Ughh you know what I love about quarantine?!?! Is the normalcy of artists and celebrities wearing the clothes THEY CHOSE to an interview! Not some outfit that a stylist put together
Hopefully that continues. I like seeing the "real person" like seeing women in hoodies and men wearing what they choose instead some random suit. I feel like lowkey what you choose to wear kinda shows your personality.
I love Trevor's hair grown out like that. He's so sexy.

@@Zariel_999 No. Normalcy is not a real word. Normality is the antonym of abnormality. One doesn't say they have an abnormalcy.
People very commonly use normalcy incorrectly in the US, but never in Britain for example.
It all goes back to Harding's Pes. campaign slogan "return to normalcy," so the incorrect term became common in America.

Ramy is genuinely a phenomenal show. The relatability and realness transcends across the screen and i love it
even though i'm black, i was raised muslim in nj and i love the show too. the humaness and the complexity highlighted is wonderful, but i cant get into the incest stuff.

I had never even heard of Ramy until today, but I will be giving the show a chance. It will be getting that chance partly because I like learning about different cultures and ways of life, but also because of the care he shows for the disability community. Both disability and non-Christian religions are so underrepresented in entertainment that it’s nice to see some advocacy for a different point of view.

i'm so here for them both being fans of each other. You can see the genuine interest from Trevor as a fan of the show and the respect between both. Love them both
They're both africans. I'm sure Trevor feels the same with all Africans. His body language and some subtle clicks of his and some expressions are ancient in Africa and cannot escape the eyes of those who are born there

"Ramy" is a genuinely excellent show.
I just binge watched the first two seasons last weekend. Watching them back-to-back, you can see it getting better with every episode. The struggles and diverse views are getting very real by the second season. Can't wait for the 3rd season.

I loved the second season, as they move to meet his sister, his mother, his father and uncle, and how they are all such different people.
Stereo types are destroyed when everyone has their own different voice.

As for Reme description of Cairo, it’s how he, an American, viewed the country. I see it with Americans talking about tokyo and Paris. A,Erica s see what they see, and don’t see other things. And they are visitors, so they don’t see more then the surface.

as a Mexican Muslim, i loved Ramy
the show absolutely leans on other TV like Atlanta, Master of None, even Bojack, and that’s totally fine. it’s incredible to see how these shows take a similar concept and make it their own. i.e. - the Juneteenth episode of Atlanta and when Ramy goes to secure funding for the Community Center
Good interview, Ramy such a great show! After it won an Emmy and I peeped it also stars Mahershala Ali, I watched both seasons during quarantine. Nice to see representation of everyday Muslim folks & their families on TV. I was also glad to see the beautiful MaameYaa Boafo from An African City series also stars in it!
These two men are so handsome, it shines from within them. I didn't realize I wasn't breathing for the first several seconds of this video ... literally took my breath away 😍

@@janderson947 actually, his hair IS growing longer. If he pulls it out, he'll be able to see it longer. (Source: I have REALLY curly/clily hair, and when I started growing it out, it grew round like a 'fro before it started growing down).

As a Muslim man myself, the scope of the show RAMY is sadly very narrow. Other than sex, It barely scratches the surface on what Muslims struggle with daily. It shouldn't be marketed as such either. This show portrays the daily struggles of a single individual, Ramy, and Ramy doesn't represent the rest of the Muslim community.

Perhaps. It still opens a door to relatability, to people who have prejudices. Overall, it's a positive.
I mean they done a couple of episodes of the dad who is the opposite of Ramy.
@@8B8B8B88 It's not positive or negative. it's a personal point of view, it's one life out of millions and it's being marketed as: this is what young Muslim men go through every day. It might be relatable to people who have prejudice, but it still doesn't help them either.

(Horrible) And an episode of the wife, who's sexually frustrated and lacks attention, where she takes up Uber and develops feelings for a married man. It's terrible writing. Plus, these are universal issues, they aren't exclusive to Muslims.

Most native Americans don't try to pronounce Islam or Muslim correctly, even when they know it's wrong. They say Eye-rak and Eye-ran as well.
David Adams French people don’t pronounce American or United States correctly either. It’s just different languages, why we say things differently.

You should go over some of the harmful and dangerous trends that go on social media to help raise awareness like The Blue Whale Challenge, I had no idea it was even a thing before last month and I think it needs to be talked more about, it's harmful and crucial. They say kids are the future but depression is common, especially in young teens.
We don’t hold any stereotypes anymore. Like legit, it’s getting to the point you’ll be proud to endorse false stereotypes so you can have some resemblance of identity.
