MAPPA has a lot of inconsistencies but Im more inclined to believe that this was also coz Isayama's intervention. Coz it would be a odd for the alley way to switch unintentionally coz the backgrounds would be literally made in CGI. So this shouldn't be this inconsistent if they're only using one CGI model for the alley way unless they were trying to illustrate Eren in different timelines.
@@vistar_kj bro, everyting mappa does doesnt mean it's cgi. It's just the inconsistent art direction. Also the changes there are very minor shown in the video, so I highly doubt that they would intentionally put those there. Who knows tho :/

The creator, Isayama, plays a big role in the creation of the snime as he believes it to be the final version of his story. It would only make sense if he saw the mixed reception and changed the ending to satisfy fans and to raise respect for the series.

In cinematography is very normal to have this kind of inconsistencies either on purpose or not, I am sure this can be applied for animation as well and you can probably see this in 2d animation very often
The episode was delayed because Isayama wanted to clear things up before released, including animation errors. This alone proves Isayama is up to something.
Eren (future) sent his memories back to Grisha. Now Grisha has those memories. Then, when Eren (past) touches Historia's hand, he unlocks the memories of Grisha, meaning that he saw his own future memories that he sent to Grisha as well.
