This exact tool-set is called Parkside at Lidl's, although the tool itself is green, not grey, it has the same accessories and comes in that same box. There's also a more versatile bit-set for this tool with more bits and peices, like various round files, I think three sizes, which you can use for sanding out wheel arches on the plastic bodies. These extra bits come in a larger kind of square box that has a rotatable stand. Have an extra look around the shelves in your store, they should have it. Good thing is that it's all compatible with the original Dremel tools.
Hi Thomas and thanks for the interesting comment! I didn't know that Lidl sold similar tools. I'll have to check them out more often! That bit set sounds ideal for RC modelling. Wish I'd seen this few months ago. I got a dremil branded one for just over 40 quid and an extra set of bits or tool at a other 20 quid. Wouldn't be without it now for body work.
Hi Mark - you got that Dremel for a good price my friend! I know what you mean, now I have this one I don't know how I did all those little jobs before without one - definitely useful for the hobbyist! All the best! :))
Hi Mark, this is a nice set up. A rotary tool is an absolute essential for any RC hobbyist. My first Dremel lasted 20 years. The tool was fine but the battery wouldn’t hold a charge. I think a corded higher power rotary to cut/file metal and a smaller cordless are the perfect combo if you have the funds. I think a review of all the tools needed for RC beginners would be a great youtube video. Take care!
Hi Paul, I don't know how I've managed all these years without a rotary tool! I would also buy a genuine Dremel but money is very tight and this cheap copy will have to do for me. TBH I'm really pleased with it's performance. Plenty enough power for modelling. A corded version would be better for heavier work though. Another great idea for a video, cheers! Take care too, Bro! :))
I bought a Dremel 4000 because I thought It was the best - but it has actually been a pile of crap. It has always stuttered on low speeds so I have used it 'once in a blue moon' since....not used on drilling for oil either, just little jobs, but the last time I used it, it got very hot and smelly after being on for a couple of minutes and so is destined for the recycle bin....so this Aldi one looks a great replacement. The only thing that might be better on the Dremel is the extension shaft, so if your chucking your Dremel away keep the shaft as it will fit your new tool.
Thanks for the info! Yeah I have had a lot of comments saying the original Dremels are actually not that good. Good point about keeping the dremel attachments as spares! 🙏😎👍

Nice one Terry! I think I should've waited a while for the discounts! Mind you, sometimes all the stock is gone in the first few days, you never can tell! Cheers! :)
bought this but it didn't work.. even though brand new, turn it on and dead no lights. plugged charger in and it registered red+yellow meaning there was charge even though it was dead. because I lost receipt it couldn't be sent off under warrenty so took it apart tested with multi meter and the motor was knackered and dragging the charge off the batteries. the batteries are cheap shit ones, no wonder the company says 3 year warranty but only 6 months for the batteries, they have no trust in the product..
Sorry to hear the issues you had with this! Too bad you lost the receipt because I find Aldi is good at refunds if a product is faulty. It does make me wonder if the quality of these newer releases has been compromised because my old Aldi rotary tool is still going strong! 😎👍
I tried a couple of different usb-c chargers but.. one wasn't even turning on the leds, the other seemed to turn it on but wasn't able to charge it in a full day, not even a move from the red led.. on the other side, I'm worried that the original 12v charger could be used by mistake on a phone and fry that.. so I'm going to label that "odd" usb-c charger with some warning color label ;)
Aldi customer service are useless! The battery charger for mine has died. Customer service say they dont sell spares. New unit ordered via internet similar price and spares ARE available!

My rotary tool is a special tool, so useful!
Well this is the first one I've had, but yeah, I think it will become invaluable! 👍🏼
16.99 on sale now picked one up good tool for the price can't complain
Wow, it's an even better deal at that price! :O)
Yep. Me too. Got mine today. Couldn’t walk past at that price
Hi Mark, I’ve been looking for a budget dremmel type tool, this one could fit the bill. Looks great for the money. ;) cheers
Hi Andy! Yep, you could do far worse than this for the price. I don't work for Aldi so this is an honest review!!! 🤣All the best, fella! :)
Thank you. This video has been very helpful!
