When Eddie Murphy was getting beat up by Gold mouth over the cornbread, he said, " I know an old btch name Della that hit harder than you". He was referring to Della Reese, the actress that beat up Eddie Murphy in the movie 'Harlem Nights'.
I never knew that till I watched Harlem Nights
It took me years to get that joke
I just said this and then seen your comment lol
Always thought just a random line lol ..if it wasn't for you would of never knew
great movie… and has Richard Pryor to boot
Fun fact: When Eddie was talking about the "killing spree" in that cafeteria scene, that whole bit was improved. The director just told him to talk and that shit was hilarious
There will be consequences and repercussions best line of the movie
It was Eddie suggestion or request that everybody improv...
"Thinking about my cornbread better get the taste outta your mouth"
I didn’t know that!!! One of the funniest lines in the movie.
That's awesome
Aww! I forgot that Heavy D was in this. RIP Overweight Lover in Da House.
🙏🏽❤️
Diddly Diddly Dee...
He was such a good actor. I was stunned to see him playing a recurring role on Law & Order.
@@Ivy94F and season 1 of Bones.
Rick James too RIP
This movie shifts from comedy to drama several times, a very unique and underrated film.
Exactly. A lot of people forget that the movie was a reflection of an all too common reality. Too many black men wrongly convicted
@@shantel903exactly it's really messed up on my end of it and seeing how people w my skin color were(and still are); the penal colony was another form of slavery imo because it never targeted Caucasian men unless they were destitute or associated with people most others would have looked down on so although it's painful in ways to watch because I'm Caucasian and it makes me wanna call the ancestors just to take them to task; it's also a beautiful movie and I think it's genius they portrayed a lot of hard truth and made it to where people would take it in thinking its pure comedy and easily palatable but then it smacks you w real shit. Btw wyclefs best song is by far new day and I think it deserves more plays than it has the montage where everyone starts passing makes me cry every time stg 😭
"I da pappy" is my FAVORITE part of this entire movie. You can tell by everyone's reactions that they didn't expect Bernie Mac to claim the baby like that!
My fave part too😂😂
Improv golden moment
I’ll always love Eddie and Martin but Bernie Mack is gold in this movie. R.I.P
Watch Harlem nights with Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor 😁
I Second Harlem Nights. An absolute classic with such a star-studded cast!
And a shit ton of other superstars lol
I was about to comment the samething
My friend showed me that movie it's 1 of my favorites now.
Harlem Nights is a classic
When Eddie is reading that letter and he says “there was a massive tornado in which yo mama and yo daddy were both killed” I crack up. It’s so tragic it’s hilarious. Dark humor at it’s finest.
Plus the non reaction from dude he just like it’s good to no what dem letters mean on dem paypas fonlee
Lol. 'Anyone else want something read?'
'NO!'
What's funny about that?
@@rickreed5836 nothing is funny about that specifically. It’s the accumulation. In life things can be so overwhelming and hopeless all you can do is laugh because you can’t cry anymore. Which I think, now that I write this, is the theme of this comedy.
Thin line between love and hate and THE WOOD!!!
The Wood would be great
Yes the wood!
The wood
I fully support this message
Yes. The Wood.
* side note, the character Spanky was played by the singer Rick James..
🙏🏽❤️
Was coming to comment that lol.
Just about to note that one
...yep was about to say this too LoL
Facts
I love that outtakes when the phone rings, "hello, yea I know it's 1932, I'm The first on to have one of these". 😂😂😂
I loved the outtakes man, I wish more movies would do that at the end of them lol
@@OctoKrool ikr!!?
@@OctoKrool your brother was very serious about the cornbread.... Lol he said fuck him about the cornbread
This movie had a ton of stars! Anthony Anderson, Heavy D, Bernie Mac, Guy Tory, Rick James, Lisa Nicole Carson, Sanaa Lathan, and the legendary Obba Babatunde.
