    Spent 3 days trying to learn from some other guy's video without success. You got me going in less than 11 minutes. Thumbs up! (And middle finger up for the other guy).

    Excellent beginner's overview, thank you! Another simple feature worth mentioning: BiaB also enables the user to transpose the song's key (as one would expect!).

    I started using BIAB in the late 1980s on a Mac SE. in those days it was MIDI only. No RealTracks. It was still amazing. If you’re trying to cover a song, all you need to do is find it or generate it with Chordify and type it in to BIAB. The most difficult part is choosing which style to use.

    • @nickkellie

      Wow dude, I too used Mac SE in the 80's for my graphics business back in the day, it was the bees knees back then. Didn't know about BIAB though back then.

      Yes you can. Individual tracks and then mix them

    • @GreatSongs
      @GreatSongs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nickkellie Just to clarify you mean I could drag the tracks onto protools or logic and then mix them separately on protools? Can you adjust effects on on the individual tracks before they are put on a DAW?

    • @nickkellie
      @nickkellie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t recall them having effects on to begin with. Just to clarify i don’t work for pg music and am not paid by them so I don’t really know every detail. I just made this video for fun. But yes you can export each instrument as its own stem and mix and add effects to taste. Sometimes I just export bass and drums for example and add my own guitar

    • @waynemiller6070
      @waynemiller6070 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@GreatSongs I know this response is quite a while after your post, but band in a box has reverb as I think it’s only effect. It’s a good idea to turn the reverb off before dragging the parts over to your DAW. That way you can add in whatever reverb you want in ProTools. If you don’t, it will print the WAV file in ProTools with the reverb that you then can’t get rid of.

    • @nickkellie
      @nickkellie  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was going into Logic (a separate program) and using their amp simulation plugin within that. Band in a box is for the creation of the backing track only in this case. I’m not sure if band in a box contains any feature for recording (it may but I am not an expert, I’m just a user that made this video for fun)

    Also, many thanks for sharing your knowhow, Nick! May I ask you for a solution of my problem with notating lines in BIAB? For example, writing the bassline in the classical jazzsong "Cantaloupe Island". I already know how to use "Not´n" in BIAB. But how to copy & paste one written (bass-) bar to the next, following bars? Then transpose in case of Db7? Same to the great pianovamp of Hancock! Thankful for any advice, regards from Europe, Austria, Guenther!

    • @nickkellie
      @nickkellie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Donna, no I just made this video for fun. I would actually do the opposite. I would drag the band in the box exported individual audio files into my recording software project, then you can pick and choose which instrument you want, and then mix the whole thing.
