In this video, I'll be showing the month by month progress of the cut flower garden for 2020 - including some of the cut flower arrangements that we made this year. Thank you for watching.
Thanks for visiting the Freshcutky organic gardening channel. In the garden, I will answer some of the most common "gardening for beginners" type questions I get, including growing flowers from seed. Growing greens, growing flowers, and planting beautiful organic food is something I'm really passionate about. Thank you for joining me as I learn to grow flowers, cut flowers, vegetables, and much more. Freshcutky youtube channel and related media are for entertainment purposes only.

Many ornamental flowers and cut flowers are TOXIC. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area.
    ------------------------
    What is "@freshcutky"?
@freshcutky documents the pursuit of my goal of one day owning my own cut flower farm. Along the way, you'll see random projects, cooking, and of course - growing stuff. I'm not an expert, and would never claim to be. There's always more to learn - this is my journey. The purpose of my blog, and other social media accounts (including TH-cam) is to share ideas. I do my best to offer information that is useful, but reliance on that information is strictly at your own risk and NOT a substitute for professional advice of any kind. I do not create sponsored content or use affiliate links unless they have been explicitly stated above.

I’m so excited to discover your channel! I’m learning SO much. So far this week I’ve learned to winter sow in milk jugs. Technically I’m a Master Gardener (just graduated a few weeks ago!) However, I’ve only been a gardener about a year. I’ll be retiring soon after nearly 30 years as a firefighter/paramedic. My plan for the last few months has been to start a flower farm. Thanks to your videos and encouragement-as of this afternoon I’m the proud new owner of 75 milk jugs full of 43 varieties of flowers 😃😃😃
Hey, it’s just an experiment. Surely if I can keep humans alive I can keep plants alive too, right? What could possibly go wrong?!?
You’re a little north of me. I’m down near Tuscaloosa, AL (I’m tempted to throw in a Roll Tide here but I’ll refrain! Ha!) Anyway, thanks for all the informative videos! I wish you much peace, love and flower success in 2021! Happy gardening! 🌺

I love the format of this video! Maybe a shorter version would be a cool accompaniment that showed the bouquets through the year too. That way all of us who have been paying close attention to the great videos you have been making all year can have a quick guide as to what to expect as far as each month goes. I’m starting to know most of the flower’s names so maybe the footage of the bouquet and just a quick list of what’s in it. That way we have some ideas of what would look good together and at the same time we could know when to expect to finally see those blooms. Just a thought. Keep up the great work! Happy New Year!

I love seeing the purple dead nettle and chickweed poking their cheery little leaves out from under everywhere like a blankie tucking the flowers in to keep their toesies warm. The Army moved us from TN/KY to Texas and I never thought I'd miss a "weed" but they were such a refreshing pop of green when the grass was dormant and I miss them. THANK YOU for sharing all this fantastic info, visually and your experiences! My 8 year old daughter wants to have a cut flower garden and your channel is so helpful and encouraging. Thank you! 🌻

Looking forward to my anemone and ranunculus. I just transplanted them earlier this month out in the garden hope they make it to Spring. Never grew them before. It is funny comparing how the garden looks this year compared to last year. My greenhouse is actually further along this year than it was last year. I want to add some fox gloves to my wild flower patch.

Thank you for this! Making TH-cam videos myself, I know this video took a lot of work! This was very helpful! I've been struggling with trying to ensure I'll have enough of each element (focal, medium sized, spires, fillers, etc.) required to make a good flower arrangement in all of the colors/color schemes In wanting to have, because I'm not sure of when some things bloom, so I've been taking my last frost date, counting the days to bloom, for each flower, seeing that some of the things I wanted to put in an arrangement together don't even bloom within the same month! Haha! I'm still going to do that, for everything except for the the ones that start blooming and just keep on until frost, like cosmos & bachelor buttons, but still- this is VERY helpful! And your pictures are always so beautiful 😍! Every time I see a video like this from you, or Nicole from flowerhillfarm I want to stop and go plan some more things on my garden! 😂

I love this month by month in the garden! Also I love your dahlias, and I know you mentioned possibly selling some tubers in March after you see how they have stored. I am obsessed with your 'N'Tac Mai Li' and I know you mentioned it doesn't look like other N'tac pics you have seen and I agree, I would LOVE to purchase a tuber from you. Please let me know if there's a list or if I can pre-purchase or really, anything. 😊😊😊

Nice flashback. I'm in zone 7 Maryland's eastern shore, last frost here mid May. I noticed this morning I have flowers blooming on the vinca vine. My Clematis has new growth, makes me sad it's going to go with a real cold night, which we've not really had yet, just may baby it with a cover.

The gomphrena mix from Floret is a tall, not bulky, plant. If you pinch it hard the stems are long and you don't end up with a ton that won't take up water. I have some seeds I can send you if you want to try them out. They are the hot pink, red, orange varieties. I'm in south central Ky so my conditions are pretty much the same as yours. Do you have a po box ? You can message it to me, I totally get not wanting to give your address to a internet stranger.

Are you using any kind of low tunnel or greenhouse? If so, I probably wouldn't worry too much - providing that the tubers aren't allowed to freeze. The main issue I would worry about is the potential for rot, especially if the soil is very wet or the weather stays cool for an extended period if time. Good luck! 🌱🌱🌱

@@TONYAwiththeflowers Thank you. No greenhouse just under the eve on South side of my house. I have been covering them when temp drops below 40°.
I was worried about rot too. Not going to water them until they come up. Now I think I will make room in the garage just to make sure they don't get anymore moisture.
