What a fantastic touring car this is.
A very progressive acceleration from a 272 bhp 3 litre 6 cyl. NA engine in the 2 doors coupe model (258 bhp in the saloon / sedan 4 doors edition). Motor comes in either a rather reliable early N52 block with indirect injection and no high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) or late N53 direct injection with tons of well documented HPFP issues.
I can squeeze 7.8 L/100km at 120km/h on motorway and 6,5 L at 90 km/h. Extremely spacious inside for 4 adults (equivalent to earlier 5 series). Good 440L trunk. Great engine noise above 4500 rpm. Picked mine dirt cheap (29% of new RRP, a whopping 71% off) 6 yrs old with 100.000 km (62K miles) on the clock. No problems to report in 4.5 yrs. Best bargain ever.

His shifting perfect in terms of timing, not losing power at all. Good job bro.
Im losing power bcs im shifting to late at 6900-7100rpm. You are going max to 6800rpm every time when you are shifting and u gain max power and speed. Perfect timing.

I have the same car with automatic transmission and the fuel gauge goes down or rise depending of the kind of driving you are going on the moment. If you go hard, the fuel gauge will go down fast and If you go soft, the fuel gauge will rise again. Don't worry about that!

    • @carlootje10

It doesn't look a lot quicker because we have different gauges, this one goes up to 280kph where the 325i goes up to 260kph so your pointer will go up just as fast, but the speed doesn't. The e92 330i N53 takes 6.0sec to 100kph where the 325i n52 takes 7.7sec to 100kph, which is still really fast when you keep in mind the car weighs more than 1500kg with a driver and fuel.

could someone explain to me wtf is going on here ? I have a 2002 ford focus, 1.6 petrol, 100 bhp and it runs the same as this , I swear to god ! 1st gear around 60, 2nd 100 and 3 150, after this, of course things change , but I was planing to have an e92 330ci, and I think I'll set it on fire if I see behind me a ford focus chasing till the 3 rd gear at the same speed as me :O

Yeah the gear ratio might be similar but how fast does it gets to that speed though, and he had the traction control on still so it probably killed a bit of power on second gear

It all depends how fast can your Ford reach third gear compare to a BMW. The gear ratio may be the same, but the1.6 Ford has less power than a 3.0 BMW therefore when BMW will be in third gear you will still be in second gear maibe.

You must be trolling, right? How the hell do gear ratios tell you the time the vehicle takes to 0-150 km/h? You think your ford with almost 200hp less than this bmw could be as fast?
