    Hi I have a avh 1550nex I know it uses a wired connection for apple CarPlay but are there any recommendations for a wireless transmitter that I can get , that would act the same as if I did plug it in?

      And also will it still be compatible with steering wheel controls?

      To make your Pioneer AVH-1550NEX work with your steering wheel controls, you'll need a steering wheel control adapter. Many are available. Here is one possibility: maestro.idatalink.com/product/product/product_id/101 Please be sure to install the latest firmware for your Pioneer AVH-1550NEX. You can find it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/SiriusXM/AVH-1550NEX#downloads Pioneer makes many receivers that work with wireless Apple CarPlay. Please consider Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX here: th-cam.com/video/B2TTfJUD-es/w-d-xo.html for help with a wireless transmitter, please contact the product manufacturer. Apple CarPlay works on the Pioneer AVH-1550NEX with a wired connection through USB. You can learn more about it here: th-cam.com/video/_P3_aPDLK2E/w-d-xo.html The AVH-1550NEX does not work with Wireless Apple CarPlay. I just installed the radio and I like it but I find at times the sound of music or gps speech coming from the phone to be very bright and pitchy. I have eq everything down but I’m still getting A very bright sound from the unit. Loudness is set off and bass boost is only on 1. It crossed over to 125hz but I added bass into the speakers to balance sound so it’s not 100% all high’s with cross over drop off points. Also I notice the unit won’t allow you to crossover into 90HZ like my old pioneer unit. Any suggestions would be appreciated

      Please provide a little more information. What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? Is the system set up in Standard Mode or Network mode? What speakers are you using? Front and rear? Or another setup? Do you have an external amplifier? Or a factory amplifier in the vehicle? Do you have a subwoofer in your system?

      The Pioneer AVH-1300NEX was manufactured back in 2016. Please be sure to install the latest firmware for the AVH-1300NEX. You can find it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/AVH-1300NEX#downloads
      After you install the firmware update, I recommend to do a microprocessor reset. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-1300NEX at the top of the hard key panel beside eject.
      When you say the "Pioneer is pushing the factory bose amp", please be more specific. Are you saying you're using the Pioneer speaker level outputs wired into the bose factory amp? If so, are you using a live level convertor in this connection? Are there EQ or crossover settings on the line level converter? Or are you using the Pioneer RCA outputs to the bose factory amp?
      The Pioneer AVH-1300NEX uses the front speaker outputs and front RCA outputs only for Bluetooth phone calls and voice commands from Apple CarPlay. Music from Bluetooth or through Apple CarPlay is played back from all outputs, front, rear, and subwoofer outs.
      You can set the front HPF crossover much lower than 90Hz and all the down to 25Hz if you want. Please take a look at this How To video from Pioneer for a demonstration: th-cam.com/video/Z86fQryoRVk/w-d-xo.html However, lowering the crossover point on a HPF will not filter out higher frequencies.
      I'm not sure where you are seeing a crossover point that is higher than 90Hz. This makes me wonder if the system is setup in Network mode and you are looking at the LPF for the midrange output. Please check to be sure you are using the front crossover setup in Standard Mode.
      When on the front crossover, It may help to change the slope to 6dB per octave. This will give a slower roll off and fill in more of the lower frequency output on the front speakers.
      As a test, I recommend to switch Sound Mode to Off and be sure to switch the Sound Retriever to Off. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/Z86fQryoRVk/w-d-xo.html

      @@pioneerelectronics Thank you so much, I turned off the sound mode and the sound retriever like you said and all the extremely high frequencies are gone, thank you for solving my issue. I’m going to do the reset next to get the car play up and going. Thank you again

    How much of the wireless capability of CarPlay in recent models is software driven? What impedes a AVIC-8100NEX from providing wireless CarPlay via Bluetooth?

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Software is certainly part of it but, nearly all is hardware. Apple designed Apple CarPlay Wireless to work through WI-FI, not through Bluetooth. Your Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX does not carry a Wi-Fi chipset so Apple CarPlay wireless can't work. Bluetooth is an important part of the connection process for Apple CarPlay. However, when the connection is complete, Bluetooth is not being used. All wireless communication between the phone and in-dash receiver is through Wi-Fi. There are several Pioneer in-dash receiver models with Apple CarPlay wireless capability including Pioneer AVH-W8500NEX seen here: th-cam.com/video/kFgNLXajrXs/w-d-xo.html or the Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX here: th-cam.com/video/-JidsPPVKnA/w-d-xo.html Pioneer also has several large screen format receivers available in spring 2020. Does the paperclip-reset method for microprocessor do anything different than the onscreen menu reset settings option? I'm guessing not. My assumption is the paperclip gives you a way of doing so in case the device will not operate normally but I'd like to know for sure.