The waitress that helped cheat in the card game was a child actress on Nickelodeon on either “salute your shorts” or “hey dude”
the girl singing at spanks club was from envogue
Obba Babatunde will always be Dean Cain from How High to me.

This is one of the most underrated movies ever made. With their chemistry, I cannot believe Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawerence didn’t make more movies together. They were absolutely hilarious.
They were in boomerang together
@@ccrdcd38 BAD Boys 1,2 & 3....
And now living life together, because their KIDS married each other, recently ❤
@@kaydubya6347 Bad Boys was Will Smith and Martin
@@kaydubya6347uh Bad Boys was with Will Smith. You couldn't have seen any of them movies
@jjc5871 You're absolutely right! They should've made at LEAST two more co-starring movies after "LIFE". Three great buddy movies that you could pull up at anytime and know you will enjoy!.....But, I guess it's good to dream sometimes. lol
Years later I found out Spanky was played by Rick James. I never noticed that was him.
Me too! It makes sense bc Rick James was friends with Eddie and his brother Charlie.
RIP Rick James
Wow
Rick was looking rough by then.
Wth 🤯 how have I never noticed that
The brother in the front is a big teddy bear 🐻 all of the sad parts, you can literally see the emotion in his eyes & face. Him twirling his beard is a coping mechanism 😄 it's how he copes with the steess of all these emotionally draining movies💙
'A Low Down Dirty Shame."
We need y'all to watch it.
Written and Directed by Keenen Wayans.
Action Comedy.
Underrated classic
Yes it is!! One of my favorites
Yes!!! Waymon makes the movie for me 😂😂
💯
Very underrated! I prefer damon and keenan to marlon and shawn
@@maniac50ae14
Yeah so do I.
Keenen could easily write a sequel too.
Idk if you remember the asian dude who told him in the beginning "one day we will meet again."
Have him kidnap Peaches and Shame's teenage to get to Shame because he took those diamonds.
That's the movie right there.
The Soundtrack to the movie Life is EPIC as well
This might be the greatest reaction channel I've came across. Salute fellas!!!
Thank you man, we appreciate it!

ALL FAX NO PRINTER!!!
I was crying when you guys were cheering for the cornbread! "DO IT FOR THE CORNBREAD!!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We just really love cornbread lol
@@OctoKrool Sound like it lol...
I eat potato's salad and cornbread.
Jason's. Lyrics is another classic, like juice
Lol
It costars Bokeem Woodbine, the actor who plays Can't-Get-Right.
“Which one of you killed Santa Claus?!” “It wasn’t the real Santa Claus. It was just one of the guys in the suit.” 🤣
"He had presents" 😂😂😂😂😂
It’s a small part but it killed me
The cafeteria scene is hilarious
@@DesignzRUs “I didn’t get nothing” lmao
I graduated high school today and I got blessed with this video
Congrats!
That's what I'm talking about Demetrius, congratulation on graduating; I'm proud of you man!
Congratulations, man.
Thanks everybody
Congratulations on your next journey in life!!! My son graduates next week!!
FOR THE CORNBREAD!!! ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
😂😂😂😂”Not Over A Cornbread Man”
😂😂😂😂👍🏿
This is one of my fav movies, funny yet a sad truth of some of our history in this country. The cast were pretty good, and the last segment about your mom cornbread just made me hungry.
I'm so happy you guys reacted to this, this might be Eddie Murphy's most underrated film, this is one of his top movies and it doesn't get enough credit!
Another underrated movie of his is
" Distinguished Gentleman " which tells the truth about politics.
Rick James looked really good in this film, I almost didn't recognize him 1st time I saw it. Speaking of legends, if you love this you'll love Eddie Murphy's HARLEM NIGHTS. Another classic in case yall haven't seen it.
Just started the video but as a kid and my mom having this movie on DVD when we had no cable I've seen this movie dozens of times and it never gets old
My fav line "you gon' eat yo' cornbread"
Can’t get right actor was Bokeem Woodbine. He played in a lot of movies like Strapped, Jason’s Lyric, Dead Presidents, and Sopranos.
