INSTALLING 5/8", T1-11 PLYWOOD ON A PATIO ROOF - TIME LAPSE, HOW-TO

In this video we're installing 5/8, t1-11 plywood on a patio roof. We install the t1-11 face down so when you look up from underneath, it resembles tongue & groove and makes for a nicer finished product. We use 2 3/8 ring shanked nails. How does the roofer keep the roofing nails from punching through the beautiful T1-11 surface on the underside?
