  • Chicken quarters are cheap and delicious. If you need to feed many people for not a lot of money, you need to be cooking. This video will show how to trim and prep your chicken quarters using a 6-inch Dexter Russell Boning Knife and a 48-Blade Jaccard. You can then cook your chicken quarters using your method of choice, but the grill is my favorite. 😋 Comment below.

    You missed all that fat and organ tissue inside the rib well. Stick your thumb down in it and pop it out. Also grab the drumstick in one hand, and the rib section in the other and pop the thigh bone out on one end. Three swift motions, pop bone. Scoop guts, pull fat Whole bag in 2 minutes. I pull the fat instead of cutting so it leaves the skin.

      I appreciate you watching and commenting. I use to try to pull it off but I have nerve damage in my left hand so it's easier for me to cut it. Plus I like to save the skin and fat to make schmaltz and chicken cracklins by rendering down the fat.

      also pop the end of the thigh bone out for more even cooking internal.

    Can you do a video on how we can actually tell if the leh quarters are bad or not ?

      If they are bad the first thing you will notice is the smell. I will have to do one about it.

      It's called a Jaccard Meat Tenderizer. It's the best meat tenderizer out there in my opinion. The link is in the description. 😁

    These leg quarter bags are still fuckin $5 at walmart, it's awesome. I open the bags up and portion em out in bags of two and freeze em, they'll last damn near a year in the freezer. Great for stew, I'll use em for gumbo with some andouille.

    This is not cleaning the chicken, you only cut off a piece of fat

      That's all you need to cutoff. I don't over trim the meat so that it stays juicy. Thanks for stopping by.

    Dude, what about the junk ?? Do you not clean that crap?? The liver and stomach etc?? That’s gross

    • @UncleBirdsBBQ
      @UncleBirdsBBQ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I don't leave the stomach or liver since it's already removed. You are referring to the kidney pieces, if they are hanging I remove them if not I don't bother. Thanks for watching.
