Ah, when Clapton is on fire I don't think many guitarists can compete. But it isn't about competing, it's about soul, feel and ultimately entertainment. Clapton has a rare gift that even Hendrix can't beat. That's only my opinion.

Clapton in the 90s to early 2000s is too underrated... I’d put that up there with any of his earlier stuff. It’s like he needed to get a bit older to combine the fire from his youth with the decades of learning licks and styles.

When you watch Eric Clapton, you get a complete package. He is surrounded by a coterie of superb musicians who he could learn from and from whom they could also learn. It is musical symbiosis at its forefront. Andy Fairweather Low is an understated musician but if one would keenly observe, his rhythm playing exudes nifty nuances. His vocals are great on this one and right on the dime. And Eric? what one of his TRANCE-LIKE EXCURSIONS.

So much for the younger generation of fools that say CLAPTON's leads are boring. They seem to think shredding has to be included. While I can respect those that have a shredding ability, to me it's NOT music. It's a jumbled mess of noise with no melody. Fitting in a melodic lead solo into a great song takes much more talent, and if he wanted, CLAPTON could do justice to any song with any musician. Yet he’s perfectly content to take the back seat and let others step out and shine.

As an easily led 14 yr old, House of the Rising Sun was the first 6/8 blues song I fell in love with. Gin House Blues, was the next, and probably the more influential, as I still play it even now. I didn’t realise at the time, but even a lullaby I wrote for my baby daughter was in 6/8 time. Such was the influence of Gin House Blues. I still love it to this day…

...and I believe it has actual 'tremolo' on it, meaning pulsing changes in volume, which usually you only hear in surf music. And for the old Fender amp tremolo/reverb discussion (they mislabel), here's a rare chance to hear tremolo.

I saw AFL in a small venue 5/6 years ago. His playing style is one like I had never seen before. He was very aggressive in style and had a different approach to chord playing. It was like blues on steroids, and very memorable for that. I just noticed Andy is playing chords without a pick, wow he must have extra layers of skin on his fingers. Clapton soloing at his best.

The song now most usually called "Gin House" or "Gin House Blues" - with the opening lines "Stay away from me 'cause I'm in my sin / If this place gets raided, it's just me and my gin..." was originally entitled "Me and My Gin", and was recorded by Bessie Smith on 25 August 1928 It was written by "Harry Burke", which may be a pseudonym of the pianist and songwriter James C. Johnson. It is this song which has been recorded by many musicians over the years under the title "Gin House Blues"

This one ! That is a blues That has its own 'carnadura' and essential … He has his OWN CARNADURA . . . And the guitar solos by Clapton just escape from the World !, from the planet, to the stratosphere !, and get lost in the Universe; in the infinite . . . ► Firmado : el Beat.♪

Ok, i have to say this is the video I was craving to see on youtube! Andy does a great job, but that solo...I don't care how hard it is to play, or technique or whatever, all I know is that it almost has a physical effect on me. It may very well be one of the greatest performances ever uploaded on youtube. Thank you, slunky ;)
I have yet another request to make to you, if I may ^^ From the same concert - Ramblin' on my mind :)
    Thank you again!