And Caught Up As Well
I fuck with the movie Devil he was in
@@xxxentbrandonredhoodrobins7606 Underrated Movie.
@@allencollins5666 yeah I know it is
He also came out in the 1995 movie "Panther".
an underrated gem! another underrated Eddie Murphy movie is Vampire in Brooklyn
Naw bruh Vampire in Brooklyn is not underrated at all 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everybody slept on this!!! This is my shit
@@travisrobbins4991 Thats my shit but it was slept on and didn't do well.
Ok .... NOW you guys have Entered THE ROOM OF BEING GOAT REACTORS. BECAUSE OF THIS FILM🔥
I’m hailing from Detroit. Love y’all channel. I will recommend a movie in the future. Keep doing what y’all doing. Much love ✊🏾🔥
Thanks for love man, I can't wait for that recommendation!
@@OctoKrool I don't understand how they actually were able to complete this film.... HILARIOUS!!!!!
@@OctoKrool There Will be Blood..... Gangs of New York..... Mother are 3 movies you guys should watch
@@JesseJ.Speigner Gangs of NY for sure
Love the reaction fellas but Ray didn't take his money, the loan sharks did so it wasn't Ray's fault. Ray saved Claud from bein killed in the beginning
@Lee Brown damn auto correct 🤦🏾♂😂
Whoever selected Life is awesome!!!!!
You should also watch The Player's Club with Lisa Raye. There's some strong themes but it's a good movie
They don't know who Lisa Raye is. Lol
As many times as I have seen this movie I did not realise that Spanky was played by Rick James! RIP to you Rick James!
Glad yall did this. LIFE will never get old, a true classic with 5 legends. RIP Bernie Mac. RIP HEAVY D. RIP Rick James
Facts!
Please do Poetic Justice🥺🥺
yes this one!
RIGHTT I KEEP TELLING THEM LETS SPAM IT ON ALL OF THERE VIDEOS!!
WHEN WILL U DO TRADING PLACES WITH EDDIE MURPHY AND DAN AYKROYD??
Good one
And distinguished gentleman!!!
Classic
You have to watch Coming to America to find out what happened to the two old guys in Trading Places.
By the time Ray (Eddie) stole his wallet, Claude had already had his money taken, so he couldn't pay his bill and that's how Spanky took him and was about to drown him. So regardless, Ray saved him from that. Of course, he saved him by having him be his partner on this trip to get the alcohol, which then led to them getting framed for that murder. It's a little hard to 100% blame Ray, though.
The character of "Spank" was played by the great Rick James.
Also you guys should REALLY check out:
Eddie Murphy - Harlem Nights
Yeah, Harlem Nights should be sometime soon
LIFE is one of those CLASSIC movies that after watching a hundred times, I only can watch half way through......Its SO fuckin hilariously funny, but SO fuckin sad/depressing......especially when they start aging. Makes you think of yourself getting old. Especially when Martin sees his reflection in that car window, sees how much he's aged. It ends great, but damn it sucks what they went through. Imagine all the truly innocent people in prison.......anyway.....Again, LEGENDARY movie, but sad as hell.....
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I forgot how great this movie is.
I've never noticed this but when that big ol boy slim comes out and says "you found him"
He sounds just like Dave chappelle playing Clayton Bixby.
"Well look no further fella. You found him."
That letter bit gets me everytime. Everybody put their letter back in their pocket after hearing the first one. Everybody died in that letter 😂😂😂😂😂
I do understand that Claude's life was about to "begin" in a way. But you have to remember Claude had a past and it caught up to him that night whether or not he ran into Ray. In fact he might have been killed that night if it wasn't for Ray
Please react to The Wood,
It’s funny as hell. Definitely has a happy ending.
A 90’s classic!!!
I can recite this entire movie. One of my favorites from childhood and probably top ten of my favorite 90s movies.