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're guessing wrong. The microprocessor reset simply restart the in-dash receiver and clears the microprocessor in the case of strange operation. The System Restore / Restore Settings in the settings menu will erase many of the receiver's settings such as clock, calendar, audio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi etc... Many if not all data stored in the system will be reset to factory defaults. It's a good idea to use the restore settings option if you want to clear the data from the receiver and start over. I have a avh-w4500, when I had my iPhone XS Max It would automatically connect to wireless apple carplay, I recently got a iPhone 13 pro max and I have to manually connect it each time I start the truck, how would I go about deleting the old phone and getting my new one to automatically connect

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There could be a number of different issues to correct. I recommend to go through the list of items below, one or more should get you going again.
      On the old phone:
      1. delete the Pioneer receiver from the phone's Bluetooth memory.
      2. go into Apple CarPlay on the phone and delete any reference to the Pioneer receiver.
      3. turn the old phone off for now.
      On the new phone:
      1. delete the Pioneer receiver from the phone's Bluetooth memory.
      2. go into Apple CarPlay on the phone and delete any reference to the Pioneer receiver.
      3. Restart the new phone.
      On the Pioneer receiver:
      1. delete all phones from the receiver's Bluetooth Memory. You can see this on a similar receiver in a video from Pioneer here: th-cam.com/video/zZRA8sNz6gs/w-d-xo.html
      2. Press the receiver's microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX on the hard key panel to the far right beside eject.
      3. Do a full Restore Settings on the receiver. With the vehicle safely parked and the parking brake engaged, touch the gears>toolbox> and scroll down to Restore Settings>All Settings You can see this on a similar receiver in a video from Pioneer here: th-cam.com/video/OMJ5yJ6157g/w-d-xo.html
      Once the receiver restarts go through the receiver's initial setup process.
      Next, begin the wireless Apple CarPlay pairing process from the beginning as shown in this video: th-cam.com/video/MkWffv3vB6Q/w-d-xo.html There are multiple ways to setup Apple CarPlay wireless. Please watch the full video and choose the one that will work best for you.

      Please let me help. What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? You can usually find the model number near one of the corners of the face of the in-dash receiver. It should start with the letters AVH, or AVIC, or MVH. If the Bluetooth settings are grayed out, you need to engage the vehicle's parking brake in an ON-OFF-ON operation. If you engage the parking brake and still can't access the Bluetooth settings, the vehicle may have an incorrect connection to the receiver's Green Parking Brake Wire. I use a mobile hotspot in my car for my phone connectivity. Will the Wireless CarPlay basically disable my connection to the hotspot? If so, does this unit have a SIM card slot to act as a wireless hotspot?

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The short answer is yes. In most cases, a phone can only be connected to one WI-FI device at a time. With Apple CarPlay wireless, the phone will be connected to the in-dash receiver through WI-FI and all data will operate through the phone's "Cell phone data" connection. The in-dash receive does not have a SIM card and does not provide any data. In order to use Apple CarPlay and still use your mobile hotspot, I recommend the wired version of Apple CarPlay. It's identical to Apple CarPlay wireless and it has the benefit of charging the phone while in use. Deckerd Otto that’s what I thought. I was hoping the CarPlay wireless would work using just Bluetooth when WiFi wasn’t connected.
      Speaking of charging, isn’t wireless CarPlay really a huge drain on battery? Especially when using heavy GPS chip dependent app like Waze? Should one even bother with wireless?
      So in having a data plan scenario (instead of mobile hotspot), I am still having a dilemma on whether to go with wired or wireless CarPlay unit.
      I can see an advantage of wireless CarPlay, in it working with wireless charging to eliminate the connecting wires step - you just drop and go. I was also thinking about future-proofing - a real possibility that Apple completely drops a charging port in favor of going totally wire free.
      On the other hand, if I am using wired charging and am charging through the units’USB port, it can get annoying the phone asking each time whether to connect wired or wirelessly (unless I use 12v lighter charger).

