Every track is a home run and blends so well together from start to finish. The Joshua Tree will always be U2's biggest album. But in many ways, Achtung Baby is their most significant work.

You had U2 and REM at their creative peaks, and the grunge bands exploding onto the scene. During that first half of the 1990s, bands like U2, REM, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, and Beck put out some of the best music in rock history.
Listening to this on a sleepless night early in 2020. The upcoming day may be rough due to lack of sleep, but for me this music is a medicine, giving peace of mind, that I'm thankful for.

Great memories. When Achtung Baby was released, I was living in England, and some friends & I drove to Edinburgh. We played that CD over & over- especially this song. I loved it the first time I heard it, and I love it even more today.
Me too! I've heard this song since 1991. The first time I heard it was going to give proof to the Rural University (UFRRJ) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. And when I listen to the music, I still feel and remember those times.
When I was all f*cked up and had opera in my head....my girlfriend was the lightbulb over my head. She's now my wife for almost 20 years and still the lightbulb over my head. She stopped the cycle of self harm, desperation and ignited self belief.
For me, it was the early 90s of Hungary. All the world in a positive turmoil, everything becoming more and more free, I was excited about going to University, these were awesome days and this music throws me back.

The best and worst thing about U2 is that to truly appreciate and fully understand some of the songs one first must go tru some very bad shit in life, like for example, "one", to really get the full meaning of it you have to have failed epicly in love first, kite and ultraviolet at more examples. Seemed like every time I was at a crossroad of my life, this album would end up playing in my car as I drove for hours. And when it got to Ultraviolet, my fav on the album, things seemed a little brighter ahead. An awesome song.

Harder than completing 'Where the streets have no name'! I do not think so, 'Exit' could be darkest U2's song ever, 'Bullet blue sky' is brilliant but started with a simple bass melody, 'With or without you' is a very odd song, a huge but wonderful risk ...