The baseball player is Bokeem Woodbine. He was in Dead Presidents, Jason Lyric and some other movies
How could I forget about "Life"....OctoKrool is hittin em out the park boy! 👍
Let's just call it what it is at this point: Black Cinema Tuesday! 😁I freaking love it and I look forward to it every Tuesday🥰
Harlem knights is a must now
?
Harlem Nights is my favorite!!!
9:20 'Oh no she's got him. Target acquired." Lmao! One of the best parts.
God this was a great movie! The heavyweights of comedy came together and made magic once again! Great review guys! The guy who was the real father of that baby, is named Bokeem Woodbine. He was in Dead President’s. You’ll notice that many black actors were recycled in these movies especially during the late 80’s and early 90’s. That’s how “closed” Hollywood was to African American actors. Thank God that you all are reviewing these movies 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Y’all should watch “The Color Purple” such a great movie I believe you guys will enjoy. Real classic!!!!
Yesss
If “The Green Mile” made them cry Color Purple will have them bawling at the end 😩😭
I bet you guys would love it I always cry at the end no matter how many times I've seen it
That man hating movie color purple? Really?
"Hell yea, hell yea..shit yea!" Glad y'all enjoyed one of my fav favs!
I love how yall didn't recognize the GREAT Heavy D in the beginning
I don’t think they know who heavy D is
There are so many legends and icons in this movie. This was a once in a lifetime gathering. An instant classic!
Thank you!
Jangalang was Bernie Mac. Dude was soo funny in everything. We need to swamp them with a request for Kings of Comedy!!!
Y'all kill'n it wit these classics! 🤙🏾
Y'all should do Jason's lyric next just such a heartfelt . movie a bit sad but a hell of a movie
As funny as this movie is, the enormous amount of heart it has makes it more endearing after each watch. It's also a reminder of the great talents we have lost through the years like Rick James, Heavy D, and Bernie Mac. Timeless classic!
Harlem nights one of the funniest movies ever
R.i.p to Bernie mac
Great reaction guys!! A great follow up to Life is to watch Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, and Red Foxx in Harlem Nights from 1989. Funny as hell! You two won't regret it! 😂

React to the bodyguard with Whitney Houston
That actor was Bokeem Woodbine. And his imdb is long and he's been in some of everything.
I met him decades ago when he had done Sniper 3 and he was happy to talk about the industry and his career to a stranger. Really nice guy and has done some really good work.
@@tempsitch5632 hopefully i would meet him one day he also played in Caught Up Movie
Eddie and Martin were also in Boomerang together. I think that's one of his more underrated movies
Guessing they haven’t seen Harlem nights yet. The Della reference is great
could you imagine being on the set with that cast? non-stop laughs, no doubt!!
Dang, I was about to crash :/
OctoKrool twins AND Life?
c'mon...!
Drumline. Good story. good music
The bald head baseball prospect you were trying to remember his name is actor Bokeem Woodbine and another hood classic that you should definitely watch is the movie strapped directed by Forest Whitaker starring Bokeem Woodbine and Fredro Starr 👍👍
He’s also in Jason’a Lyric and Dead Presidents, two more hood classics
He also played in Caught Up
@@sadegarrett6084 yup another dope hood psychological thriller, but they should definitely watch his first movie 💯
I would like to recommend White Men Can't Jump
Been seeing this one quite a bit; definitely on the list!
A lot of the actors in this (and a lot of the older films you have watched) were tried and true standup comedians which is a part of why these movies are so much funnier than a lot of what we see now.
Oh & also another classic “ lean on me” with Morgan Freeman
I remember me & my homeboys watching this at the theater. We were 19 then and it was amazing
Can't Get Right is played by Bokeem Woodbine. Most recently he was cast in Spider-man: Homecoming.
And 'Fargo', season 2
@@tracyhale8336 he was also in “Wu Tang: An American Saga”
I love this movie so much! It's one of my favorite movies starring two my favorite comedians, Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence! It's so good I bought the movie on TH-cam and Vudu! It's that special to me!
He said “I need cornbread soon” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you guys make America Great!!!
