Benin, Togo, rwanda, namibia and botswana is the hope of Africa, the rest should be inspired bit they too busy fighting other africans.. how sad, what the rest of africa needs is a whole new education.
@carolweidig4689 What I mean is they are building a lot of buildings and infrastructure that are not needed and no one can afford. That means that after it is constructed (no doubt by Chinese workers with loans obtained from China, which will have to be paid back to China no matter what) it is all going to either not be used or fall into disrepair because the people there can't afford to do maintain it. These are classic white elephants. Building a bunch of relatively expensive housing for a population that is dirt poor and can not afford to live there is stupid. What about jobs? You build JOBS first, and the rest later, not the other way around. And no, maintaining the housing and infrastructure is NOT a source for jobs because those things do not create money. The money to pay for it all has to come from some sort of productivity, and all these projects have none. Benin's long term plan appears to be based on the assumption that other countries are going to give them free money so all their people can enjoy the good life, and things don't work that way. All that is going to happen is that they will have a bunch of houses no one can afford, a bunch of roads going nowhere and a mountain of debt. And what then? Go back to the IMF for another bailout for the nth time?
@@Tugela60 Roads, highways, rail, industrial zones. Infrastructure makes an economy move. As a result this has helped with Benin's rapid industrialization. One of these projects being GDIZ Benin industrial zone. That's what helped get the wheels moving on "Made in Benin" and one of their products being cashews.
