Thanks for the tips on cleaning paint brushes, I never knew that Windex would have a useful application as a cleaner. I'll try that next time I'm painting. 🤔👍

Thanks that helps me so much! I was so scared of using soap on my brushes. I have some oil brushes in need of help they are pitiful. So pitiful I switched to acrylic painting lol. I tried the mineral spirits and it was gross it got so thick and i seen paint in it but I still had a dirty brush. Same happened with paint thinner so yeah I switched I am still new so I guess it was no big deal to switch. Anyway thanks for the video!

Appreciate the tips. I'm notorious for ruining brushes through neglect to the point of not purchasing or using quality brushes and at times my work suffers from it.

So now I know to wash my brushes immediately because I cannot breathe around those solvents. Time to throw a few away and get new ones and good care of them. Thank you 😊

Acetone, then. It melts celluloid and rubber gloves. I use it to repair accordion celluloid. It's a powerful solvent.

I pour my dirty paint water onto a puppy pad in a foil baking pan. Water evaporates overnight and paint is in the pad. Reuse pad several times and when saturated with paint it goes into the garbage. This is less messy than cat litter for me.

I used sign painters enamel for many years, and we'd use acetone or lacquer thinner for the first bath, then paint thinner, and finally soak them with brush oil, a non acidic non drying oil like olive oil, or, in an emergency, automatic transmission fluid. When the brushes finally began getting a bit tweaked out, as they would, I'd learned to dip it in brush oil, wrap it tightly with aluminum foil to shape the hair, and cook it with a lighter for 20 to 30 seconds, peel off the foil, and voila! The Bush is reborn by hot oil treatment like in a Tony hairstylist salon!

Rubbing alcohol, or denatured alcohol works, too.
