Fred and Lamont were a truly great comedy team.
Exactly. Redd Foxx was a comedic genius and Demond was the perfect straight man who great reactions and timing to Redd's jokes and remarks.

As a fellow collector and junk lover, I always laugh at how many things I recognize in this set. That's a nice Van Briggle blue vase over Fred's left shoulder @ 1:45. Not one of the most highly prized, but it's still worth @ $80-$120 today. Those antique Dietz lanterns are nice, too! I have several. They still work.
Fred and Lamont would clean up on eBay with that "junk" today!

It wasn't until after Mr. Rogers died and I watched a video showing him changing shoes once for every year that he was on air that I realized that I own a bench that's identical to the one he sat on to put on his sneakers.
I bought that bench used at a yard sale for a couple bucks when I was 15, in 1976, and I always used it to store my shoes in!
I almost sold it years ago when I was moving 1500 miles, but I love it too much so I kept it. Now I love it even more!
This is top notch comedy and entertainment.
The first two seasons, Fred’s chair was back near the steps.

Once they get you in the nursing home the family slowly but surely forgets about you! The old folks sit around and talk about their family is coming and then they don't show up! Very sad!

It would have been neat if they would have had an episode with Sam Turner.
Aunt Ethel appeared in only two episodes during season 2
Because Esther became so popular, she was the break out character of the series.
In the other episode she appeared in, Fred gave her part of his lottery winnings for her to have her gallbladder surgery. Maybe the reason that she wasn't seen on the show anymore is because she died during the surgery.That's just my opinion.
