    I'm a local to lewisburg, and I'm glad to see someone who has an intrest in this cave. When me and some of my past friends were little, we went to this cave and saw and read this news artical. We were obsessed and terrified by the idea of Batboy running around loose our town. I love lost world with all my heart and go there occasionly w/ my grandma. I have so many adventures in this town. I rly hope you enjoyed it.

    Stalactites hang from the ceiling, stalagmites grow from the ground. The way I was taught how to remember that was that stalactites are holding "tight" to the ceiling.

    Thanks for showing where Hank Williams died. Walt Disney was considered a river town for Frontierland at Disneyland and they thought of having a slanty shanty that worked like the mystery hole.

    Adam when you get the time you should make your way up to mackinaw island it's a long drive but it's worth it there's no cars aloud on the island only horse trolleys and bikes and there's so much history up there it's great

  • @bledsoetx

    StalaGmites - on the ground . . . StalaCtites - On the ceiling
    Easy to remember if you look for the "G" or "C" . . . ;o)

  • @algomaone121
    @algomaone121 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Adam, the way to remember the difference between stalactites and stalagmites: stalactites come from the roof of the cave and the "c" for ceiling is in the name.

    Yea Ha W VA ! The Mystery Hole is an underground series of rooms where the walls and floors are built at angles to give the impression that there is something wrong with the gravity in the area. There is one section where water seemingly flows upwards and the tour guide sits on the chair with two legs floating in the air and other two legs supported by the wall.

    Thanks Adam maybe your videos will inspire more tourism in our state. There is a Mothman festival coming up next month I think. I live here and I haven't been to many of these places myself. They recently had a ghost hunt at an old Abandoned Amusement park that is allegedly haunted as well. Lake Shawnee Amusement Park it is called.

    If you raise the volume to nearly maximum and use headphones you can hear a guy in the cemetery say "I'm dead!!" at 8:38 and "Hey!" at 8:39. Slowing the audio speed to 0.5 does also help you hear him better. Poor guy, there's nothing left for him here but to state the obvious.

    Once again, another fantastic vlog! I've never enjoyed watching someone's video when they just document their days. But your's man, your's are amazing! So exciting, so educating, and so positive! I'll admit. I was not a fan of you the first video I watched where you went into the abandoned Nickelodeon Studios. But after watching a few videos here and there after that, I became a huge fan! You are a part of my daily routine! You're doing what millions of people dream of doing and we love being able to live that lifestyle through you. Keep up the work, Adam! Not to be too pedantic, but Wikipedia says:
    " At around midnight on Thursday January 1, 1953, when they crossed the Tennessee state line and arrived in Bristol, Virginia, Carr stopped at a small all-night restaurant and asked Williams if he wanted to eat. Williams said he did not, and those are believed to be his last words.[68] Carr later drove on until he stopped for fuel at a gas station in Oak Hill, West Virginia, where he realized that Williams was dead. The filling station's owner called the chief of the local police.[69] In Williams' Cadillac the police found some empty beer cans and unfinished handwritten lyrics"

    Great Video. The downed power lines was from a Flood we had In June. A whole lot of that area you drove through was under so much water. If you get a chance Drive up and see the Greenbrier Hotel. It should be open now. Try and see the bunker that is built under the hotel. Suppose to be pretty neat. I've not had the chance to see it yet.

    Hey Adam!! I have a suggestion for you! If you ever find your self in East Tennessee near Kingsport you should visit this little place called sensabaugh tunnel! I've been going there since I was little because it's weaved into my family some how! Supposedly it's haunted and there an old farm house too. The legend is the lady that lived in the farm house lost her baby and you can hear the baby cry in the tunnel at night. It's very interesting! That whole area has abandoned stuff. If you wanna go just look the tunnel up and there directions! Happy hunting! ~ Alyssa Clark

      I find it more plausible that the reason she knew every exact detail about the murder was because she was the murderer.....not the spirit of the dead telling her the full gory story.

    • @AndStuffLikeThat
      @AndStuffLikeThat 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not so sure the husband might have had more motive than the mother. Say she married this guy against her mother's wishes. I definitely went with the mother knowing every detail because she was the killer.

    Stalactites are holding on real tight so they do not fall from the ceiling of the cave and stalagmites are pushing up with all their might to reach and meet with the stalactite that formed it by it's dripping onto the floor of the cave.