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wireless Apple CarPlay does not need to use the phone's GPS chip. The in-dash receiver has a GPS antenna and receiver. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/Dg3LTbgd__k/w-d-xo.html CarPlay uses GPS data provided by the vehicle if possible because it's typically more accurate than what the phone can provide. Carplay does drain the battery but, not at an extremely heavy rate, especially if you have the phone screen switched off.
      If your phone has a data plan, you don't need to choose between wireless or wired. You can use the wireless connection when you want, and when the phone battery starts to get low you can plug it into the in-dash receiver through USB Port 1 and the phone will automatically switch to the wired version of CarPlay. There is no difference in operation for the user. You can see this work here: th-cam.com/video/MkWffv3vB6Q/w-d-xo.html Once the setup process in complete, the in-dash receiver and phone will automatically make a wireless connection and start Apple CarPlay each time you start the vehicle. This process can be defeated in the settings menu if you want. I recommend to do a number of different things. Any one of them may correct the issue. 1. If the old phone is still around, on the old phone, delete the in-dash receiver from the phone's Bluetooth memory, and Delete the in-dash receiver from the old phone's CarPlay list of vehicles. 2. Please be sure to update your Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX to the latest firmware. You can find it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/AVH-W4400NEX#downloads 3. On the in-dash receiver, delete all phones from the receiver's Bluetooth Memory. You can see this here: th-cam.com/video/zZRA8sNz6gs/w-d-xo.html 5. On the new phone. Delete the in-dash receiver from the phone's Bluetooth Memory, and delete the in-dash receiver from the phone's CarPlay list of vehicles. Important > Restart the new phone. 6. Press the in-dash receiver's microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX on the hard key panel to the far right. 7. On the in-dash receiver, make sure Auto Connect and Visibility for Bluetooth are on. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/zZRA8sNz6gs/w-d-xo.html Even though the Apple CarPlay connection is a Wi-Fi connection, the first step in the CarPlay connection process each time you start the vehicle is Bluetooth. 8. This is a very unique issue. Doing a Restore All Settings on the in-dash receiver will usually clear all previous devices that have been connected to the receiver. You can see Restore Settings on a similar receiver here: th-cam.com/video/OMJ5yJ6157g/w-d-xo.html Please clarify: Are you saying you can not delete the old phone from the in-dash receivers Bluetooth Memory? You can check this in the Bluetooth Settings > Connection Menu. If you see the old phone, touch the trash can to delete it.
      If any other BT devices are in the vehicle turn them off or remove from the vehicle completely including the old phone. (BT ear buds, BT watches, or any other electronic BT devices)
      Depending on the vehicle, if it had OEM built in BT with the factory radio, even though the OEM radio was removed there could still be a hideaway OEM BT module left in the vehicle that was previously paired with the older phone. If so, that BT module may need to get disconnected or the fuse pulled to disable it.
      After you have connected the new phone to Apple CarPlay, When you re-start the vehicle, with the new phone in the vehicle and the new phone's Bluetooth window open, and the old phone turned off or in a distant location, go to the receiver's home screen. One the receiver's home screen, touch the phone icon at the bottom left. This will search for devices to connect with CarPlay. You can see this here: th-cam.com/video/MkWffv3vB6Q/w-d-xo.html You should be able to find your new phone and connect.
      Are you using an iDatalink Maestro RR module in the vehicle? If so, a few suggestions: If so, we may need to tell Maestro in the OEM SETTINGS of the AVH-W4400NEX that we are using the Pioneer BT mic, not the OEM mic. Maestro may let them delete BT phone info as well . I think in Maestro you can restore the maestro module but you do not lose the Maestro programing for the vehicle and AVH-W4400NEX radio its in.
      Can also restore the entire radio and this usually delete all stored phones unless maestro installed or OEM BT module is still in vehicle.

    PLEASE HELP ME! I have a DMH-WT8600NEX and am having issues with it. I have updated it to the most recent firmware. Where can I get support for this? Everytime I start my truck is tries to do an update or something and asks me to connect " a USB mass storage device with audio update file". Also I use Apple Carplay and everytime I start my truck up I have to disconnect my phone in the connection settings and reconnect it or else it won't play music. With these 2 problems it takes me up to 5 minutes sometimes to get it setup and ready to play music every time I start my truck, I have to wait for the usb mass storage message thing to play which also causes a little pop up that doesn't go away until the message is over. And I also can't go into connection settings while driving so I have to wait parked until I go through this whole process. It's quite frustrating.

