JAEGER TRACKS : QUAIL HUNTING AT RIO PIEDRA PLANTATION

Jaeger's second quail hunt of the 2020 'Quail Tour' of Georgia was a stop at Rio Piedra Plantation. The cover was thicker but Jaeger still had a ball flushing a lot of quail. Dad had the gun of the day and cleaned up. We found some areas to improve, but had a really fun day at the plantation. #quailhunting #dachshund #gundog

First time I've seen bird hunting with a teckle

Are you from the US? We use them here in Europe for anything (except bear hunting 😆). I used mine for baying wild boar in group with other hounds as well tracking (trail and blood). That's a thing with those German dogs, you can teach teckles and jagdterriers bird hunting and you can teach weimaraners and pointers other game than birds. You just have to be willing to "scuff the boots". Ofc you will teach pointers retrivers and spaniels bird work much easier and faster and they will work more effectively.

I don't think I'd be a good training example. I just let him hunt as much as possible and he figures it out. This was only the second time he's ever quail hunted and worked with other dogs. The first time is the Boggy Pond Quail Hunt video also on the Jaeger Tracks channel.
