I love it! It takes me back to my childhood when my Lithuanian dad danced around the house singing Occhi Chorneye to us in Russian. He was an amazing baritone fluent in nine languages. I also had to learn it in accordeon lessons, but never got that good.
Down to the core of the human soul . I'm no a gypsy but I feel the sadness , the euphoria , the kindness , the struggle , the immense passion , the fire , the solitude , the need of the creation , and the obvious calm and aggressiveness of the human spirit . Ciao
There's so much in this song that all the performers find something special for themrselves and interprit it in their own way. I have not expected to find so many and so much different variations: instruments, styles, ganres, voices. It's astonishing how one melody can capture so many hearts.
Sergey, My father was a professiona musician/accordionist and he played Occhi Chorni and many other songs from around the world of accordion. Much like saxophone/classical flute/ trumpet keys, a piano pedal and string slide noise, the clicking of the mechanism and of the pads closing on the reed portals brings such intimacy to the accordion. I love how the accordion is a self-sufficient instrument, being its own accompaniment and not requiring anything but air and strength from it's user. It's an instrument I love to play and listen to. I'm not jealous of accordionists better than me, I admire and respect them for their own musical fingerprint, skill and talent.
Dude, thank you for pointing it out. I wasn't sure what that noise was at first. I thought it was a problem with the recording. Now I realize what I'm hearing.
