators so I would MAYBE watch it again

I know I sounded pretty harsh in my last review with you trying to make Skylanders Academy an Edgy Dark Fantasy like Berserk 'RIP Muira!' but honestly while I have issues with making Spyro too scary and making Cynder be depressed from losing Malefor when she never actually truly liked him, it was still better than the standard Fanfiction or fantasy story in general. Your writing reminded me allot of my odler sister's writing who to wrote a Berserk-like Dark Fantasy story that while good had several grammar issues and other few things wrong with the plot. Also don't worry about being too edgy. The long Spyro Fanfic I'm slowly working on that's heavily influenced by Creepy Pasta and Stephen King is much edgier than yours! At least from little I read of your story. Dose it get lighter in places or is it a steady climb of dark times in Skylands?
@@YamiSpyroX its a bit steady. It dips into darker parts like death and near death stuff a fair bit. But for the most part it does have a balance between light and dark moments. I do plan on going back and maybe adding stuff in or fixing stuff. Hopefully by the time you get round to reading the other stories I will have already done it so you can see a better more improved version for your first read maybe.

My readers were down and a few people were beggining to tell me that it felt like I should have ended earlier and not kept going for so long. I felt they teased that in the games but just never got around to adding it to the story. Here, we got to see the reveals and even if in a separate timeline to the games, I like to think that it's also the same family situation there too.
No disrespect to the original voice actor for Glumshanks, but hearing Norm Macdonald basically play himself throughout this series was wonderful. Even if I wasn't big into the games, his presence would have been more than enough.
The 2nd Best Video Game cartoon ever! I say 2nd cause Castelvania's final season really, really blew me away. Also If you thought Spyro destroying his dark half was dark how about the fact that Spyro while possessed nearly murdered Stealth elf! Plus Spyro at S2's ending going rogue due to his belief that the man who raised him potentially murdered his entire family+his species was hella' heavy. Can't tell you how shocked I initially was to see the birth of Evil Spyro.

Dark Spyro takes up too long on Season 3 as he only just drags on and overstayed his presence until near the end of the season that Spyro and Dark Spyro becomes separate entities.
I think they really should have put more of a Skylanders feel to the show, I think gill grunt, tree rex, wash buckler, chop chop, I think maybe Fire kraken, drobot, and eye brawl would have been so cool in the show
the evil spyro twist is the only thing that made it worthwhile. i skipped season1 and 2 for it and have no regrets because they are mroe of anthology style episodes rather than season 3
The Legend of Korra Book 1, 3 and 4 > Skylanders Academy > The Legend of Korra Book 2 I think I would have liked Skylanders Academy if it had Count Moneybone and Captain Frightbeard as major villains other than Kaos and Doom Raiders, like at least as main villains for one or two episodes. Strykore is like Skylanders Academy counterpart of Hektore.

Sometimes season 3 was kinda stupid because they literally made King Pen in the first episode blindfolded for no reason. It is ridiculous. It was literally there for plot so that Kaos and Spyro can kidnap him.
It’s pretty self aware and funny I just laughed at when eon and kaos where fighting eon says “over my badly beaten unconscious battered but clearly alive body” cause they can’t say dead it’s definitely more catered for adults to so both can enjoy with more jokes u wouldn’t understand if u were a kid but laugh as as an adult wish the games were like this I’m only a few episodes in to form a final opinion
They made the show after skylanders so the comunity would been kept alive. If the amount of watchers kept rising and shit it would give them a chanse to make some cash. But since the show got less watxhers each season. They were like fair enough no more new skylanders stuff in the future. Well atleast thats my theory but it does make sence if you ask me
What never made sense about this show is how it treated Spyro. How does a skylander with halitosis qualified but Spyro who's a literal dragon didn't? They even made Spyro get beaten by Chompy mage. Is this some kind of joke? This show constantly makes fun of the classic Video Game dragon character everone grew up with and loved, yet if it wasn't for him, no one would even buy the game, they had to use Spyro for marketing, obviously anyone would buy the game if he's in it.
I think if you watch this like 2 times then rewatch it again, don't go in with a critical mindset, acknowledge it's aimed for kids and made to promote the Skylanders toys, I think it's very enjoyable
I think it was pretty good except for the intro. The intro was so generic I hated it! In my opinion they should of tried to go for something like the mha intros. What I mean by that is that they should of gone for a more energetic intro that made you feel like you were about to go on another adventure with the skylanders but what we got made me feel like I was about to watch bunked or some other Disney sitcom
It was a great series but personally I wish it'd lasted longer. Growing up, I had 4 out of the other skylander games out there and sometimes I still play the games but now that their kinda dead, it would make sense what else could happen. If they did ended up doing a reboot, it most likely wouldn't end well in my opinion. Otherwise great review to the series.
He was more annoying cuz of his cocky attitude being pushed the limit and him acting more childish when, theoretically speaking, he’s a bit older than classic Spyro. Not saying he can’t be different, I love changes but agreed, he does become tolerable.

They made the show after skylanders so the comunity would been kept alive. If the amount of watchers kept rising and shit it would give them a chanse to make some cash. But since the show got less watxhers each season. They were like fair enough no more new skylanders stuff in the future. Well atleast thats my theory but it does make sence if you ask me

I always thought the show was great. Some of my favorite episodes are Space Invaders, Anger Mismanagement, and Pop Rocks.

What never made sense about this show is how it treated Spyro. How does a skylander with halitosis qualified but Spyro who's a literal dragon didn't? They even made Spyro get beaten by Chompy mage. Is this some kind of joke? This show constantly makes fun of the classic Video Game dragon character everone grew up with and loved, yet if it wasn't for him, no one would even buy the game, they had to use Spyro for marketing, obviously anyone would buy the game if he's in it.

Season 2 used to be my favorite but with your comments on it, I am kind of rethinking my opinion. A lot of the episodes were for naught.
I think if you watch this like 2 times then rewatch it again, don't go in with a critical mindset, acknowledge it's aimed for kids and made to promote the Skylanders toys, I think it's very enjoyable
I think it was pretty good except for the intro. The intro was so generic I hated it! In my opinion they should of tried to go for something like the mha intros. What I mean by that is that they should of gone for a more energetic intro that made you feel like you were about to go on another adventure with the skylanders but what we got made me feel like I was about to watch bunked or some other Disney sitcom

It was a great series but personally I wish it'd lasted longer. Growing up, I had 4 out of the other skylander games out there and sometimes I still play the games but now that their kinda dead, it would make sense what else could happen. If they did ended up doing a reboot, it most likely wouldn't end well in my opinion. Otherwise great review to the series.

Spyro was just so annoying, but finally in season 3 he became tolerable and then it ends.
He was more annoying cuz of his cocky attitude being pushed the limit and him acting more childish when, theoretically speaking, he’s a bit older than classic Spyro. Not saying he can’t be different, I love changes but agreed, he does become tolerable.