      Please supply some additional information. What is the vehicle? Make, model, and year? Please reply with the exact message as it appears on the receiver screen. Does the message appear shortly after starting the vehicle, or when you change sources, or is there some other type of trigger for this event? Are you using a "flush mount" or other type of USB connection to the back of the receiver? Or are you using the USB extension cable that was packaged with the receiver? Are you using Maestro RR or Metra Axxess in this installation? For Apple CarPlay, are you using a wired connection? Or a wireless connection? What is the phone? What version of iOS?

      Please allow me to make sure I understand your question. You did not mention what model number of Pioneer in-dash receiver you have. From your question, I think you have a Pioneer in-dash receiver with a Wireless connection to Apple CarPlay. And you have at least 2 iPhones that have been set up with the in-dash receiver to work with Apple CarPlay. You have 2 iPhones in the vehicle, and you want to freely switch between the two phones for Apple CarPlay. If that's the question, the answer is very easy. Start the vehicle, and allow a few seconds for the the in-dash receiver to get up and running and automatically connect to one of the two phone. (Please note, when the vehicle was previously shut down, if the in-dash receiver was on a source other than Apple CarPlay, for example AM/FM Radio, it will return to that source and not to CarPlay). By pressing the Home Button hard key on the in-dash receiver you can see what phone is currently connected the in-dash receiver for Apple CarPlay on the bottom left of the screen. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/_P3_aPDLK2E/w-d-xo.html Touch the named connected phone button on the touch panel Home Screen. Not the CarPlay button. At the bottom left of the in-dash receiver touch screen is a button with two arrows pointing to and from a phone. Touch that button and the list of available carplay phones will appear. Touch the phone you would like to be the active CapPlay phone. This will also work if you have one of the iPhones plugged into USB Port 1 on the Pioneer in-dash receiver. Here is a video for connecting Android phones to compatible Pioneer in-dash receivers with a wireless connection: th-cam.com/video/yoPE7eF84-0/w-d-xo.html It's possible your Motorole G7 will not connect with the normal operation. If that's the case, you may need to take these setps: There is no trouble with the Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX. It's operating normally. The reason it won't connect wireless for Android Auto is because Motorola has not enabled Android Auto Wireless on your phone. If Motorola has not enabled Android Auto Wireless on your phone you may want to try this: mspoweruser.com/tutorial-how-to-setup-wireless-android-auto-on-non-google-phones/ If you are thinking, I'll return this thing to the store and get another brand that will work with my phone, please do some research before you do it. You'll find that your phone won't connect to any brand of in-dash receiver for Wireless Android Auto at this time. It's the phone, not the in-dash receiver. The other option is to use Android Auto with a wired connection through USB Port 2. Don't use USB Port 1, it will not work for Android Auto. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/kpKYks-17gM/w-d-xo.html When Motorola enables Wireless, you'll be able to use it. Hello. Ive had my w4400nex for a little over a year now, and love it, usually works perfectly and it usually syncs with my iPhone every time by it self, however after I upgraded to the 11 pro max, (from the xs max) The radio wont automatically (wirelessly) hook up to my phone anymore, I have to go in the Bluetooth and and manually hook it up every time I start my truck. I did a hard reset of my iPhone, I Reset the settings of the w4400nex radio, and for some reason, when I click on the phone link at the bottom left corner, you know the place where it shows the list of phones, well for some reason it keeps showing my old phone, no matter if its with me or if im far away from my house, it still shows the old phone in the list.
    Is there a bug in ios 13, or something with the new iPhone 11 pro max?
    Im usually really tech savy and can usually figure out these type things, but this has me boggled lol
    Any help would be awesome.

