I like both pieces Shel. I have had that kind of week, If something can spill it does, if it can break it does and if I hit anything it will break the skin. I am glad my week is over. I have inks sitting in front of me, I think I will put a drop cloth on the floor first :) Thanks Shel, have a great day.
I have acrylic inks that I got for Christmas and haven't had chance to play with yet. Thanks for the inspiration, just hope I don't get quite as messy as you did but the way my life is right now I probably will do! Tfs x
Great exercise for playing with acrylic inks, Shel. Hey, join the club, we’ve been having thunderstorms and humidity ( oye, the humidity,) and my knees and back really hurt today. Ahh, the power of nature. These pieces were fun to watch. Thanks,Shel.
Awesome pieces Shel! I have a bunch of acrylic inks and never tried using them this way, but I will now, thanks for the inspiration. :) Thanks for sharing!
I've had acrylic inks sitting around for awhile and just never got around to trying them out, not really sure what to do once I got them. You just lit my fire!!
Shel goes to town lol Looked like you were having fun to me 😊 Tfs x Is acrylic ink similar to the contents of Posca pens? I've been thinking about buying the empty / refill marker pens and filling them with acrylic ink. Do you think they would work like Posca pens? Just read your answer to Keryn's question and I'm thinking I'd need to pick something like the Sennelier - fast drying, opaque, more filler?
Hi Pippi :) There is a set of liquitex acrylic inks in basic colors that come with empty markers, or you can buy them seperate, so I know for sure they work. I have some empty fat liquitex markers that came with my inks. I have never used them though as I don't see a need for fat markers at this point LOL
@@ShelCPaperOcotilloStudioThanks Shel :) I'll have a look for those. I have really gotten into doodling with Posca pens. I have the PC-1M fine tips and PC-5M medium. I'm thinking that it would be more economical and eco-friendly to go with 'self-filling' plus I'd have the ink to use for larger areas and be able to choose a wider range of colours :) xx
@@pippipants You can refill Posca pens by pulling out the tip and adding very diluted acrylic...I have seen Lindsay do that. I order my white Posca in sets of 3 and just go through them as they are inexpensive on Amazon.
Regardless of the couple of blips that’s you turned into opportunities, both pieces are lovely. The one that became flowers looked like coral to me for quite a while until you added the centers. The blown piece was the one where I saw flowers instantly. Interesting how different people can see different possibilities in the same work of art.
I was having a day...Peg too. Apparently she also had a wet art mishap while photographing one of hers also. I think the planets are out of alignment or something!
Save the artwork, don’t stress about the clothes and floor! 😘😂😂 Those days just mean that one job just leads to the next one and the work is never done! 😞 Are the storms helping with the putting out of the fires or causing more outbreaks from the lightning? Hopefully, it’s the former! 🤞Shel, are there any differences between the brands of ink or are they basically the same?
I know right? LOL The Big Horn fire is finally contained but the lightnight did start a new one. However, it was contained quickly due to it still raining. Still overcast and rainy this morning..and humid. There are slight differences in the inks. The mastisse is thinner and dries very shiny and sort of raised up. The liquitex is more gloopy but could be the age...I have had that one a long time. I did dry faster though. I think my favorite and the least expensive was the sennelier abstract inks. They have more filler in them, but dry fast and are most opaque. So in this case..I guess I like the lesser quality one of the ones I tried LOL
Great
I love the flowers. Thanks for videoing.
So nice of you Elaine :)
Watched this again. Fabulous!

Thank you Rosemaree :) That is was fascinates me about abstract art! People get to see what they want to get out of it.
Love both😍 but my fave is the "fire" one, it has such vibrant colors. Have an amazing day Shel!❤
Thank you :) You too!
what type of paper and was that alcohol you put down before inks
NVM i heard you say water and watercolor paper Love it!
Thank you :)
Yes, kind of a weird day but both pieces are really cool.
Indeed they are :) A day of mishaps LOL
What do you do to take the buckling out of the paper after the painting is done
Hi Janis. You can lightly mist the back of the paper with a water sprayer and then place it under something heavy to dry. Thanks for watching :)
Hey Shel 🔔 dahhhlinn,,
Time to make the doughnuts 🍩?
