Later, I'll spin by Laura's to check out a new toy, and then I'll keep at the 1960 Impala deck lid. Finally, We're back at Jim's to keep moving on the 1956 Continenetal Mark II project! I’m so glad you were able to put all those parts to good use! I can’t wait to see you driving the Buick next year. It was my pleasure to be able to help you out. Thanks for the quality, enjoyable program every week! - Luke Hansen
In 1969 I was hired as a painter's helper at Mulvihill Oldsmobile on Division Ave in Grand Rapids. Directly across the street was Northwestern Auto Supply. They had every NOS part you could ever imagine. When I purchased my 1952 Oldsmobile in 2016, I found almost every part I needed for it there. Walking into that store was like walking into a parts store that had been sealed up since the 30's. They were truly amazing.
It seems a fair bet that nowhere else in the world is someone hunkered up in a cold garage, building a Dynaflow trans, with a Traction Avant as their backdrop. Fantastic!
Another great episode to lift the spirits. The biggest thing I learned this week from the show was.. I'm never...ever... opening up an auto transmission. You and Bunny are much braver than me. Cheers from a shed that I actually spent some time in this week. All the best.
Enjoyed the whole show, great job on the Dynaflow repair Bunny. The Continental is looking better and it's nice that Jim, much like Jonathan W, is getting cat scans performed on it.
Kudos to all the employees of Bunny's Transmission Shoppe. Being able to take apart, clean, repair and reassemble such a complex thing as this transmission is next-level, to a casual car guy like me! I'll take bets that it works perfectly, first time it's fired up! Same with the repair on that Impala trunk lid! Next-level! Thanks for your channel. Got my calendar!
It's as if all of us are peering into a critical operation in a major hospital operatory theater, using 1950's technology to cure a patient using the finest cooperation between two renowned surgeons of iron technology to deliver a gift to us all to preserve what we all love, survival of classic automobiles....as calmly being guided by an utterly competent female guide. I love this.
Lovely Charming Informative just great. I find it fascinating seeing the engineering on its raw state and marvel at how it was designed and developed. Thank you all so much. ❤
Scott is now branching out to include automatic transmission overhauls - with Bunny's help, of course.:) I think Bunny would love my AMX. Our '68 Ambassador had its transmission rebuilt after 100,000 miles. One band was replaced; the other one was still good.
Another great video of some great projects. I was really glad to see Jim and the bit of an update on his "Stinkin' Linkin'" project and the VW also. Thank guys..... and Bunny also!
Hi, Scott, I just received the calendar, Thank you. Bunny is doing an outstanding job on the Dynaflow transmission, she will become a great mechanic because of your training. The Chevy trunk lid is beautiful. You are the Man, the Impala will look like roll off the assembly line. Everybody is helping you by sending parts to help you on this restoration. It's nice to see you and Jim back working on the Continental again. Thank you again for the calendar and the sticker. Cheers!
Cheers Aubrey! Thanks as always for the kind words and support for the ol' show here... Glad your calendar arrived ok... Thanks again for ordering one!
I'm happy now! I got my weekly fix! Lol! It's great to see Miss Honey Bunny stepping out of her comfort zone of being less camera shy. She's definitely a keeper! Not afraid to get her hands dirty and dive into that 59 Buick transmission like a champ! Trunk splice on the 60 Chevy came out great! That old Lincoln looks pretty cool. As always, a great show! Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see what's in store for next week! Cheers!
@@jefferygillespie5163more nonsense makes perfect sense and since we’re talking sense how much cents would that have saved Scott if he had to pay someone to do it?
That MarkV just keeps on giving, no wonder Jim enjoyed his summer. Bunny's Transmission shop is putting out quality Dynaflo goodness, thanks to Luke. Great episode Scott, it's always good fun watching it all go down. 👍🏻🍻
Waw! What an awesome show! Nice to see the Continental getting some love again. Hey, where is Tom? Good job to you both on the Dynaflow, I wouldn't tackle that with a 12 foot pole! Looking FWD to next episode as always.
Love Jim's well behaved Cat Inspectors insuring a job well done on the 1956 Continental Mark II project! That is, providing that the treats keep coming. Meowww!
That piece for the boot lid came out a treat. I hope you'll consider adding a drainage hole there since it looks like water get trapper there. Of course you'll probably never drive it in the rain but you will certainly wash it or you could be out on a nice sunny day that later turns to rain. Anyway, I'm not a panel guy so it's just a thought.

No change in my subscription status. The more I look at Jim’s Continental, the more I think it spent a lot of time at the Texas gulf coast. Bunny (HB) is doing slow methodical job on the transmission you have to do, another reason I like standard shifts along as fact the current generation has no idea how to operate them . Best to all the agents and contributors to todays show, and hope todays snow storm is not impacting you too much. See you Thursday.
Amazing work on the Dynaflow & trunk lid. Collin & Laura's new toy is cool. Great to see Jim. Always nice to see Bunny in front of camera. What a girl you have there Scott. Fun Frankers short also. I'm curious, was that a Mountie at the CWM club intro ? Thanks to everyone who's chipping in to get Scott the proper NOS parts too. Till next time, Cheers 👊😎👍
Great job keeping all of the CWM projects progressing! Bunny kicked butt on the Dynaflow. Scott, your metal fabrication work is always fascinating to watch. Glad to see the Mark II again as well. Thanks to all of you for your hard work. Have a great week!
Awesome fabrication on the Impala trunk piece. You and Bunny are braver than I tackling that Dynaflow. Nice to see Jim again and his fleet. Cheers to all!
An excellent variety of topics. Shawn's Dynaflo refresh is enjoyable. The trunk lid splice for the Chevy splice was a treat. It was nice to see Laura, Colin and Jim again. Thanks again Scott and Best Wishes to everyone at Cold War Motors, their Families and Friends.

The transmission is looking good! Nice you have Bunny to make sure it goes back together nice. It's good to have a cool head to keep from losing it should patience start to wear thin. Nice loader Collin! Good finish to a tricky part on the outer part of trunk lid for the Impala! Back to the Lincoln. Ince you start you never know what you will come up against. Just those broken vent hoses you might not ever know about until Jim got that panel off. That car is going to be better than when it left the factory! Thank you everyone for sharing!!!
Scott : when you dissect the metal work on that Impala you really see how much the car is truly a work of art !!, And your work in recreating the sheetmetal on the trunk lid is in turn a work of art. So a lot of words to say, Loved the work you did !!!!
Up until 8 years ago I lived in the Grand Rapids Michigan area. I have visited Northwestern Auto supply. Back in the 1970s I rebuilt a 33 Plymouth engine. Northwestern had all the parts I needed. That place was amazing it was like stepping back in time. They had parts sourced from all over. Many obsolete brands. From what I was told they bought inventory from old closed parts stores.
What a great helper you have with that Dynaflow, you are lucky indeed! The sheet metal on the trunk lid of the 60 looks so complex, and you nailed it. Jim's Conti was nice to see again, but it appears to be a pandoras box of unpleasant surprises. Laura's Rover would be nice to see coming along as well :)