That's great to hear! You're very welcome, thank you! 😎👍
That's a great tool man, your gonna love it!!! You are right, eyes & mask is a MUST!!!! Now lets see some mods made with that thing!!! ATB my friend, to you & yours!!!
Right on brother Bob! I thought I should include a safety warning, you know there are folks out there that don't stop to think what could happen with a little tool like this until they get a shard of sanding disk in their eye at 100mph!!!
ATB to you and the family, dude - Cheers! :))
@@MarkBryanRC I'm guilty of not using safety items myself, but I wear glasses so I'm halfway there. LOL
Haha, I'll let you off, Bob! :D
Looks like a great tool for a great price 👌👍 Thanks for the video…If I ever see this at Aldi here in Australia I don’t have to think twice
Many thanks for watching, Hansaka! Wow, Aldi are in Australia? I'm learning a lot here about how worldwide Aldi are! Hope you can pick one up as it really is a great little tool! All the best from Mark... :))
Nice review Mark. I agree, to cheap not to buy one. I have one in my cave also lol
Thanks, Tibster, great minds think alike, eh? I'm still thinking up jobs for this little tool! All the best, matey! :)
Great deal Mark.. I've still use the old one but the cord can be a nuisance.. Aldi and Lidl do smashin deals on tools 👍
Absolutely, Derek! I need to check out Lidl, I wasn't aware that they did cheap tool too! Cheers! :))
@@MarkBryanRC Lidl sell Parkside tools and the range is fantastic.. From precision tools, nuts, bolts, washers and screws to mig welders and compressors.. I picked up a tidy wee cordless screwdriver for £15..
I don't know if you'll remember when I picked your brains about tips for the holiday buggy??
Well I have two now and had a smashin idea of what I want to do with them, will need to tell you sometime to see what you think..
Your channel is great Mark.
@@derekmillen42 Hi Derek and many thanks for the heads-up! Parkside, I'll remember that! (it was also the name of my primary school all those years ago!)
Yeah, I remember! Cool you got 2 now! Drop me an email and let me know your thoughts! All the best my friend! :))
I managed to get one for £9.99 really recommended
That's what I call a bargain! And I thought it was a bargain at £22!!! Good hunting there! :D
The motor MAY not last as long, but the price is a no-brainer!! I can but Aldi Tools in the States, most have been excellent.👌 The cutting wheels SHATTER easily! I would stick with Dremel for those...
But excellent DEAL Mate!! 👍👍🍺🍻
Great points, Carm! Definitely a no brainer at this price. I only found out today that Aldi are also in the states. I found out how fragile the cutting disks are, I broke one just fitting it to the mandrel! Thanks for all the great comments! :))
@@MarkBryanRC Absolutely, Mukka! If I didn't already have a Dremel, I'd have one.
I definitely recommend the Dremel Cutting disks - and only the heavy duty at that.
Although, if you get a few extra quid..... Diamond coated steel Cutting Disks work a treat. Plus, one lasted almost a YEAR for me!
@@CarminesRCTipsandTricks Oh yeah mate, I know those diamond disks are awesome - well worth the money as they last for ages! :))
Mine's lasted 4 uses over 3 months and would not charge ,tested batteries they were fine motor was fine something in board problems
Very sorry to hear that, I hope you used the warranty and got your money back!
Same here
I picked up one for £9.99. handy little tool.
Nice! Blooming bargain at that price Paul!
@@MarkBryanRC they'd all
A load of battery tools for sale in January so I picked up a hammer drill, multitool, impact driver, mini grinder, 20/40 battery and charger plus the dremmil mini drill for under £100 for the lot. All really powerful if a bit on the heavy side for prolonged use.
@@paulbrowne5049 That's amazing value, Paul! Definitely worth picking these tools up especially when on sale. Almost all of the tools I've had from Aldi have been excellent, and the odd one or two that were faulty were refunded with no questions asked! Can't say fairer than that!
