I love it! It takes me back to my childhood when my Lithuanian dad danced around the house singing Occhi Chorneye to us in Russian. He was an amazing baritone fluent in nine languages. I also had to learn it in accordeon lessons, but never got that good.

Much like saxophone/classical flute/ trumpet keys, a piano pedal and string slide noise, the clicking of the mechanism and of the pads closing on the reed portals brings such intimacy to the accordion. I love how the accordion is a self-sufficient instrument, being its own accompaniment and not requiring anything but air and strength from it's user. It's an instrument I love to play and listen to. I'm not jealous of accordionists better than me, I admire and respect them for their own musical fingerprint, skill and talent.

I have played a balalaika since I was 5 years old. Actually the Domra and Piccalo, The smaller instruments of the balalaika family. Was in an orchestra in Bridgeport, Ct., In the Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church. Under Prof. Luke Bakoota. Love the music!!!!! My dad played Base!
