In the past 200 years there have been 8 instances of attacks/acts of violence at the US Capitol. It is widely known that it is one the heaviest guarded places in the US (especially since the events of 9/11). How this riot occurred happened is a question that we will most likely never know the answer to. The simple point of fact is, that there is so much missing (lack of guards, patrols etc), had those things been in place as they should have been, the riot would never have happened.
