    Great Video = my thoughts are that the HASEGAWA 1/48 MACCHI / C.202 & C.205 VELTRO is nearly perfect in shape and dimensions and shows off some of the finest surface detail you can get with a 1/48 scale Kit. I was lucky that I spotted that Eduard had produced the 1/48 C.202 Folgore BRASSIN wheel well set - which fits the C.205 with ease - it made a huge difference to the finished Model -
    I bought this lovely Hasegawa kit in 2020 on eBay in the rare "A.N.R Version" which is a rare Hasegawa 1996 Boxing. I also took no chances with the 1990's Hasegawa decals and bought the new 1/48 aftermarket Peddinghaus Decals which depicts Adriano Visconti's famous "Red 18" C.205.
    I gathered the following aftermarket items (1) Eduard Brassin Wheel Bay Undercarriage set for C.202 that fits the C.205 and purchased the full Eduard etch sets for the Macchi C.205 ED48495 and ED49289. I also got the Eduard Paint Masks XF053. I bought the fine Brass Pitot Tube (by Master Models) and last but far from least - the marvellous and very rare Moskit Exhausts.
    I am very pleased with my Hasegawa C.205 Veltro and it now sits on its glass shelf in my Display Case with a bespoke nameplate.

      Very cool 😎! It seems you have guilded the lilly with your Macchi. I picked up the Italeri boxing of the 205 right after releasing this review. It's the Hasegawa plastic with lots of decal options, including smoke ring decals, which I'm anxious to try. Cheers!

    Beautifully built, painted and weathered aircraft!
    I have two Tauro Models C202 in my stash. The Tauro Models Folgore date back to 2007. They look like good kits but I wonder how they compare to the Hasegawa. I’m tempted to do a video about them in the future.
    One suggestion I have for your video presentation that I believe should be of interest to the viewers is to give the year the kit was produced. Is the Hasegawa dating to the mid 1990s?

      I just looked at a Tauro Models C.202 at the local hobby store. I was able to inspect the plastic parts, etc. The Tauro kit is a short-run kit and it looks like a much more involved build than the Hasegawa. I don't usually list the years of the kits because the date on the box or instructions can be misleading. Many kits are re-boxed over the years or released by other manufacturers. It is a good suggestion, though, just a little more complicated to implement than it first seems. Cheers!

      Hi Chris, I did feature the C.202 in the mottling technique video. Since I had it out, I thought it was a good time to review it. Did you pick up anything at the toy fair? Cheers!

      MODELS were slim pickings…
      I did buy a 1/72 AIRFIX Arado 196 German CATAPULT SEAPLANE
      Never had that kit before, have a display idea for it, plus going to detail the cockpit…
      KEEP UP THE CHANNEL, it’s a good one…. CHRIS 🇺🇸

    Great subject. This aircraft always looked like a race car with wings to me. Built this a few years ago. Well engineered kit from Hasegawa. Great review! Thanks!

    There are indeed a lot of parts to assemble for the landing gear, but it makes the model really stand out. So many planes and models for this era I have been " prejudice" to US, ETO Aircraft, however your videos have encouraged me to swing over to Japanese. In fact reorganizing my stash before my sabbatical I found some Japanese aircraft from Otaki - I'm not sure they are still around but they have some nice quality plastic and details. I had forgotten exactly when I had to put things on hold but was amazed to find a lot of unfinished kits - a sign of when model time slowing down. I did find a lot of these unfinished kits will most likely turn into paint mules due to missing parts primarily canopies. I even found a few more Spitfires :-) if I can come close to your finish technique I'll be a very happy modeler . Winter in the Pacific Northwest, may help catchup. I will have to try the VMS stripper on many to get back to square one on them. Cheers till the next video.

    Great review and beautifully executed model… this is the best Folgore model at this scale, but not the best kit: eduard has produced a Limited Edition kit using the Hasegawa parts as the basis… they’ve managed to make a great kit even better! I look forward to your next review, best wishes

      Thank you! I'd like to say it was easy... but I'm happy with the end result, and that's what counts.

    Hello Jon, excellent video, very well explained and also the result of both the assembly and the painting shows that this model is magnificent, for me it is a model that must be had no matter what, I have always found it along with its brother the 205, as one of the most beautiful airplanes, is my assessment.
    Here in my country, these Italian designs do not arrive very often, so if they arrive they go very quickly, so I am on the hunt for one hahahaha, greetings and until the next video

      Thank you, Francisco! I agree, the C.202 and C.205 are beautiful aircraft. The Hasegawa C.202 comes with the parts to model either aircraft. They make a dedicated C.205 kit as well. Good luck with your hunt! Cheers!

      @@jonsmodelkitreview4624 Hello Jon, I must say that when I saw the Macchi I was left with the desire to get one, whatever the scale hahahaha, however while I was searching, I found a forum on WordPress, very good, very informative, I don't know if you are You are the owner, but well I have integrated, greetings

    i like the review and i have this kit in my stash, can you tell me which paint product you used and the color used for the base and camo.

      @jonsmodelkitreview4624  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @allangarant3907 Thanks, Allan! I used PolyScale Italian Hazel Tan for the top base color and PolyScale RLM 65 for the underside. The mottles were PolyScale RAF foliage green (if I remember correctly). Cheers!

    I just finished painting my M.C. 202. I uploaded a video to my channel.
    The model is quite ok, but it is clearly showing its age. Some details are missing, and you have to use putty because the parts don't fit together perfectly. More decal options would be useful because the plane was painted in different ways. M.C. set The 205 from Italeri offers a bit more.

    • @jonsmodelkitreview4624
      @jonsmodelkitreview4624  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right on. I think the 205 from Italeri is a reboxing of the Hasegawa kit with more decal options. Cheers!