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your system should work with iOS 13 and iPhone 11 pro max. I recommend a few different things. First, please install the latest firmware for your Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX. You can find it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/AVH-W4400NEX#downloads You did not mention this in the your question, but I think we are talking about Apple CarPlay with a wireless connection. I recommend to do these things after you have installed the latest firmware. Press the in-dash receiver microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX on the hard key panel at the far right. Next: turn the old phone off. Next: delete all phones from the in-dash receiver's Bluetooth memory. Delete them all. You can see how to do that on a similar in-dash receiver here: th-cam.com/video/zZRA8sNz6gs/w-d-xo.html At some point, when the vehicle is off, delete the in-dash receiver from the old phone's Bluetooth memory and it's CarPlay memory. Next: do a System Restore on the in-dash receiver. This will reset all of the in-dash receiver's settings. Pressing the microprocessor reset button does not do this. You can see how to do a System Restore in this video: th-cam.com/video/PeH_h8UHzBw/w-d-xo.html Next: delete the in-dash receiver from the new phone's Bluetooth memory. On the new phone, go to the CarPlay settings and delete any cars that have been previously connected through CarPlay. You want it to seem as though the new phone and the in-dash receiver have not seen each other in the past. Please be sure the new phone is not connected to any other Bluetooth device like a headset or portable speaker. This can block the in-dash receiver from connecting. Now begin the Apple CarPlay Wireless setup from the beginning as shown in the video above. I find it easiest to simply plug the phone into the receiver through USB Port 1. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/MkWffv3vB6Q/w-d-xo.html The other Apple CarPlay wireless connection options will work too. • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The setup process for Apple CarPlay wireless is a one time thing. From that point forward, the phone and the in-dash receiver should find one another automatically and connect Apple CarPlay. This does not necessarily mean Apple CarPlay wireless will display on the screen every time you start your vehicle. For example, if you had the HD radio source displayed on the screen when you switched the vehicle off, the in-dash receiver will return to the HD Radio source when you start the vehicle again. This is normal operation. Pressing the display button will change between Apple CarPlay and the Pioneer source screen. The Pioneer AVH-Z9250BT uses the GPS antenna for both Android Auto wireless and Apple CarPlay wireless in regions where these services are available. Phones that are capable of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay have built in GPS receivers, however GPS data provided by the vehicle is recommended for more accurate tracking of the vehicles motion. In addition, this in-dash receiver is capable of a wireless connection for Android Auto and CarPlay. That means it's very possible the phone may be in a hand bag, or in a pocket while driving, and will not receive a consistent GPS signal. If you are relying on the phone for GPS you'll be lost. You need the consistent GPS signal provided by the in-dash receiver and it does not matter where you have the phone or if the phone can receive GPS. Next, take a look at the CarPlay settings in the phone when the phone is not connected to the in-dash receiver. If possible, delete the in-dash receiver, or vehicle, from the phone's CarPlay memory. Next, and this is very important. Please restart your phone. Next, delete all phones from the receiver's Bluetooth memory. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/zZRA8sNz6gs/w-d-xo.html Next, and this is very important, I recommend to press the receiver's microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the receiver's microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX on the hard key panel to the far right beside the eject button. And next do a System Restore on the receiver. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/OMJ5yJ6157g/w-d-xo.html After the microprocessor reset and System Restore, start the CarPlay set up process as shown in this video: th-cam.com/video/MkWffv3vB6Q/w-d-xo.html Please be sure no other phones are connected to the in-dash receiver before starting the CarPlay setup process. • @deckerdotto6035

      The apps that appear on Apple CarPlay must be designed by the app developer and approved by Apple to work on CarPlay. When the sound cloud app is developed to work and, approved by Apple for CarPlay it will appear on the CarPlay screen. Until that time, I recommend using the Bluetooth Audio Source, or the iPod Source on the in dash receiver to listen to the Soundcloud app. You can find more videos about the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX here: th-cam.com/video/-bF3uzzaT30/w-d-xo.html

      What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver?
      If your clock and radio stations, Bluetooth settings reset each time you start your vehicle, the in-dash receiver may have an improper connection for the Yellow Wire. The Yellow Wire must have constant power from the vehicle. This means if the vehicle is switched on or switched off, the yellow wire should measure at ~12 volts. The Red Wire is for accessory. You can view the red wire as the receiver’s on/off switch. The red wire should measure ~ 12 volts only when the vehicle is switched on.
      ---Do not connect the Red Wire and Yellow Wire together. ---
      Please take a look at this video for more information on wiring your Pioneer in-dash receiver: th-cam.com/video/-bF3uzzaT30/w-d-xo.html

I also can get it to connect wirelessly sometimes using the bluetooth method shown here but then as soon as the car is shut off and turned back on it doesn't connect. The clock and radio stations all function as normal. The unit it worked fine with my iPhone X that I had for years and seems to not want to work with the new iPhone 14 I just upgraded to.

