The Highland Park Scots were led by dual-threat QB Brennan Storer. The game was televised on ESPNU.

The Gucci Bowl in San Antonio. Took place for decades between the Northside school districts rich school, and northeast side school districts rich school, the first game of the season. I assume it still does happen. I don't even know if both schools are still considered rich schools lol. But they were for a while which is why their classic game is called the Gucci bowl.

I can’t understand for the life of me how UT Longhorns are not at least a top 5 college football program year in year out. It blows my mind🤯. These kids are fantastic
They have shitty recruiters and always grab most D1s from the Austin Houston area and leave DallasFortWorth area to TCU, SMU, OU, OSU or others.
Coaching. They consistently get top talent recruit, but because of coaching and play calling, and at times playing favorites hurt.

@@michaelbelanger3373 Texas teams play Oklahoma teams just about every year. Sometimes TX wins. Sometimes OK wins. Union and Jenks are solid programs, as are a couple others.
I agree I wish the top Texas would take the challenge. Because D’Ville accepted the MD game. Westlake, southlake, and Trinity didn’t want to take on the challenge. To me it doesn’t matter if the school is private or public cuz anybody can get beaten on any day. I mean every school recruits in their own way tbh. But it would be dope to see more Cali vs Texas match ups, and Texas needs to actually travel to Cali this time. It would of been nice to have Westlake play MD last Friday.

There's plenty of that in El Paso. There should be more of it so we don't have schools in Odessa/ midland or Amarillo going to Waco or Brownsville for games.

@@willswope2204 Southlake is better than HP. Look at all the rankings. In 2022, according to Niche, Southlake, is #7 and HP is #14 in top schools in Texas. Southlake Carroll has TWO Elementary schools which were ranked as one of the top 5 elementary schools in the state by GreatSchools. Southlake has no academic disparity based on race and has a 100% graduation rate according to US News.
So Ewers reclassified from 2022 class to 2021 class. What the heck does that mean other than not playing in this game?
He graduated early so that he could compete for the starting job at The Ohio State. Not all that uncommon that elite athletes will reclassify in order to get reps in college during the spring and summer.
