Hazrat Turakmaan was a Sufi saint who lived in Delhi in the 11th century. This Bandish is in his honour. His Shrine is still widely visit in present day Shahanabad, Delhi. There also stood a Turakmaan gate which used to be the southern entry gate to Old Delhi.
Its is actually 'Hajrat turkmaan.... tore bal-bal jaiye'.. Hazrat Turkman Bayabani was amongst the early sufis in dellhi, and turkman gate is named after him. peerless singing indeed.
Outstanding! I don't have much knowledge of raagas. But this style of alaap sounded a bit similar to Dhrupad. Is there lot of dhrupad influence on Ustadji's gayaki?
@@Wanderlust_Sal All, no doubt, exceptionally well trained, but without the exposures to general masses of what I also belong, and naturally beyond our realisation of their class. May be present AIR and DOOR DARSHAN stopped promoting the classical music at the expense of cheap commercialitiy. Definitely, very unfortunate!

Beautiful and so rare to listen a full alap in Khyal...really a treat from great gharana
There is a lot to learn in this performance for the young generation.. A great example of great Darbari Raga sung in such a great style.

Agra ghrana gayaki is based mainly on dhrupad gayaki.
You will notice nom Tom aalap in the beginning.
Ustad Faiyaz Khan Sa'b, Ustad Latafat Hussain Khan, Ustad Sharafat Hussain Khan and thereafter?
Gautam Roy A lot but they are all overshadowed by the so called kirana trend these days.