Good bit of kit even better being cordless.
Cheers, Paul - yeah it seems very good on first impressions! All the best! :)
They are a good buy, Drimmel are over priced against what these cost. I have been using a corded one for over 10 years still going strong. For hobbying you cannot go wrong, just do not use too much speed with plastics it just melts. .
Hiya Mal, yeah I think you are paying a premium just for the Dremel name. Corded is good too, no batteries going flat, good to hear that yours is still working after all that time. Good advice about the speed, mate. Cheers! :)
@@MarkBryanRC Cordless a big advantage , no need for extension lead to make a mess outside the workshop.
@@BasBoyRC Good point my friend! :)
I bought first dremel when it came out 300series and I can’t killer I love it but was tidying and couldn’t find it thought it must got taken to tip recycle centre by mistake went to h/w they had 3000 on special $129 so feeling lost not being able to find 300 I bought it then went to Aldi they had ferret cordless dremel like tool $29.99 so I buy it you won’t believe it 2 days later I found the 300 just got wait for winter weather to go so I can use them.😱🤣😂
Oh no! It's always the same when you lose something (I think it's Murphy's law) If you replace it the old one turns up! At least you have plenty of tools to choose from. Best wishes and enjoy the hobbying!
Bargain is a word that comes to mind Mark😉👍
Sure was a bargain, James! Many thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment, always appreciated, mate! :))
@@MarkBryanRC 👍
Very handy tool indeed. But I am so old fashioned, I would prefer the version with a cord. So it would always have enough power when I need it and I cant forget to charge it. 🤣🤣
Fair enough, each to their own my friend! I'm very old fashioned myself! I do prefer a cord for heavy duty work, like using a power drill. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, always appreciated! :)
Thanks
You are welcome Norman! :)
$19.99 at aldi right now
Definitely a bargain! 😎👍
Just bought one on sale for 25$ with 5 years warranty 😆
Bargain!!! 😎👌👍
Great little tool i just popped in to Aldi and picked one up on offer at£9.99. Bargain
Nice one Terry! I think I should've waited a while for the discounts! Mind you, sometimes all the stock is gone in the first few days, you never can tell! Cheers! :)
I’ll say it again you only went in for bread and milk
Brilliant what a bargain 👍👍
Haha, so true my friend! Thanks for always leaving a top comment! 😉👍
bought this but it didn't work.. even though brand new, turn it on and dead no lights.
plugged charger in and it registered red+yellow meaning there was charge even though it was dead.
because I lost receipt it couldn't be sent off under warrenty so took it apart tested with multi meter and the motor was knackered and dragging the charge off the batteries.
the batteries are cheap shit ones, no wonder the company says 3 year warranty but only 6 months for the batteries, they have no trust in the product..
forgot to mention it is not a battery..
it is 3 x 18650 batteries cheap ones at that..
Sorry to hear the issues you had with this! Too bad you lost the receipt because I find Aldi is good at refunds if a product is faulty. It does make me wonder if the quality of these newer releases has been compromised because my old Aldi rotary tool is still going strong! 😎👍
anyone try a normal type C phone charger with this tool
I haven't, but it's an interesting thought! :)
I tried a couple of different usb-c chargers but.. one wasn't even turning on the leds, the other seemed to turn it on but wasn't able to charge it in a full day, not even a move from the red led.. on the other side, I'm worried that the original 12v charger could be used by mistake on a phone and fry that.. so I'm going to label that "odd" usb-c charger with some warning color label ;)
the point is that "classic" usb is usually 5v, so it's unlikely that it can charge a tool which requires 12v

Aldi customer service are useless! The battery charger for mine has died. Customer service say they dont sell spares. New unit ordered via internet similar price and spares ARE available!
That's a shame! They should send you a new one under warranty. :(
mine got an usb c connector, but doesn't work , the battery doesn't come off
Ah, that must be a newer model than mine, the battery is not removable on mine.
