I didn't cry the first time I saw the ending as I was tired from working. But rewatching it everytime abd seeing other's reaction it no bullshit gets me teary eyed EVERYTIME. I watched Snapcube /Penny go through it first and I was full on sobbing. Highest of highs to some of the most emotional moments in the history of the series. Screw anyone that says this series should be kiddy or never take itself seriously or need stories like this. THIS IS SONIC. These characters and these stories matter to us and that is enough.
Man the moment Maria mentioned a baby sister, the lore implications for a future game cause if I recall Maria's dad is from the archeology side, so possibly her little sister also started doing that and could potentially lead her to chaos island. Which could in theory answer why chaos island was in this game
First time seeing the Doom Wings and the final cutscene with Shadow and Maria are top tier highlights for me with this game. They really knew how to write emotion so well, I’ve never seen Shadow pull a genuine smile in a long time. That was something special

It's more of the fact that it's being addressed. Yeah we knew Gerald was eggman's grandfather, but we never thought about who the father was, because until now, there was no reason to.

Just beat the main story of shadow generations a few days ago and it was an absolute blast from start to finish. Super fun levels, cool bosses and emotional at the right time. Can’t wait to 100% everything

This game is so peak, we are in the right direction starring with frontiers, and continuing with this, peak story and peak games, i hope frontiers 2 keeps it up
I am still playing the sonic part not going to the shadow part until I get all S ranks in challenges and stages. They stages are easy but some of the later challenges are kinda hard which I like.
this game is too good man, it almost feels wrong to have a game that's this good. I loved Frontiers but we can all agree that it's flawed, the only flaw of Shadow Generations is that it's not longer.
When the only real complaint I can find about this game (besides the story not getting enough time to develop and having to rush the emotional beats) is that the game is too short, you know you’ve cooked. The Sonic Renaissance is at its peak with this one.

In this simple and short story, it wraps up so perfectly and emotionally. First time I ever really cried from something in the Sonic franchise, even as a fan of it for almost 23 years now.
My favorite boss fight is the Mephelis fight since it actually is my first time fighting him. I unfortunately didn’t get to play Sonic 06 so it was an experience

Was a way to make a link with the beginning where he didn't want to be at the party
I beat the story before Standard Edition players got access, and i had a blast playing Shadow Gens from beginning to end. Cant wait for the Sonic Movie 3 DLC!
Shadow’s story in SXSG is absolutely 💯 peak incredible my favorite moments are the beautiful back story of Shadow and his time with Maria and Gerald, Shadow and Sonic’s epic battle with some references from SA2 and Heroes, the return of Metal Overlord from Heroes and Mephiles from 06, the climax of the final battle between Shadow and Neo Devil Doom and the bittersweet ending where Shadow had to leave his family behind knowing that he couldn’t save them from their fate this is by far my favorite game ever to feature my favorite character the ultimate life form Shadow the hedgehog 👍🦔🖤😢
I 100% Gens two days ago n can’t wait to replay this game for another over 10 years like I done with the original. While I’m a bit disappointed with Sonic Gens portion, still they cooked with the Shadow Gens portion. Whole game is an 8 out of 10 but if it’s just Shadow, then 9 out of 10. Only thing that would make it an 11 out of 10 for me is if they added skill shop, more costumes, and character side missions. Skill shop, it would have been cool if they added cool stuff up improved boost gauge, option for spindash, chaos blast, Glock (jk), Super Shadow, etc. Costumes, obviously add all the fits Shadow wore back in the past or variant of Shadow. And character side missions. Like Sonic Gens, would have been cool if Shadow done missions for each character. Two ideas I have for this one. First idea, for the white space easy mode n red space for hard mode. For easy, the devs could have given us missions like help Big find froggy, Rouge helps Shadow with flight, team up with Omega n destroy bots, protect Maria from Black arms, etc. However when u change the white space to red space (Hard mode), then u get verse missions. Like the devs could have made fun by adding “I Call Dibs” challenge from Omega n see who kills all the bots the fastest. Big, who can find froggy first or collect fishes the fastest or something. Rouge, collect gems the fastest or race to see who gets the gem first. Gerald gives u the final test n u have to beat the hardest course utilizing all the abilities Shadow has n beat it in the tightest time set, etc. For second idea, same ideas but this time open zone. What I said for the first idea section, basically same thing but bring it to open zone. However for Big, would be cool if they bring back fishing. For easy mode, just find froggy while hard mode, collect fishes the fastest. If they done all of that, then this game would be my top 3 all time favorite Sonic games