      @pioneerelectronics  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dats_Mark It sounds like you may not be making the initial Bluetooth Connection from the phone to the in-dash receiver, that allows Apple CarPlay wireless to complete it's connection. Please be sure your phone is not connected to another Bluetooth device like a headset or portable speaker. This can block the in-dash receiver from connecting.
      The Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX should work with your iPhone 14 for wireless CarPlay. Please follow a few steps to get up and running.
      Please be sure you have the latest firmware for your Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX. You can find it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/AVH-W4400NEX#downloads
      Please be sure to have the latest version of iOS16.xx (.03 at the time of this note) installed on the phone. The latest version corrected several issues with CarPlay operation.
      Super important > Please do a soft restart on the phone. To complete a soft reboot on most newer Apple iPhones - bump the Volume up , bump the Volume down then push and hold on the right side power button of the phone till an Apple icon appears, (this takes a while) then let off the power button. Do not slide to power the phone off as this simply turns off the iPhone and restores nothing.
      I recommend to follow these steps to get things operating normally again.
      1. Press the receiver's microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX on the hard key panel to the far right beside eject.
      2.Delete all phones from the in-dash receiver's Bluetooth Memory. You can see this demonstrated on a similar receiver in this How To video from Pioneer: th-cam.com/video/zZRA8sNz6gs/w-d-xo.html
      3. Next, delete the in-dash receiver from the phone's Bluetooth memory.
      4. If possible, go into Apple CarPlay on the phone (settings>carplay) and delete any mention of this vehicle or this phone.
      5. Restart the vehicle.
      6. Restart the phone.
      7. Be sure the phone is not connected to any other Bluetooth devices such as a headset or a portable speaker. This can block the in-dash receiver from connecting.
      8. Begin the Apple CarPlay pairing process from the beginning. If you choose to plug the phone in through USB for setup, please watch the phone and be sure to allow the use of Wireless Carplay. If you deny this it will not work wireless. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/MkWffv3vB6Q/w-d-xo.html

      @@pioneerelectronics Thank You for the detailed instructions. The phone iOS is updated and I've done the firmware update, but after running the version still says 1.00, uncertain why that would be when running the update it said it was going from 1.00 to 1.02. I soft rebooted my iphone as you instructed and deleted all the bluetooth connections from the receiver and from carplay and bluetooth on my phone related to the receiver and restarted the phone and vehicle. With no other bluetooth devices connected (including my apple watch) Plugged in the iphone and it asked to allow wireless carplay, clicked yes and it will maintain connection wirelessly after unplugging, unfortunately it seems upon restarting the vehicle it does not auto-connect. I have to click bluetooth on the receiver and select the iphone, then open my iphone and manually connect to the receiver wifi (auto-join is selected but obviously not connecting) and navigate to carplay on the iphone then press the search icon on the receiver and it will finally connect to wireless carplay. But really doing all that pretty much defeats the purpose of wireless carplay. I'll try running these steps over again. Please advise if any other options are available.

    Fuck me ...... So I bought Pioneer AVH-Z9200 DAB which the shop said I could wire positive to both red power and yellow memory wire. Ok so after day turn stereo off by middle power button and go in my place. Morning I try to turn stereo on and guess what. NOTHING. so I pull the fuse and five minutes later put it back in. The stereo turns on. So now the fitter in the company says I should not wire positive to the red wire unless its switched. Because the power button on the stereo being on off with the well known on off symbol does not actually turn it all off. So listening I find this to be true. Behind the scenes the stereo is still making noises. Great so the boss of the company gave me shit advice. I now have a fused switch beside the stereo which I switch after turning the stereo off. It turns off the power to the red wire. WHATS THAT THOUGH. SOME CRAZY STUPID SYSTEM DONT YOU AGREE. The power button does not turn off the power.
    The only thing I see with this video which is also bullshit is the fact that after wireless CarPlay has connected, you dont see the green symbol without having to press that button lower left of screen.
    Do like this video though.
