There is a hole on the pulley you can put a screw driver to help lock it in place against like the engine block. But I used a impact socket drill on the bolt and it knocked it off with out having to struggle with it

Wasn't throwing codes. Just had the noise when the car was running. Looked it up and found some one mentioning but didn't have something I could match a sound. So I tried to capture it

How did you lock the crankshaft while loosening and then tightening the carnksaft pulley bolt?

Was it Leaking Oil?
It was leaking a little pil but just the ring was worn out and stiff

Is this the a14nel engine?
Did the nose go away and did the oil stop leaking?
Yes thr noise and everything went away

I used a 38 mm on the bolt
Its an E18. I just tested a socket on my Cuze to confirm.
How many miles on ur Cruze. We have same year
Around 90k I believe
