I have not been watching You Tube much for months, but very intrigued by this subject. You are an encyclopedia posing as a human being. You never fail to impress.
Don you’re filled with so much knowledge! Every time you release a video, i’m like how does he know about this as well!! I’ve learned so much from your videos thank you!❤️
I kept all of my swivel chains (despite the jeweler calling them junk) to do SOMETHING with them someday. Thank you, Don, for your carefully detailed tutorials. You rock!🥰
You are amazing!! I’ve been on a mini binge since I found you yesterday. I’m a thrifter and buy ugly furniture or whatever I can bring to life. I always see things youve been talking about but have never really paid much attention. I will now! Mahalo and much aloha! 🤗🌈🌺🙏
Thanks so much for the useful info. I've been accumulating watch chains for almost 5 years now (you're right, most people don't recognize them for what they are) and now have a box full. I knew gold filled was plated but wasn't aware that it was at least 5% gold by weight. Time to start going through them.
Thank u don I have watched all kinds of videos you communicate your message clearly and effectively with out any of the added bell's whistles that make ya want to punch the messenger in the throat for wasting your time
I'm 76 and you're the first person I've ever heard that gave gold filled any value. I've always been told that it's worthless like cheap plating. Thanks for the truth!
Went to a local thrift store today with the goal of only buying items I have seen in your videos. Got a pair of Wiss Upholstery Inlaid Scissors and Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, and Ozzy Osbourne pinbacks. All for $5. You rock!
I'm so glad I found you. I've learned so much since watching your videos in the last week or so, I've been binge watching them. Thanks for sharing your knowledge :)
Another area to research more: gold-filled and plated. I usually skip over those. I do, however, have at least a couple watch chains/fobs. I'll have to check them over closer. (I've always liked them, so I gravitate towards them when I see them.) 😄 Thanks again!!
I went to an antique store today, they had a sidewalk sale. I bought 5 dvds for $2.50 before tax. Anyway since I started watching these videos I'm on a lookout for items that I can flip for a profit
I saved this video awhile ago and am so glad I did. In a recent local auction I bought 5 watch chains for less than $10. 3 of them are the "not the paperclip" style. One is heavy, has a t bar, will look more into it. The last one is interesting, has a blank small sort of dog tag, a horsebit buckle looking thing. Will try finding more about it as well. If anyone has any ideas please comment. Thanks so much.
Thanks Don -- I have a pocket watch that I picked up with a jar full of watches that need batteries or have problems. Now the pocket watch I picked up had a hand missing and it was running when I picked them up. Now trying to figure out how to sell these watches and if it would be to my advantage to test them to see if they just need a battery. It came with a chain --
I happen to own a number of these pocket watch chains and have them in storage - I probably have almost as many non-functioning pocket watches. I purchased a considerable number of vintage jewelry and watches(about 500-600) in 2007 from a jewelry store that was upgrading and modernizing and moving to a new location. Some of these items date back to late 1800s, most were early to mid 20th century. Too many items to mention but noteworthy are a couple 8 day clocks from a fighter plane from WW2, sterling silver tea kettle from early 19th century, fully hallmarked from Britain but in worn condition; various expensive watches - men's: Omega, Bucherer, others: 18k white gold Rolex watchband(it's been tested),etc, some gold filled and some 10-18k. One Bulova lady's watch with sales price tag still on it(new old stock, 1950s), sterling silverware/cutlery still in original sealed plastic. Multiple boxes of such items, including 20-30 pounds of gold filled watchbands and scrap which I have yet to recover. I've sold only 1-2% of my items so far. Several pounds of vintage costume jewelry - some with designer names.. Your TH-cam Channel is invaluable, thanks!
Hey Don Great Video! Have you ever dabbed in ferrous metals. I came across a tool box that was layeres with brass or copper tube bars. I must have like 10 or 20 of them. How do you know the difference. I've been told they have amazing value. Hope you & your family are doing well! Thanks
Hi Don, just found your channel today. I haven't been out to find items to resell because of the pandemic but I think I'll get a haz-mat suit and give it a go. If those chains aren't marked, how do you know how much gold is in them? Do you have a scale? I'm sorry if you've answered this before, I went through your feedback but couldn't find the answer. I will also do a Google search. TYFS
I have some family pocketwatches and a chain as you described. I have 2 very small womens pocket watches and my chain is ornate. Where womens watches always on the breast/chest pins? My chain seems feminine with filigree. Were there womens chains? I have learned sooo much from all your videos thankyou and I love seeing the commercials.❤🤭⚘
Is there an email where I can send you a picture of something? I'm not sure if I should try to sell it or donate it. I can't find anything online about it.
Enjoying your channel. Im so happy to find out all this valuable information. Wow!💛💛💛💛💛💫💥💫💥💫💥💫 I know I'll be seeing these today and from now on.😁 I'll be heading out this morning in search of these. 🧡🧡🧡🧡 I'm so excited🤩 Thank you very much😀 Seeing alot of 555 lately comments 55~ 5 dislikes ~

Hey Don, or anybody else who can help. I bought a box of 45's at a garage sale and want to list them. I'm assuming you need to make sure they play without skips etc but that would take a long time. I like to list as fast as possible and go on to the next thing. How do you handle this. Thanks
Great I informative show as usual! Too bad on alot of the close-ups your image of you talking obscured the swivel you were highlighting. Thanks for the info!

THANK YOU for interpreting what "GOLD FILLED" actually means. Well done, sir. Easy to understand.

Thank you so much Don for going to how gold is identified on jewelry. Very important and informative.

Personally, I'd listen to each one before selling. Otherwise, I think you's wind up getting bad reviews and you don't want that!
I found out you can smelt the gold out of gold filled not plated but filled. I am thi ki g of getting my gas furnace out of storage.
A 1000% improvement on the outro music. That darkness before was eerie! And thanks again for another great and knowledgeable video!
