    God, such a great song from a masterpiece of an album, Achtung Baby. That period in rock history, the early to mid 1990s, is just incredible. You had U2 and REM at their creative peaks, and the grunge bands exploding onto the scene.
    During that first half of the 1990s, bands like U2, REM, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, and Beck put out some of the best music in rock history.

      So Sorry for your loss. Said
      goodbye for now to many I love the past few years I understand.
      Jesus will hold you heart.
      Pray you feel His peace that surpasses all understanding and you know intimately His love for you.

    Love the ending...BAYBAY, BAYBE, Baby light myyy way...Just great lyrics. "There is a silence that comes to a house, where no one can sleep, I guess its the price of love and I know its not cheap"...Bono is simply one of those who has the gift of writing beautiful, deep, bittersweet, hopeful, complex, happy, sad, truthful, haunting, romantic ( I can go on and on lol ) songs...its just how he really is able to pull those emotions with his writing and singing right out of you...You feel it when he sings, period.

      I feel that way about Achtung Baby in general. When I first got the album, I thought it was good, not great. But the more I listened to it, the more I realized it was a masterpiece. Every track is a home run and blends so well together from start to finish. The Joshua Tree will always be U2's biggest album. But in many ways, Achtung Baby is their most significant work.

    "Achtung Baby" is the best U2 album ever made. Watching "From the sky down" documentary, it truly gives a sense of how difficult this album was to make (they still call it the most difficult album they ever made). Definitely, the best rock record of the 90s.

      Harder than completing 'Where the streets have no name'! I do not think so, 'Exit' could be darkest U2's song ever, 'Bullet blue sky' is brilliant but started with a simple bass melody, 'With or without you' is a very odd song, a huge but wonderful risk ...

      Listen to "Until the end of the world" and especially "Acrobat". Both are rock and hard-rock songs especially "Acrobat". It is one of the most intense, heavy, dark and fast rock songs. Achtung Baby was a mix of everything. It goes from a pop/alternative/electronica rock to grunge rock to rock to hard rock all in one album. That is the genius of it.

    The best and worst thing about U2 is that to truly appreciate and fully understand some of the songs one first must go tru some very bad shit in life, like for example, "one", to really get the full meaning of it you have to have failed epicly in love first, kite and ultraviolet at more examples. • @milkcarton6654
      @milkcarton6654 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's over my bed yes. That's what's written in the sleeve too. I can bring out my cassette from 1991 to prove it!
      This is the part that always brings me to tears those past years.

    • @gregvinson1
      @gregvinson1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Boyan Iontchev it is bed. If you have a light bulb over your bed it would be somewhat torturous, or maybe useless. That was the symbolism I got anyway.

    • @milkcarton6654
      @milkcarton6654 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@gregvinson1 No the symbolism is simply that her love kept him seeing in the darkness, was a comfort in dark times. I mean just read the above lines, when i was all messed up and i heard opera in my head...It's rather clear. When i was having a hard time, you were my light. Not to mention the chorus goes "light my way"..... Also, I have a lightbulb hanging over my bed....i would think most people do actually? or if not over their bed, close by.
